I'll take Harrison with the Niners. Mentor the young receivers, Morgan and Hill. Don't know how he'll fit with Singletary though. Lol. Run the ball.

Marvin Harrison had a great career. He will end up in the Hall of Fame, and is one of the best receivers to ever play in the NFL.

It's sad to see it end this was. The Peyton Manning to Marvin Harrison hookup was legendary. I always thought that we'd see Harrison retire in Indianapolis, and stay with the Colts during his entire career.

But we have to face the facts. Marvin Harrison is getting older, and he's not as athletic as he once was. He is battling a legal criminal case, about a shooting in Philadelphia. Also, Marvin wants way too much money for a player of his caliber. The Colts did not want to overpay him for his recent underachieving production, and Harrison would not take a pay cut or re-do his contract. I personally think that he should have re-modeled his contract to stay with the team.

...But Harrison will surely find another team, looking for a veteran. He can still play, and he'll help teach the younger receivers.

I'm thinking either Philly or the New York football Giants.

I like Marvin Harrison, but I don't want the Giants to make a move for him. He is aging, he would cost too much cap money, and he doesn't really fit into our system. If we sign him, all he'd be doing is replacing Amani Toomer. I think that Hixon could emerge as our #2 receiver, with Smith as the #3/slot, and Manningham and Moss will battle it out for #4. What we need to focus on right now is our #1 WR spot. Hopefully the Burress incident will clear up, and he can return to his role as our guy. If not, then we'd have to make a move in free agency or in the draft, to get another receiver.

Ehh, it was just an idea. But other than that it's most likely he'll end up going to his home of Philadelphia.

Possibly. But I'd rather the Giants keep Burress (if all the legal stuff goes well). But if Plaxico leaves, then I'd like the Giants to either make a move for TJ Houshmandzadeh, trade for Braylon Edwards or Chad Johnson (Boldin would cost too much), or just draft a valuable receiver.

There are quite a few valuable WR's in the draft.

Yeah, the draft has some pretty good receivers. Guys like Crabtree and Maclin will be taken pretty early, so the Giants don't have a chance to get them. But I think that they Giants have a pretty good chance to get Heyward-Bay, Nicks, Britt, or Robiskie. I also hope that the Giants look towards possibly getting Cal Poly's Ramses Barden. He's the biggest receiver in the draft (6'6'' 230lbs), and could be a steal.

No-doubt, Ramses Barden is a steal, the man's huge and still runs a 4.60

Experts are saying that he's a late-round second day guy in the draft. He could be a real steal, and I think that any teams that gambles on him will be satisfied. What could hurt his stock, though, is that he was in a small school, with easy competition. He had a good receiver skills challenge performance.

But the Colts need a good reciever like Harrison, to let payton Manning be a good QB.

if he is goin to be a late second day draft pick NY has to be worried with Philly having 4 5th round draft picks

If he wants another ring, his choices are limited really. If he just wants to play & get paid, there's a lot of teams that would take him, even if it is to help mentor up & coming receivers.

I could see him going to the Eagles. DeShawn Jackson could use someone like Harrison around him

He'll get picked up by a team that has young recievers so he can be a mentor.
The Niners, and Lions come to mind.

With Issac Bruce deciding to return to the 49ers for one more season, bring in Marvin is most unlikely.

I think the top two teams interested in Harrison will be either the Giants or the Bears.

Now that the Bears have a pro-bowl quarterback in Cutler, adding a deep threat weapon in Harrison would not only give the Bears a legit passing attack to compliment their newly aquired QB, but it will also help open up the run game for Forte to do better if Defenses have to drop players back into coverage to try and prevent long passes.

And the Giants, well we've seen how they collapsed without Burress at the end of last season, and after letting Plaxico go they need a replacement favorite target for Eli. Though Marvin is older than Burress and passed his prime, he can still be a great asset to the team.

Overall I think this is a good move by the Colts. With Marvin Wayne still with the team they won't be lacking in deep threat passing, they can easily draft a new Wide Reciever to try and fill in the vacant spot and eventually fill that gap, or hit the free agency market for a possible receiver with experience. Manning and the Colts offense showed they can survive and do well without Harrison, They should be fine.
