(it may be too late to answer the question about me being the friend [like 10 days late], but... sure... I'll be the missing friend. I may just have him start off in a tense fight with 5 at once, or something like that. All that depends on how I can wrap out the setting of where he starts off in.)

Salvatore spun his crowbar as he approached a back door into the school, ready to bust it open to his surprise, it was already open. With a shrug, he entered the school, stopping by his locker to drop off his crowbar. He already had a wood shop excuse cooked up for when he had to get it back out of the locker on Monday. In no hurry, Salvatore strolled down to the furnace room. He paused at the top of the staircase that led down to the door when he heard voices. They didn't sound like adult voices so he went on down the stairs. When he reached the door he found it already open, two guys and a girl in the room. He knew the guys, they were both friends of the guy who disappeared, but he didn't recognize the girl. "Well if you guys wanted ta throw a party down here, why didn't ya say so?" he said while entering the room and picked a side wall to lean against.

Shura, exhausted, yet somehow, is fleeing from the center of town, into norteastern side passages, around trees, in a forest-surrounded town, wood buildings about 4 stories at least high, getting chased by at least 5 swamp thing-looking orc-esque creatures (I dunno what the race structure for this other world are like, so my description for most of these forms are botched pretty badly), armed with boomerang axes (basically a hybrid function of the 2 weapons), about 4.5 ft long . The smart-alec Shura is, telling off one of them to (do I really need to say it?) & making a vomit-esque insult about their race, is pretty much why they are chasing him, other than the 6 1/2 ft glowing claymore.
Luckily, the 5 can't seem to get a clean shot on him due to the duck, cover, & gunning it manuevers, giving him a decent amount of leverage, banging into each other, giving Shura more time than he needed, hiding 40 yards away from the center to the NE as the 5 just pass him as he is behind 2 large trees, puffing & panting.
*rolls eyes in disbelief* What was I smoking when I said that ignorant crap? And what did I do to come into this "world?"
(I'm praying this is a decent start of this char for a storyline, but if not, message me & I'll do a massive re-edit, focusing on the advice)

Oh... that's right. ...my allies, a portal.... Shura finally remembered everything he went through & what is needed. All he needs to do is keep out of sight from the swamp orcs he was just fleeing from, the bloodscars (7.5 ft versions of a dark-elf & undead hybrid, equipped with anything they can get their hands on. Known for the scars that show 2 or 3 layers of flesh all over their skin), & any other creature that may get in the way.
After re-checking the trees, behind, sides, & in front of him, Shura closes his eyes, takes a gutsy breath, & guns through the forest city, heading north, barely missing trees by mere centimetres. As he is gunning it, he scans again, trying to find a decent place to rest up & set the portal up.
Eventually, Shura stops, about 75 miles from the north side of the forest city, about 2 miles to the south of a slimy, godsend-smelling, marsh, yet still deep in the forest, surrounded by thick yew, pine, & tall oak trees.
Please god guide me as I at least attempt to set this portal up, & do not let me die in the process for being so foolish, he prays, unsheathing the claymore, gripping the 6ft 30lb blade with both hands, thrusting the blade into the ground, pulling it forward, then pushing it back, then side to side, attempting to leave a cross-shaped engravement in the ground.
(Did that fix any issues, or did it make it worse?)

Bio: (I'm working on it.) Tabitha when she was in school was never really notice by any one. She would try to make friend, but it never worked out. One day she saw Shura in the halls, and had a crush on him ever since. She tried to become one of his friend, but didn't think he noticed her. He then disappeared for a long time, and dint come back. She then got a letter from him say to come to the school with weapons. She stole her Big Brothers Katana and came.
