As soon as EternalRose had successfully head-butted her human companion (now call that because Rose actually has a guilty conscience), she walked away calmly as though nothing had happened. She also came to a conclusion that moving away from Rayan, who seemed to be the target for unfortunate 'accidents', would be very wise. She strolled to where Flamehaze stood and then turned to watch the two riders. She vaguely wondered if she should start defending Rayan anytime soon. Alice seemed to be a little... intense.

There was silence for a while from Rose as she watched fairly unconcerned while Alice proceeded to destroy Rayan's beloved hair. I don't think you're immature. She suddenly decided to inform Flamehaze without glancing at him.

Rayan raised an eyebrow as Alice began to walk over to him. He would've stood up, but he had to admit, his butt was little numb and staying down would be better for now - you know, in case he accidentally slipped while trying to stand up, although there wasn't much more that could be done to his suffering ego now. And his hair, maybe he should just go bald and be done with it.

Oh, what was he thinking? The cold must have momentairly turned him insane. He could never remove all these beautiful (and currently very dirty) locks!

The silence coming from the younger woman had Rayan eyeing her suspiciously. He watched as she slinked up to him with a feline grace that even he had to admire. But as soon as she bent over him, he couldn't help but stare at her chest area (he was still a guy, after all). Much to his disappointment, there wasn't anything to look at! How old was this girl again? Surely she must have something hidden underneath that shirt of hers.

Rayan hardly paid any attention to her words as he had been far too engrossed in observing her physical features - or lack thereof, in this case. He noticed the threat of her holding the snow over his head, but he simply couldn't resist the words that spilled out of his mouth. "Are you sure you're a girl?" And he even had the balls to reach out and point at her chest implicatively.

But he knew what was coming, and quickly rolled away as she dropped the snow from her hands. It still managed to wet part of his side, but at least his hair wasn't further damaged (although at this point, it was probably unsaveable). With cold laughter, Rayan jumped to his feet and backed a few steps away from the Sergeant. "You should really grow a spine, Sergeant. You'd better learn to start beating up your patrol members or they'll step all over you." A pause as he mulled over that last statement. "Well, it can't be helped, really. You're so short it's kind of easy to overlook you."

Haze frowned softly as his rider ignored the warning growl. Normally she had enough decency not to curse aloud unless her temper was beginning to flare. The battle scarred wolf was moderately surprised at how well Alice had kept so long without physically striking out at the former Sergeant. Normally after something like the 'gender-confused' remark, Alice would throttle the Apprentice or Recuit who had been foolish enough to throw such an accusation at the newly appointed Sergeant until he could quickly pull her off the mangled body. Normally, when Alice was still an Apprentice, the wolf would sit on her until she'd finally calm down. But he hadn't tried to attempt this again, now that he was fully grown. Haze relaxed at the sound of Rose's soft voice, but still kept his eyes warily on the former and new Sergeants. Thank you... he murmured appreciatively, ears flicking slightly as Rayan rolled away in time from having his hair ruined even more. I wonder... he spoke softly to the other wolf while thinking carefully. Who should we be more worried about, Alice or Rayan...?

Eyes narrowing, Alice instinctively leaned back as Rayan's hand came a bit too close for comfort. Her chest wasn't flat like most everyone believed it to be, but because she often wore such a heavy jacket, it was quite hard to tell. What she had on underneath the coat, on the other hand, made it possible to make out her feminine shape, as she wore a thin, sleeveless, nylon shirt, much like that of an Under Armour shirt. However, it was because hardly anyone saw her without the jacket that they assumed she was a boy at first glance.
"That all depends," she quipped, glancing disdainfully down towards the lower half of Rayan's body. "Are you sure you're a guy, or have you gotten carried away with too many socks?"

Alice's expression shifted tentatively at Rayan's last remark. She had been holding back before, simply for her respect of what Rayan's previous rank had been. But it had taken one sentence for Alice to so quickly throw her morals aside. "You're right," she admitted, gracefully taking another two steps towards the Private. "I really should begin establishing more ordinance with the patrol." Grinning impishly, Alice tipped her chin down and peered at him thoughtfully from beneath her brows. "Let's start with you," Hand bolting up, she quickly grasped the knot on his uniform and gave it a sharp tug froward as her knee shot up with incredible speed. However, Alice wasn't able to see if she had successfully hit her target as she was promptly raised to Rayan's eye level. The girl twisted around to see that Haze had hoisted her into the air by grasping the back of her jacket's collar much the same way a wolf would pick up a pup by the scruff of it's neck.

"Haze!" Alice barked in annoyance as she tried to squirm out of the tall wolf's grip. Put me down this instant. I have to kick this bloke's a**! Are you listening to me? Don't pull away; that's retreating!!

Ignoring his rider's complaints, Flamehaze grunted irritably as the girl swung feebly from his jaws. It was like having a little pup of a sister who needed to be pulled away whenever she poked her nose in places where it didn't belong. He attempted to pull Alice back so she wouldn't be in kicking range of Rayan, but the girl held firmly onto the knot of the distraught Private's uniform.

Most women, or as Rayan had discovered from his many personal intimate experiences, become very defensive of their bosom when insulted. And as a result, he had also become very quick to defend his own privates immediately after such an insult from him (but that had taken a couple of trial runs before the immature boy he had been in his teens realized that women did not like to be called flat-chested). However, he wasn't as accustomed to verbal retorts, especially one that wrongfully pointed out the size of his manhood. Now his physical embodiment might not have been as large as his male ego, but he was still rather proud of it.

"Darling, I'll let you find out just how many socks I've got. You free tonight?" he asked in a husky tone, his red eyes darkening at the inappropriate images running through his head. Rayan smirked to himself, glad for once that Rose couldn't read his mind (actually, he was always thankful she couldn't see the vulgar thoughts that crossed his mind on a minutely basis - she would've been mentally scarred for life). In all reality, he wondered how Shadow could've stood reading his mind all the time; the poor wolf was probably corrupted by him! That would explain a lot...

The Sergeant's movement towards him had Rayan on edge because he just had the inkling that she was taking his words to heart and that she was going to start the 'beating up' on him. But he had been so busy keeping an eye on her knees that he completely failed to move out of the way as her hand shot up towards him. Fortunately for him, she only reached out to tug at his knot (not that she moved him much given her size in comparison to his). But Rayan did notice her knee shooting up, a second too late to avoid the contact - which hit him straight in the thighs. Now if she had been taller, it would've hit something far more precious.

"Now who's imma-agh!" Rayan found himself pulled forcibly forward, vaguely wondering where in the world she had suddenly found a spurt of strength. Upon further scrutiny, he noticed that it was the wolf who had the Sergeant by the scruff and she still had a death grip on him. "Darling, if you wanted me this much, just say so. No need to drag me around... unless you're into that sort of stuff?" Even in his current circumstance he managed to give her an implicative wink.

"And I'm sorry, wolfling, but you can't join in on this one. I imagine it would be rather painful.. for me," he addressed Flamehaze as an afterthought. But then again, the wolf dropping the rider wouldn't necessarily help to release the tight hold she had on him. Rayan would simply have to resort to other measures.

"Ro~ose, my dear. If you come remove this runt from my shirt, I'll get you some cinnamon buns."

Rose let her gold eyes flicker to Haze when he spoke. The beta brought up a good point although 'worry' was not the term she would use. Who should they root for, would be more accurate. Sadly for Rayan (her 'rider'), she did not have an immediate answer.

Suddenly, Haze seemed to notice things getting out of hand and started towards the pair. EternalRose moved with him from instinct but paused when she realized what the darker wolf was trying to do. She looked from one human to the other as they threw insults at eachother at a frightening speed. Luckily for Rayan, his vulgar comments passed over her head along with the rest of the two human's pleasent conversation. Standing a few feet from the two arguing creatures and the beta, she vaguely wondered if she sould do something.

Cinnamon buns. Her ears instantly perked at those heavenly words appearing from Rayan's lips. She looked at her human eagerly and then rewinded what he said in her mind. Her undivided attention was then drawn to Alice.

Her eyes suddnely darkened and her once bored expression turned deadly serious. A low snarl erupted from her throat as golden eyes glared steadily at Alice as she more or less stalked over to the trio. Her lips and bared ivory fangs were now so close to the girl's arms that the woman could probably feel Rose's warm breath. The pink wolf was clearly intent on making Alice let go and knowing Rose, the wolf would think little of a bite or two to accomplish her task (after all, Rayan survived several of her nips before).
PostPosted: Fri Jan 09, 2009 3:01 pm

"Hah!" Alice mocked scornfully with a wild glint in her eyes. "As if a woman wanted anything to do with you or your pathetic sock collection." The girl let out a growl that would put an adolescent wolf to shame. I have a half a mind to shove my steel-toed boot straight up his a-ack! She didn't even have time to notice the pink, threatening muzzle that was near her arm as she was suddenly was dropped from the darker wolf's jaws. Normally, she would have clung onto the Private's knot in a 'If I'm going down, then you're going with me' fashion, but she dare not take the risk that the older male might fall onto her, thus releasing the knot just before she hit the ground with a sickening thud.

Haze's stood over Alice's fallen form in a rigid stance. He would normally take on a threatening pose and utter a dark snarl in warning to the wolf who had threatened his rider. Yet it seemed the tall wolf was trying to hold back from imposing an offensive posture towards Rose. His eyes still held a wild look about them while his jaws were clenched tightly together, but his stance looked more like that of a rabid animal's than a fierce, protective wolf. Despite the startling look that the wolf held, his inner voice sounded weak and frail. Please... don't, was all he was able to murmur to the light wolf.

Alice groaned irritably as a warm, wet feeling spread over the back of her head. She pulled herself into a sitting position and muttered a string of curses under her breath before turning to see a rock jutting from the snow from where she had been dropped. "Bloody brilliant," she hissed as she stood up. Sweeping up the rock with one swift movement of her arm, the Sergeant chucked the offending stone a good 60 yards away. She grumbled harshly as she dusted off her hands. Try not to give me a comma when you drop me next time, Haze. she mumbled before realizing that Haze wasn't listening. Turning around, Alice noticed Haze's feral posture. "Calm down," she muttered as she inspected her coat for any scratches. But as Haze didn't respond, the girl became agitated. "Oi, knock that off, Haze!" She attempted to mentally address the wolf, but winced and clutched the back of her head as she found it extremely painful to do so.

Haze's eyes softened as though the wolf had broken out of a trance at recognition of his rider's voice. Ears falling back against his head as he realized what he had almost done, Haze allowed his eyes to fall as he sat shamefully beside Alice. The wolf became deathly silent as he stared down at the ground.

Alice sighed and patted the dark wolf's shoulder. "You're gonna give someone a heart attack one of these days." she chuckled consolingly. Much as Alice's temper tended to break whenever someone caught her in a bad mood, Haze tended to become savage whenever a friend was at threat. However, it was because it was Rose that had merely tried to spook the girl into letting go of the boy that Haze had prevented from lashing out.

"Well, now that that's over with," Alice spun on her heel and faced Rayan once more, hands on her hips as she grinned deviously as though nothing happened. "Where were we again?" Tilting her head to the side inquisitively, the girl didn't seem to notice Flamehaze staring anxiously at something on the back of her head.

Rayan would've given himself a nice pat on the back (literally) if he hadn't still ben in the woman's death grip. He knew Rose loved cinnamon buns and that a simple mention could get her to do pretty much anything short of attacking Feral (although that would've been interesting to see). However, he also noticed that the sudden threat from Rose had Haze on edge. But his attention was momentarily lost as he felt the tension of the pull released and he nearly stumbled backwards.

"Hey!" he muttered in surprise before realizing that this had been what he wanted. Rayan allowed a triumphant smirk to spread over his face as he looked down at Alice, ready to say something utterly cool. But his expression fell into one of concern when he noticed that she seemed to be in pain. Not that he cared for her personally, but he had always been caring towards his Patrol (especially as a Sergeant) and old habits die hard.

For the moment, Rayan disregarded the tension that had developed before the two wolves, knowing full well that Rose was more than capable of talking her way out of sticky situations (or fighting, if cinnamon buns were involved). But he watched Alice carefully and noted that she was favoring the back of her head, and the rock she had just thrown away looked suspiciously red. Yet the woman seemed not to notice her own injury, which he thought was incredibly stupid.

So when she addressed him, Rayan ignored her and strode quickly around her to examine the back of her head. As expected, she was bleeding and didn't even know it! "Stupid, you're hurt! How do you expect to take care of others when you can't even take care of yourself!" Honestly, he hadn't meant to sound so harsh, but he always got frustrated when any of his Patrol members got harmed. And to not notice? He had half a mind to throw her over his shoulder and take her to the healers, but that might not have sat well with Haze, especially since he already seemed on edge.

"Sorry, Rose, but your cinnamon buns will have to wait. This idiotic woman over here needs to go see a medic before there's any permanent damage," he gave Rose a stern look, knowing she would probably trample him for keeping her away from her favorite treat. Turning back to Alice, he realized he might've sounded a little too concerned. He quicky rectified that. "Not that it would matter, you don't have much in that brain to begin with."

The instant Flamehaze moved, Rose out of instinct pressed her whole body against the ground submissively. Her ears were pressed flat and her tail tucked between her legs. However, her fangs were still bared in such ferocity that it almost looked unnatural on EternalRose. For a split second, madness seemed to bleed into her eyes and for that small moment, she looked almost uncontrollably wild. Hey! Instantly, she snapped out of it before Rayan could notice. Her body fell almost limp and her eyes dulled to its original calm. She rose from her crouch slowly and cautiously as golden eyes watched with wary expression as the beta wolf sat down. Rose seemed to be bracing herself for punishment from the higher ranking wolf; however, none came.

Rose only seemed willing to take her intense gaze off Haze when Rayan moved past her still figure to get to the woman. The man turned to her to say something about … something; however, the pink wolf heard none of it. Her eyes were focused on Alice. After some thinking and reanalyzing, Rose concluded that the woman had probably hurt herself because of Rose. After all, Haze would not have been forced to let go if not for Rose's actions.

The gamma wolf approached the woman in a half-crouch with her ears flat against her head. A soft whimper could be heard when Rose neared the two humans as a form of apology. I do apologize for my actions, She said timidly to Haze; however, it was clear the message was directed more towards his rider who was apparently currently hurt. Rose glanced to her rider.

Alice frowned and sighed exasperatedly as Rayan came over, so sure that he was going to gloat his superiority after her little fall. However, the girl was moderately taken aback as he pointed out her stupidity for getting hurt. A deadpan expression fell over her face as she thought to herself 'That, of all things...'. She had figured she had only bumped her head and obtained a nasty-looking bump, but was mildly surprised when she removed her hand from the back of her head to see the white stripes on her gloves were stained in a dark crimson liquid. "Bugger..." she murmured before hastily switching her gaze back to the older male. "Well excuse me if I don't have freakin' eyes on the back of my bloody head!" she hissed as she tore the blood-stained evidence from her hand and shoved it in her pocket. Alice relaxed a bit as she strained to hear what Haze was trying to say to her, but in her shock-stricken mind, it sounded like a bunch of gibberish. "Not to worry," she assured the wolf with a toothy grin at his worried expression. "Nothing some staples can't handle."

Haze looked at his rider through the corner of his eyes with concern at the mention of staples. Surely this girl hit her head harder than he thought... His attention was adverted as Rose spoke up. He tried to prevent from cringing as she tried to take the blame for what happened to Alice. He was mentally abusing himself for nearly taking up such a lethal stance before, and the fact that Rose had shrank down in submission only made him hate himself even more. It's not your fault... he replied solemnly as he tried to find another reason to mentally disown himself. He still wasn't sure what cinnamon buns were, but figured they were to Rose as Klondike bars were to humans... and he wasn't quite sure what those were either.

A twitch passed over Alice's features briefly at mention of a medic. Hell. No. She cocked a brow at Rayan's last statement and folded her arms over her chest. "Obviously." she snorted sarcastically. "Because everyone knows Damien would chose someone completely clueless to take the position of a Sergeant. What was he thinking?" Keeping her gaze firm and steady was hard when there was warm, sticky blood trickling down her neck and seeping into her undershirt.

Rayan glanced over at Rose as he heard her whimper, the soft sound familiar to his ears but his expected reaction not. He'd seen her submit to Feral and previous Alphas before, and even to Shadow at first - but the last few years, the two had passed that point and she had been more affectionate than timid with him. But when she did feel uncomfortable, Telia had always been there to comfort and reassure. And now that task had fallen on him. Yet given their recently forged relationship, Rayan wasn't sure what was appropriate.

The man was torn between his emotions. For one, he wanted to reach out and run an comoforting hand through her fur, but he risked crossing the line of intimacy that was reserved for a truly bonded pair (and getting his fingers bitten off). But then she looked at him as if she wanted some sort of confirmation... so Rayan simply nodded in reassurance. An affectionate glance that was indeed true, for he had been growing closer and closer to this wolf, even if he couldn't hear her thoughts.

A sudden outbrust from Alice had his attention back on the woman, and Rayan could only roll his eyes at her comment. "You don't need eyes to feel the wetness, fool," he scoffed as he crossed his arms again. Honestly, he had no idea how she had survived the few years she had been in the Patrol. Maybe her wolf was smarter than she looked... or she just really hated him and did everything in her power to frustrate him. In that case, shame on her!

"If only I knew what Damien had been thinking choosing you as Sergeant. I do believe he had been incapacitated at the time," Rayan retorted with a disdainful glance at her figure. Again, he'll never figure out what the Captain had been thinking appointing some so young and inexperienced. But then Feral would never allow his human to choose an idiotic pair as Beta, so there must be some sort of reason behind his insanity. But only time would tell.

"Darling, are you going to keep glowering at me? Because honestly, I don't mind if you let yourself bleed to death out here. Although if you really wanted to do that, I'd suggest going somewhere warmer so the blood runs out of your head faster." Not one to rant, but Rayan was becoming incredibly frustrated at her lack of concern for her own welfare. He would've hit her over the head for acting so proud, but that would definitely not help her. But the longer she stood out here in the cold...

Rayan's annoyance shifted quickly to concern once again. It really wouldn't do to have the newly appointed Sergeant die out in snow because she had been too stubborn to see a medic. "Seriously, you need to get inside and see a medic." Their ranks currently forgotten, Rayan reverted back to his habitual commanding tone as his voice left no room for argument (though knowing her, she'd probably fight back anyways). "Now."

Her eyes narrowed at lack for a witty response on her part. The more blood she lost, the more she lost her knack of a sharp tongue. So badly did she want to pull out of her drenched jacket at that moment, however she would not risk standing in the cold in her thin, sleeveless shirt.
The young woman glanced down at the pink wolf with a look of forgiving, leaning up against Haze as her vision started to swim in front of her and shielded her eyes with her bare hand, as though the sun's glare had intensified tenfold. She didn't truly hate Rayan, but she didn't believe that a cut to the back of the head would make him change his mood towards her. She had taken enough crap from everyone else in patrol and the last thing she needed was the man whose position she had taken to be ridiculing her as well. Unaware of Haze trying to lick away the blood at the base of her skull, Alice scoffed warily.

"If you're so disappointed with Damien's decision, then why don't you let me die out here?" she murmured, slowly loosing the strength from her voice but managing to keep a firm posture. She doubted a cut to the back of the head would kill her, but maybe it would get the persistent Private to back off. "You can convince our Captain to replace me with a more obedient girl, like a little puppy, with more respect towards her elders and a much larger chest... something more to your liking, eh gov'ner?"

Alice lifted her head from her hand and glared at the man standing before her. The last thing that would make her back down from help was her pride. No, she had more personal reasons against the medics.
"If the medics couldn't save my mother,"
she retorted darkly. "Then what could I possibly expect for them to do for me?" Alice was quite sensitive on the topic of her mother and would refrain from mentioning her at all to anyone, but the blow to the back of her head had caused her train of thought to become distorted. There was a twinge of pain beneath the hard shell of her glare, however she wouldn't resort to crying over her late mother at a time like this. A thought occurred to the young woman and she was back to her teasing disposition, or at least an attempt at trying to be good humored. A weak smirk crawled onto her face. "Or what?" Her tone of voice had returned to being silky and mature. Obviously she wouldn't put up much of a fight if Rayan dragged her to the medic himself, considering her current state. (not that she could overpower him in the first place) However, if Alice could somehow smooth talk her way out of a one-way trip to the medic, then maybe Rayan would give up and leave her alone. The only problem with that, was all the years of experience of dealing with pleading Apprentices that Rayan had tucked under his belt.
PostPosted: Sat Jan 10, 2009 2:01 pm

For the love of Eve, he had never met such a stubborn woman! Not even Telia had been this difficult, unless you counted the fact that she completely ignored him for the first year and whipped him around like a dog the next. Still, Rayan had to resist the urge to slap Alice - he would not stoop so low as to hit a woman. But if he had to resort to physical measures, he still would. Just because she was a Sergeant wouldn't stop him from man-handling her if he had to.

"Now what kind of a Sergeant, past or present, would allow someone in their Patrol to die?" he scolded her, somewhat annoyed that she had even thought of such a thing. Rayan admitted that he was always armed with verbal assaults, but to allow another living being to die? Well if he had wanted that, then he wouldn't have become a Wolfrider! Silly woman. "True, that's more to my liking in intimate settings. But I certainly wouldn't want a brainless bimbo to be leading the riders out into a battle with razor-jawed pests."

A quick glance at her chest as Rayan thought that over again. "You could do with a nicer chest though, some people might confuse you for a boy. Or maybe it's the hair..." Not that he really cared, but he couldn't help pointing out physical flaws. He was a shallow man and he wasn't afraid to admit it.

"Listen, you stubborn mule. I don't care what happened to your mother, but YOU need to get to a medic." And without a second thought, Rayan strode up to her and grabbed her around the waist, throwing her small frame over his shoulder like a potato sack. Good thing she was so tiny or he'd be stumbling all over the place right now. He shot a hard stare at Flamehaze. "Don't you dare argue with me, wolfling. Your rider needs to be healed and you know it."

Rose watched the exchange between the two humans nervously. The pale-colored wolf could almost sense the irritation rolling of Rayan even without a bond (it was actually not that hard to tell). It caused her to become more restless as the two continued their bickering or flirting or whatever it could be considered. She wasn't such how badly Alice was hurt; however, she could smell the distinct and uncomfortable metallic scent of blood lingering in the air. Surely Alice would want to get that checked. She didn't understand very clearly why the human was so strongly against the idea. Perhaps being with Rayan was started to kill her logical brain cells faster than Rose had anticipated.

Suddenly, Rayan moved forwards and Rose perked her ears curiously and fairly enthusiastically. Although she expected the man to do something dramatic, Rose was still slightly surprised and highly amused when her human companion swung the woman over his shoulder. Although she was not usually one to support kidnapping or manhandling, Rose was silently cheering him on. She moved forwards instantly realizing Rayan would probably want a faster transportation (i.e. wolf)… although watching him run to the medics himself would be quite amusement. Unfortunately, they also had Alice to consider.

Rose paused. She suddenly remembered Flamehaze when Rayan spoke up again. She dropped her ears back to its proper position and eyed him warily. Frequent encounters with Feral made her very cautious of higher ranking wolves. Slowly, she started towards Rayan again and nudged her large head between his feet. In one swift movement, she hoisted Rayan and his 'baggage' onto her back. I do apologize for kidnapping your rider… perhaps you would like to supervise? She offered Haze timidly as she started to move towards where the medics should be located.

"Someone who doesn't appreciate the person who's taken his rank?" Alice suggested dazedly, wrapping an arm around Haze's neck as she felt herself swaying to the side. "You're not exactly the first person to think that someone else should be in my place because of my age or height or whatever the hell it is that you people care about."
The girl tilted her head to the side and smirked slightly as Rayan indicated to her chest. "Oh there is something there," she corrected. "You just haven't tried to find out." she stated with challenge mixed into her tone. Everything word beyond 'hair' was blocked out as the young woman felt a splitting migraine coming on. So oblivious to everything around her, Alice yelped in surprise as her waist was suddenly grabed and was thrown over the former Sergeant's shoulder like some sack of potatoes. A flustered shade of pink crawled onto her pale-white face. "What are you doing?!?" she breathed, trying to struggle out of the Private's grasp. Finding there were no weak points to kick or punch, Alice settled with ruffling Rayan's destroyed hair and pushing over his face.

"You are to set me down this instant!" she demanded fiercely. "Private, that is an order." However, Alice was forced to hold onto the the back of Rayan's uniform shirt as they were hoisted onto Rose's back. "This is mutiny!" she muttered while trying to squirm of of Rayan's hold to no avail. Haze, would you be so kind as to get-"DAMMIT!" she yelled before pressing her face into Rayan's back to prevent any further screaming as she clasped both of her hands on the back of her soaked head. She was able to ignore the pain before, but this was just unbearable. Trying to mentally speak to Flamehaze had sent a searing pain from the wound throughout the rest of her mind. The Sergeant cringed and became deathly quiet, no longer wasting any of her energy on useless protesting.

Haze only watched in bewilderment as the older human picked up his rider and threw her over his shoulder. Then Rose proceeded to slip both the riders onto her back. His ears flicked back lightly at the stare he received from the male before turning towards the lighter voice of Rose. It's quite alright... he assured with a gentle smile. Even if Alice had succeeded in getting your human to leave her alone, I probably would have tried to convinced her to see a medic anyway... Your method only makes it easier. With that, he stood and fell behind step of the paler wolf. He winced slightly as the part of his mind that he used to communicate telepathically shared the same burning experience when his rider tried to talk to him.

"Darling, I'm not that shallow when it comes to the Patrol. Your inexperience is what makes me think you are unfit for this rank, and until you prove otherwise..." Rayan allowed the sentence to hang, not wanting to admit that she was already on the verge of impressing him with her defensive and stubborn (yet annoying) attitude. And to resist his manly charms, why that definitely deserved to have some recognition!

Ignoring her protests, Rayan proceeded to stalk towards the healer's building (which he had momentarily forgotten the exact location of, so he was just walking aimlessly for now). But her remark had him slightly intrigued - was she inviting him to grope her? Well, he was pretty close to doing it now anyways, might as well since she did give him permission.

"Stop arguing with me, Sergeant. I'm still bigger than you," Rayan retorted as he countered her pulling rank by pulling...size. He'd never been one to listen to his superiors before and he wasn't about to start now. But before he could say anymore, he found himself loosing balance as the ground rose up under him. It took him a few seconds to keep a good hold of Alice and keep his own balance until he realized that it had simply been Rose coming to give them a lift. How kind of her.

"Thanks, Rose," he said affectionately, resisting the urge to rub the wolf's neck (since doing so would require dropping the woman over his shoulders). But then Rayan noticed that she had pressed her head into his back and grown deathly silent, which worried him. He shifted her as gently as he could and pulled her down from over his shoulder, allowing her to sit in front of him.

Rayan looked over her head, which was easy considering her shorter stature, and noted that the wound was worse than it had looked before. "Hey, don't fall asleep on me now." He shook her gently, enough to keep her conscious but hopefully not too hard as to cause her more pain. Glancing back, he noticed that Haze was also following. Good, if she accidentally fell off, hopefully the other wolf would be quick enough to catch her.

But really, she should be honored to be in this position. Any other woman would kill to be sitting here so intimately with him. "I still need you alive to take you up on that challenge. And who knows, maybe I'll let you find out some things too," he offered suggestively with a smirk, not caring if she looking at him or not. Even in face of such a serious situation, Rayan would always be Rayan - aka a guy.
