DarkMusica Jayce Reinhardt Pincurls and fingerwaves! *Is a licensed hair stylist* how do you get hair to do this? some one please tell me... i was sitting in front of my mirror this morning for 2 hours trying to get my very straight flat hair to wave like this .... should i just cover my hear in gel and shape it ? i dont want to do that though because then it would feel like plastic!~ gonk If you ever find out, let me know. It's such a difficult to style to get right yourself, the pin-curls (which are at the bottom) I can do, but the finger-waves are just... eek! Here is an article about pin-curls, and I've always found the ladies at The Fedora Lounge very helpful and friendly. Good luck! xx

More so if you have a friend helping. They look like this. And I see a few auctions for some cheap on Ebay.

I usually wear my hair short (about bob length) and layer it and have it asymetrical. I've always thought it was super easy to make steampunk. Long hair is a pain in the a**. Somehow I think my hair is more steampunk short rather than my usual long hair styling of a simple ponytail or french twist.

I would wear it sort of windblown and or messy. It'd look really good with goggles.
What color is your hair? If it's brown, get some golden-blond highlights to make it look brassy. Whatever you do, don't straighten it and wear dead straight sidebangs with your steampunk gear. It wont look right, and I've seen it happen too many times at cons.

I actually have very short hair as well (for a girl)~ and its wavy. Usually, I straighten it, but I think short wavy hair goes very well with old-fashioned clothes

Okay- For the pictures on how to get that hairstyle- I get it on a daily basis if I don't style my hair and I hate it...
I don't know how your guys' hair is- But you might want to try curling shampoo and really messing it up after the shower to get the second look- then use hairpins etc.
As for the first one- Its hard to explain. The big waves at the front- I just plainly get with my bangs.... My hair is just like... naturally wavy and with curling shampoo it has soft curls.

Ambrose Closer While "Last Exile" may not be Steampunk, a lot of people interested in this genre enjoy that movie, and several of the main characters have very well defined short bobs. Also, well-defined ringlets were popular for children in the Victorian Era, and look awesome besides. As a final note- I agree, pincurls rock! They hurt my head way too much for me to do with my long hair, but with short hair it may be far easier and practical biggrin I like the idea of of the pin-up curls, it's a cute look in general, plus Last Exile is an anime series, not a movie...just thought I'd add that note.
