She turned a look of incredulity quickly forming on her face. "I do not take apprentices, but if you specify what you require I may be able to assist."

"It's a subjective business." She said, noting the behavior of the scythe. "But I'm afraid that my affairs at the moment won't allow for it." This was followed by an apologetic shrug.

Seeing that Samus had taken his leave, Emma returned to her desk, reactivating the glow around the silver figures, each Battledome regular seeming to move faintly in the flickering candlelight.

A sudden chill filled the room as frost began to attach itself to the corners of the walls, a slight breeze of winter air filled the room, warming whatever it touched and sending a shiver down one's spine. "I hope you're not busy Milady." The Ethereal's voice had a strange human tone to it, as if Onoma were replicating human emotion. "I've lost track of the days and wasn't sure if today was Sunday tea or not." He entered the room his body practically invisible in the dark if not for the candles and his own ether illuminating his eyes.

"Busy? No, not particularly." She closed her eyes for a moment, feeling through the link anchored in the pendant at her throat. "There's some research going on upstairs, but I am not needed at the moment." She glanced around at the frost covering the walls, concerned for a different reason than one might think. "Some of the books in here are fragile, please do not let them get damaged by unwitting release of energy."

Onoma gave off a very human smirk, "I will let no harm come to your texts, after all remember the last grimoire I set ablaze, it was perfectly fine." His studies were giving him new personality towards those he called friends and considering that this was the first time he had ever been in such a place he could honestly say curiosity was building deep inside of him. If you don't mind me asking what kind of research?"

Her fingers brushed the pendant again, images flashing through her mind's eye. "A new design for the wards...more efficient, but also more powerful." Magic flooded the room for a moment, the residue of a spell cast above them. "Testing the integrity, I assume."

"Interesting." He took a few steps around the room and then suddenly asked "Do you have Niccolo Machiavelli's "The Prince"?" His eyes wandered about and then rested in place "There's nothing malevolent that requires these wards coming is there?"

"I have one of the original copies, Niccolo was such a charmer in his own way. Cold, calculating, but those are good qualities sometimes." She replied, smiling brightly and clicking her fingers. The aforementioned copy fell out of thin air into her waiting hand, and she offered it to him. "There's always something malevolent coming, it just depends on the magnitude of the threat."

Skutz looked up to the conversation that took place, "Hmmmm" He didn't want to bother with talking, just observing others to pass the time. Skutz found a book, plopped down into a chair to read, or attempt thereof. He couldn't understand the language, but took notice in the graphic details of the pictures of different crude looking weapons.

Emma made a series of quick notes in a half-written grimoire, drying the ink with a spell as she shut the tome. Machiavelli was still on her mind...he was a handsome one, Niccolo. Almost as handsome as the man who continued testing the wards upstairs. She blushed faintly at the thought, and continued to read.

"Heh," Skutz chuckled at Visher, "it's just interesting at the amount of weapons that his book holds. So what is Olmec exactly?" He felt for his blade, Skutz wasn't one for the historic or special weapons, even if he had his Muspelhiem; the weapons is only as good as its owner, right?
