"Maybe I let you," she replied with a teasing grin, reaching up and returning the teasing lick. The water vixen curled her tail around his affectionately. "Now who has who?"
Ren smiled softly as she watched her friend. She was glad to see that Nami had found someone who she could be happy with. Her expression changed however when the striped vixen caught an odd scent on the breeze. She wasn't familiar with it. "Do you guys smell that?" she asked, looking around them for the source.
Katie nodded, smelling it too. "Definitely doesn't small like a deer or a bear."
Nami turned slightly more serious when the foreign smell came. "Hang on, I'll check it out," she replied, closing her eyes for a second. When she had opened them again her Byakugan were activated. "Oh!" she exclaimed softly, looking off into the distance. "Hmm, strange creatures. They're standing on their hind legs and carrying giant sticks in their front paws."
"How many of them are there?"
"Um... five."

Higure growled low in his throat as he stood more protectively over Nami. He knew they werent bears but he wasn't to sure as to what they were. "Shinya"he called in a grumble to his sister to get her attention.
Kafun heard Higure growl and kind of snap at Shinya. He didnt understand why his older cousin was acting like this and he wasn't liking it. "Higure, whats your problem?" he asked sounding slightly mad.
Shinya heard the tone in her brothers vocie and knew better then to argue with him at the momment. So she went to him and stood close to his side hoping that whatever it was wasn't coming their way and they didnt end up with a mess like what happend when she meet her other borthers Kupe and Chop.

Nami didn't understand what Higure was getting so upset about. "What's wrong?" she asked, shimmying out from underneath him. "You worried about the things coming or something? If that's the case it'd probably be better to run than fight, don't you think? There are more of us, but these things are a pretty good size."
"Fight?" Katie echoed, shuffling nervously. Sure, she play wrestled with her brother all of the time, but she wasn't really one for real combat. "Why would we need to fight? Who says that these things are bad?"
"We don't know," Ren replied simply. "But do we want to risk it? I think Nami might be right in suggesting that we move away from here."

"You dont fight these things. I dont know what they are but I've seen them before. Those sticks that they are holding kill things in a blink of an eye. So as you said Nami the best thing for us to do is run." Higure moved back as he said this so Nami could get up. He nuddged Shinya to move in front of him.
Shinya moved forward as Higure had wanted her to. She looked over to Kafun and said, "I would come if I was you, but you don't have to your old enought to do things on you own."
Kafun looked down feeling bad that he had gotten angry with Higure and said in a low whisper "I"m sorry Hig, Shi."

"Well, let's get going then," Ren said, urging them along. "Katie, why don't you go find your father and brothers?"
"And leave you behind? I don't think so," she chided, pushing them along. "We're sticking together."
"Wait a second!" Nami exclaimed, running in front of the group to block their path. Her expression was frustrated. "There's more of them up ahead. We're surrounded." The beings were spread out almost evenly around them so that there were no gaps large enough for them to fit through unseen. "Some don't look quite the same as the others, but they are all the same creatures."

"Nami do you see and opening any where. That we might be able to make a break for?" Higure asked as he was getting ready to either run or fight for his family.

Nami hesitated. "We could run between them, but we'd have to split up. The openings are only wide enough for about one fox each."

Higure nodded. "I think we should try. What do you guys think?" He asked looking at Shinya, Kafun, Nami, Ren, and Katie.
"I don't know Hig. Doesn't that cut our chances to something pretty slime?" Shinya asked looking at her brother then scaned their surrondings.
"I must agree. That's splitting hairs there cuz." Kafun as he was getting ready to bolt if they decided that is what they were going to do.

"Too late," Nami gasped, backing up into Higure as the second group came through the trees. There were only four of these guys, but they held pretty similar looking sticks as the other five who hadn't reached them yet.

"What are these things?" one of the researches asked, staring at the large mammals in awe. "Does that big one have wings?!"
"They look like some kind of feline or fox or something," another replied, brushing his blonde hair out of his eyes excitedly. "This is truly an amazing discovery!"
The first nodded, his brown hair bobbing with the motion. "Indeed. I wonder why they haven't tried to run from us though." He held tight onto his tranquilizer gun for extra security. These creatures looked as if they had a high intelligence about them. Truly fascinating.

Ren watched warily with narrowed eyes as the tall creatures spoke amongst themselves in a strange tongue, stepping in front of her daughter defensively. "Katie, if I tell you to fly away, just do it, alright?"
"Not without you," the phim retorted, also watching the hair-less things carefully. "If that happens I'm taking you with me."
Nami was tense as she watched the other group's approach through the trees behind them. "If we want to run, we'll have to do it now," she whispered to them all. "The other five are nearly here. Should we try going around or 'through' these guys?" She certainly didn't like the look of the metal sticks that Higure had warned them about. The insides of them were strange and intricate.

"I-I think they're speaking to each other," the brunette uttered in amazement, watching the exchange in fascination. "Incredible!"

Higure growled at the humans. "We should just try and get out the easyest way we think we can." he said while watching the humans closely.

"We should capture one of them. For study, it would be amazing to see what they did." another said while nuddging the last one.
The last started to raise the gun. "We should get the one with the wings and then one of the others seeing as they are different. What do you think?"

Shinya backed away from the new creatures. "Higure I don't like how they are looking at us. What should we do?"

"Yes, capturing them certainly sounds good, but we're kind of outnumbered here," the blond pointed out. "If we fire at one of them from this range we might end up being mauled."
"Hmm, good point," the brunette replied with a frown. "Back up a distance and track them perhaps? Though the element of surprise is no longer there and they might flee. What to do..."

"Let me handle it," Ren said quietly, padding forward and looking up at the humans. She met each of their curious gazes and in a very short amount of time she had them all in a trance.
Nami grew increasingly nervous as she watched the group from behind come ever closer. Being trapped was never a good thing. Finally, she couldn't take it anymore and exclaimed "Just run!" before dashing through two of the dazed scientists herself.
"Yes, run while my mom has them dazed," Katie urged, acting as a rear guard. "We'll catch up quickly."

Shinya dashed through the other two creatures while Nami did the same. She was done sticking around this things and wanted to get the heck out of there.
Kafun ran around them the same time Shinya went through them. He shook his head at her for going right through the creatures.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "Quick grab that one. Its right there grab it" yelled the third one while reaching for it.
The last one grabbed out for it and managed to grab a hold of its leg and some of its tail.

Shinya let out a shocked yelp as she was starting to be pulled back.
Higure looked toward Shinya as she let out a yelp. He noticed that the stupid creatures had grabed a hold of her. He growled low in his chest as he slowly aproched the humans. He even bared his teeth giving them a warning to let go of his sister before he hurt them.

The humans weren't paying attention to the new threat to them they where to busy looking at this animal that they caught.
"Do you see how its fur flops into its face?" the third asked while standing a lil ways back from it
"Yes, Do you see how it's tail winds around and then puffs out?" asked the last.

"Her coloring is absolutely fantastic," the brunette remarked, running a hand lightly over her fur.

It seems as if I released them from my gaze too quickly, Ren thought to herself in exasperation and irritation as the creatures gawked at Shinya. She let out a fierce snarl to capture their attention. "Let her go before I maul you," she warned, growling as she stepped forward.
"I'll help," Katie said, joining in beside her mother. Her massive size made her aggressive stance all the more intimidating.

The blonde was the first to notice the growling sounds coming from either side of them. "Um, g-g-guys," he choked out, quickly backing away from the approaching foxes. "M-Maybe we s-should let it go..."

"Shinya!" Nami cried out when she noticed that the female had been captured. She doubled back to where they were but quickly skidded to a stop when she neared. "The other creatures... they're here." She announced, watching the treeline behind Ren and Katie. "But they're... hiding? A few of them are raising their sticks... Looks like they're pointing them at us."
(The hunters now, not the scientists. XD)

Higure advanced on the humans holding his sister. He growled again and snapped his teeth by their hands, "Let go of her." he said.

The last two humans automaticly jerked their hands back from the fox like creature.
"I think its best if we let them go."
"I agree"

Shinya started to pull her self away from the humans keeping her body low to the ground.
Kafun turned back toward his cousins and noticed that more humans where coming so he called out "Run there is more, Run."

Between Nami and Kafun's warning, everyone quickly hurried to get the heck out of there. A shot fired behind them, but fortunately missed. "Let's put as much distance between us and them as we can!" Ren called out, not wanting anyone to get hurt.
