Siats noticed the gold bracelet design on the other Palui. Such a shame real jewelry didn't decorate the palui. Then Khepri would be a styling mofo. Perhaps they could go looking for gold. He started to snicker.
They could try their hand at poaching. All sorts of thoughts passed through his head before he replied.
"It's a pleasant day outside. Do you like to swim?"

Khepri watches him with her left ear flicking just a little again. What was that snickering for? Surely he wasn't aiming it at her.. "Swim? If it isn't too deep yeah, but Anuk says that the deep water can have mean water palui in it that can try and pull you under in their games."

"That sounds quite frightening" responded Siats in a grave manner that was quite opposite to what he had on mind. On his mental performance stage he imagined a Khepri in a comical rough and tumble with other water Palui, perhaps fish and coconuts were involved. He almost cackled.
"I actually have never seen a water palui. Are they that mean-spirited?" he asked. He was sort of tempted to go on an expedition with Khepri to see the elusive water sprites.

A shrug that mimicked what she'd seen some two-legged animals do gives the end result of more fluff surrounding her muzzle. "I've never seen one, but Anuk never lies so.. if he says they're like that then they must be. I think. But if they re mean like that, i don't think they can run on land right? So we'd be able to outrun them and they'd dry out like a fish!"

The other palui had mentioned his brother so much that Siats was wondering if he had a brother complex, until he realized he had a different dynamic with his family.
"I have siblings, too, but they all like to run with their friends instead. Ootoro is the eldest brother. He's built like a ninja with dark colors and purple. He runs with his lion friends. Hot Chocolate is my new sister, but she prefers flowerpicking over rough and tumbling. She's an ice palui. She might have been a cuckoo'd egg." Siats twitched his tail over his shoulder and chewed on it absently. His siblings never mentioned other water paluis. Perhaps he would gain mad "street cred" if he came back with his own tales of exploration.
With newly alighted flames in his eyes he proposed the idea "Shall we go looking for some near the water? You're right, we can just outrun then!"

Khepri listens intently to his description of his own siblings, though an ear twitches at the mention of that Ootoro one. "Lion friends? Oh you have an ice palui for a sister? That's neat! Does she have jewelry like you too?" Her question is forgotten when Siats takes the moment to chew on his tail over his shoulder.
"I bet we can find some! There's lots of water."

Siats thought about explaining more about his family, but an adventure awaited them. Flipping back his slightly drooled on tail, he stood alert. Oh the stories he could tell them about his motley family. Hot Chocolate was hanging around lately with this rainbow Fire palui. Perhaps after their exploration of water palui he could ask Khepri if he or his bro, Anuk, knew any fire ones.
He barked out, "KEEP ALERT, KEEP ALIVE" before galloping westward to the nearest body of water.
Stopping a few meters away he looked over his shoulder for the other Palui and smiled, " Be vewwy, vewwy quiet...I'm hunting wabbits! "
"I mean, Follow me. Let's go find us some WATER WABBITS"

Khepri flicks her own tail watching Siats release his and pricks both ears forward intently.
She hardly gets a moment to mention his now mussed tail when he runs off with that loud alert. "Hey waitup!" Padding after him quickly when he stops to look back again, her ears flick backwards before pricking up like before. "Wabbits? What's a wabbit??"

"A Wabbit's a rabbit. You know, cute, plump things with fluffy tails and large ears" yelled Siats, not taking time out from his running to answer. Like a giddy pup on the morning of Christmas, he wanted to see a water palui. So what if his description was a little ambiguous, and could be used to describe other types of palui. Khepri was a smart lad.
Siats slowed down to allow for the Khepri to catch up. Lulling in step he asked, "Oi, K Monster, do you think we can befriend one? If it's nice enough? Or maybe it'll introduce us to a tidal pool" he gulped.
He could see the blue in the distance.

"Rabbit? Those are big though, you must be really good to hunt those." She tries to keep up with his pace and flicks her tail in slight annoyance before he finally slows down.
"K Monster? I said my name's Khepri." Her ears p***k forward though at the rest. "If we can't be friends.. then we can outrun them before they make us get in the water? or.. kick a bunch of sand and dirst in their face to get away.."

The pair were approaching Hokepi Springs. The blue water could be seen on the horizon. Khepri and Siats were but a 100 yards away. He abruptly stopped behind tall grasses to consult with the other Palui. Now they would have to plan their next course of action.
"How should we approach them? If we go to the water, will they come out? I hope they won't pull us under"
