Rainingwind caught Jamie's slight disappointment, which didn't last long as it was quickly replaced again by her fiery determination for improvement. Her thoughts apparent to him, he read that the aforementioned disappointment was directed at the discovery that it was likely he had not been uniformly digging holes a foot deep and a meter in diameter and this meant there was a handicap in her favor she hadn't known about. She set up another challenge, aiming to test the improvement of her efficiency at filling the holes in routine with Rainingwind afterward. His rider amused him, but of course there was no glaring mark of this in his outward appearance.
Finished setting up, Jamie placed her wolf's blindfold into the bag and produced her own, tying it on so as to securely cover her eyes. She observed that her wolf had lowered his ears and tail since the Beta and further when the Alpha got into closer proximity to them. How about if we proceed only up until you tell me to stop before reaching a range so as to greet them? Jamie suggested, having gotten to a point of familiarity with her partner.
Those were the words taken right out of my mouth;..you are a suspicious human..So then, are you set?
Ready, Jamie replied with a composed smile before the smile was on her features no longer as she focused calmly. Similar to the two drills, in this drill each border is intended to be made contact with four times excluding the start, end, and turning points by both the wolf and rider, meaning twice in proceeding one direction and twice when proceeding back. However, the plan was to cut it short.
Rainingwind, you aren't cheating are you? Jamie teased playfully as it only took seconds for them to cover the first ten meters of the obstacle-filled area, Running through the imaginary trees would be painful if they were in fact tangible.
No, Jamie, I'm directing you to one as we speak, was the wolf's response between two navigating signals in his usual cold sort of tone.
Touche, she chuckled inwardly as they continued weaving skillfully past obstacles in accordance with the set objectives of the drill, also including keeping a minimum distance between their selves unless executing a cross of paths to switch sides past each obstacle.
Stop, Jamie, he informed her upon having neared the range they had discussed. Jamie pulled on the blindfold, unraveling it and efficiently tying it around her neck like a scarf as she entered the range with her wolf and walked with him toward the other wolves to stop before them a respectful distance, Rainingwind low against the ground, eyes averted from the Alpha to the ground directly in front of him, ears pinned down, and tail tucked by that time; though well-mannered his bearing was constant, cold and battle-ready. Such sights about him intrigued Jamie about her wolf since she'd met him, how he could manage this gesture that was not one of deceit and while his characteristic bearing remained unchanged. Alpha Feralblood, Beta Nightwing, greetings. Jamie also slightly inclined her upper body forward in a bow to greet the Beta and Alpha, her polite smile accompanying the poised and practiced greeting. Having caught in her peripheral vision that they seemed busy, Jamie hadn't made her way to greet the trio of wolfriders.

Adrian slowed down as he approached the other two, eyes narrowing suspiciously at an all too familiar spark in the Captain's glare - one that usually meant someone was about to be punched or shot. And given the rifle in the man's hand, the Drill Sergeant guessed that the latter was about to happen, and he had a sinking feeling that he was the target. As soon as Damien lifted his weapon, Adrian ducked, the sound of the gunshot missing his head ringing in his ears.
Straightening once again, Adrian continued to saunter towards the Captain with a smug grin plastered on his face. Now standing in front of the two mean, he looked at Firah before nodding curtly in acknowledgement of his show of respect. Then he set his attention back on Damien and clucked his tongue disappointedly. "Now that was a horrible shot, Captain. You missed me by a foot!" Nodding his head back towards where the screams had subsided, the Drill Sergeant continued, "And you completely missed the apprentice back there too. Have you been slacking off around here?"
Nightwing snorted as the smell of ammonia invaded his delicate nose, quite disgusted that the apprentice had peed himself; what's worse, the stupid human had fainted from sheer fright. Completely bored now that the screems were no longer tearing out of the unconscious boy's throat, he looked up as he felt his Alpha approach. Even before Feral was within sight, Nightwing had laid back his ears and lowered his tail, crawling quickly out of the hole to lay submissively next to Feral.
Care for a snack? he offered the Alpha, tongue running over his lips as he glanced back down at the motionless apprentice. Then again, he doubt Feral would like such an easy target - wolves like them liked the hunt and the smell of fear that reeked off their prey. Nightwing perked one ear up as Rainingwind approached, eyeing the black male's submissive posture with satisfaction. But he offered nothing more than an acknowledging look before glancing at the woman briefly, noting that she was bowing in the human way of respect. Appeased, the Beta turned his attention back to the Alpha for direction, keeping his eyes and ears lowered.

(ooc: Apologies for the short post. ><)
Damien glared at the offending man before him and reluctantly lowered his gun. "What on earth are you blabbering about, Adrian? We don't shoot people around here. If we did, I assure you you'll be the first I hunt down," the captain offered dryly to the Drill Sergeant, vaguely wondering if he could sneak another shot in... subtly and perhaps, this time, actually hit a foot... or a arm... or just shoot the damn man in the head. Damien grinned.
Feral stared at Nightwing for a moment as though amusing himself over the pleasingly submissive He looked down at the 'snack' the other wolf was referring to in distaste... and even more so now that the unpleasant scent was caught by his nose. The alpha snorted in displeasure. Urinating on apprentices now? It was such a shame the creature was officially relieved from consciousness now.
The alpha slowly faced the new wolf and his human with a dark, irritated look that, despite what one may first think, is actually Feral's natural appearance. However, then the alpha snarled at Rainingwind out of habit than anything else. Wolf, he called to the new arrival, go drag the human out of your hole.
Damien suddenly realized something. "What apprentice?"

Again, Firah remained quiet through the other men's verbal exchange, not wanting to intrude in their odd companionship. Rocking quietly back onto his heels as his eyes wondered away from the ranking personnel, the Private subtly drew backward, slowly putting distance between them. He really wanted to continue training, but at the pace Damien and Adrian were going, he doubted he'd be able to get back to it as soon as he wanted. They wouldn't miss him, he wasn't very interesting anyways, plus his invitation for his Captain to join him still stood firm. They could always, unfortunately, shift their attention back onto him when ever it struck their fancy. In the meanwhile, he'd just be over here... shooting things.
Casting a quick glance at Firestride, who simultaneously tugged a small black pad from one of his harness bags, Firah snatched it out of the air in a small movement. /Since you have that silly pad, I don't have to do anything right? I can lay and watch?/ Yes Stride. /Good./ Making a crevice in the snow, big enough to lay the pad in, with his boots, the Private dropped to a knee. Releasing the magazine, he made sure that he had rounds left before clipping it back in. Fortunately, some of his clay targets were still standing on the pillars. Lifting the nose of his rifle from the ground, the Private fit the gun's butt into his shoulder and flicked the hair out of his face with a small flip of his head before taking aim.
Crack. Click. Crack. Click.
-- Drawing back when his Rider did, the Gamma happily curled up in the snow, his unusually thick coat blocking the cold. He really hadn't wanted to continue the drills they had been practicing earlier, especially in the presence of his Alpha. He was rather lazy today, and didn't want to push himself any more than he had to. He was in an odd slump, one that would hopefully pass. --

Both Jamie and Rainingwind’s features showed no reaction to the putrid scent that now came from the apprentice, the two having weathered many circumstances.
Having a dangerous air about him to begin with and furthermore with experience, Rainingwind didn’t flinch as he kept his bearing while in submission; an example and influence to Jamie in their training in this and in the circumstance, her composure too was kept. Understood, Alpha, were his words in reply before he descended into the hole and dragged the human out onto the surface, having griped the top front of the apprentice’s upper garment in his fangs.
Centipede battles were certainly not of lesser magnitude than this; surely: is Jamie’s belief. Retreat and evasion were strategies. Jamie deemed the apprentice’s performance as apparently lacking in strategic execution.
Some of the options included taking the apprentice to the infirmary or calling for a stretcher. However, Jamie found the option of using smelling salts to have more potential for further educational experiences for the new wolfrider especially. He didn’t appear to be physically wounded was what she took from examining the apprentice before taking the steps toward where Rainingwind had placed him, back against a pile of snow. If things turned out that using smelling salts was a bust such as: he becomes unconscious again, then the other options can again be taken into consideration. Then knelt on her heels, she held her palm before the man’s nostrils to find that he was in fact breathing through them before she procured from her pouch at her belt a bottle of smelling salts, which she held beneath his nose for several inhalations before resealing the bottle and returning it to her pouch again. After righting herself on her feet, she took several steps back to observe the outcome and give the apprentice room if he does come to.
The wolf had stepped back several steps when Jamie approached and observed too with his constant indifference while also keeping his cold stance with submission. Neither inclined nor adverse to the taste of human, Rainingwind briefly considered the man’s head as a snack if it happened that he was revived and proceeded to run and yell with fearful screams again.
