Darkwind looked at Silversoul seriously. "I love you." she said to Silversoul. She could feel her heart pounding, and felt like both forts and the academy could hear its quick, nervous pounding. Dark wasn't even paying attention to the two birds that flew out of the big tree, which could have made an easy snack.
As the two birds flew off, she could feel her soul soar with them as she waited for Silversoul's reply. This was something she had never experienced before, and she was sure that not everyone's experience was the same. Especially for the two wolves out under a tree, in the bright, glowing moonlight.

A sweet, gentle warmth flooded his limbs, carrying with it a certainty he hadn't felt since the day he chose Iris as his bonded partner. And I you. Not a word more was needed.
In a short hour or two, he had come to value Darkwind more than his own life, defying all logic but nevertheless true. He loved her beyond his own understanding, and for the first time he understood his rider's own longing of late. She needed a mate...happy Iris, human and free to pursue love when she found it.
He gazed at Darkwind, small and beautiful. So much threatened to come between them--she was from White Shadow, he New Eve, Feralblood and Nightmre would never approve, nor for that matter Snowysky or Stardust. And even beyond those obstacles...would she have him? Would she be willing to carry pups for him, to raise them? It was not likely he would be permitted to stay with her through the difficult months of pregnancy and...
But he ought not think such things when he did not even know her side of the matter. Darkwind... he said hesitantly after a long pause, Would you...be my mate and the mother of a family?

Dark thought but the thinking process didn't take long. "Yes, I do, dearest Silversoul."With that, Darkwind ran over to Silversoul, someone she hoped to be with forever. "I will always be with you forever, no matter what happens, no matter what it takes.
