Moreso on topic, to anyone who has played DotA, what is everyone's favourite Hero to play as?

I generally preferred ranged heroes, cause I suck at controlling. Or, if I use melee heroes, I tend to use the spell casters or guys that can take plenty of damage. My favorites are...

Azgalor (Pit Lord): Pretty much my all-time favorite. Not too good at ganking, or even killing heroes (unless they're dumb enough to stick around while Firestorm is raging) but nobody kills creeps faster early-mid game, meaning an awesome gold flow. Plus, he starts with good base damage and plenty of strength, so it's easier to last-hit and deny. I can generally afford a Boots of Travel by the time I hit 6 or 7 (though that's -em, probably would take longer normally).

Magina (Anti-Mage): Probably the only melee hero I play as a melee hero. Early survival problems can be managed with a Vanguard. His Mana Break deals copious amounts of damage early-to-mid game, his Blink (with a ridiculously short cooldown) lets him chase enemies and then run away quickly. Plus, he has a good movement speed to start off with (320), which is equaled by only two characters (Naga Siren and Moon Rider) and surpassed by one (Chaos Knight).

Lesale Deathbringer (Venomancer): Hated him first, but the new remade version I find awesome, mainly due to his Venomous Gale. His orb attack isn't as damaging as Viper's, but it costs no Mana to use. Besides, you take it for the movement speed reduction. Wards probably aren't too deadly, but they're hella annoying, at least. I don't find myself using his ultimate too often, unless I'm in a team fight, but it does help.

Nevermore (Shadow Fiend): I find that a lot of people tend to go for the physical damage way (Necromastery and Presence of the Dark Lord) but I prefer maxing Shadowraze first (with Necromastery on alternate levels) and spamming the s**t out of my opponents. One Bottle has 3 charges that heal 135 HP and 70 Mana each, and Shadowraze takes only 70 Mana at all levels. Plus, add to the fact that it has three hotkeys (Z, X and C) for different distances, and the fact that using one won't trigger the cooldown for the other 2 means you almost always have a nuke at your disposal. He also doesn't lack for damage since Necromastery gives him up to a 60 damage boost, and Presence of the Dark Lord lowers armor. Though he's a bit fragile...

I'm still getting into DotA myself, so I've only played a few. My two favourites are easily Earthshaker, Treant Protector, and most out of them, Nerubian Assassin. I tried only really one ranger person, Morphling, and I did preeeetty bad. @___@ My Nerubian did really good though. He's pretty well rounded mana burn them, spike them, attack them while they're stunned, then use the vendetta special on them for the massive damage kill hit. He works really good with the Battle Fury and Boots of Travel items late game too, ooomg.

I generally find myself having mana problems when using NA, but then again, I spam spells like there's no tomorrow.

God I hate fighting NA. His Mana Burn cripples you early on, regardless of what kind of hero ye be.

I hate every and any hero with a Wind Walk ability. SA, NA, BH, PL... you name it, I hate it. D8

What does Windwalk do?

Basically, Wind Walk does the following things.

1. Turn you invisible.
2. Increase your movespeed while invisible.
3. Deal extra damage when you break out of invisibility.

Of course, most of the WWs in DotA only do one or two of those things.

NA's Vendetta, for instance, does all 3. It's the only one that does.
BH's Wind Walk is probably the only other WW skill that deals extra damage, but he doesn't get the increased movespeed.
SA's Permanent Invisibility isn't really a WW, since it's a passive skill rather than an active one, and only keeps SA invisible (permanently) except when attacking.
Invoker's Ghost Walk is kind of different, since it actually slows your movespeed (but also slows the movespeed of the enemy) until you level it up, in which case you move at normal speed while still slowing your enemies.

And so on.

I don't understand the abbreviations other than NA, but I get windwalking now.
