"Indeed." The lioness agreed. Whether it was a blessing or a curse depended on the lions themselves in question, really.
"She must have been a very busy mother." Waridi'eusi said thoughtfully.

"Probably." Maha nodded. "But we..err..the other adults help her out." By 'we' she meant her family and more importantly her parents and older sister.
"And they have an older brother, adopted though, who makes sure they don't get in too much trouble."

She smiled. "That's nice of your family. It isn't easy to keep so many cubs in check." The mother must be proud of them despite the large number. Most mothers were, of their children. It was all dependent on the individual.
"I always wanted an older brother." She confessed gently. "Someone playful yet gives you a sense of security, someone who can protect you." It just seemed rather...nice.

"It is pretty good. Having an older sister kind of the same." Maha said thoughtfully "It's cool 'cause you know that if some other cub dares to pick on you she'll scare them away." The spotted cub laughed at the image in her head. She couldn't quite imagine Omoa being scary but she bet she could.

"Me and my sister simply took care of one another. Of course," She paused, and smiled wistfully, "she always was the one getting into trouble, so I had to be the caretaker often. Even when I was the younger one."

"Oh, I wouldn't like it if Omoa turned me into her caretaker. Nu-uh!" Maha shook her head. Older siblings were supposed to look after the younger ones. That's how she saw it. "I wouldn't mind helping her, but I'm still too little." She added.

"Size doesn't matter, really." An amused grin spread on her face. "What matters is whether you're willing to help or not. In other words, it all depends on your heart." The lioness raised a paw and place it gently on the cub's chest.

Maha looked at the paw on her chest thoughtfully. She though over Waridi's words in her mind and a bright smile appeared on her face as they sank in. "So you're saying..I shouldn't be afraid and that I shouldn't give up?" She asked hesitantly, looking back at the lioness. "That I just have to..believe in myself?"

"Exactly." She nodded, getting up to stretch her legs as she gazed at the darkening sky thoughtfully before turning back to the cub again. "I believe you can do it, Maha."
"But now," She murmured, nosing Maha towards the Simbafutaji lands as she backed away from it. "It's late and you should get home."

Maha felt a little embarrassed by her comment and smiled shyly. "I..thank you."
She looked behind her, in the direction of the dens. Waridi was right. And her parents were probably worried. Maha looked back at the dark lioness, a little sad that she had to leave. "It was nice meeting you, Waridi." She smiled "I hope we'll meet again..someday."
With one last look at the rogue, Maha hurried back to her home.
