I would argue thats one of the few problems with our legal system.
I wish it were one of a few problems with our system, but it seems to be one of many.
Don't get me wrong, I'd rather stand trial in the US than anywhere else except for Canada, the UK, France, Germany, Switzerland, and Australia.
I'll take the crappy public defender over getting caned in Singapore any day.
