"I have a sister you know..." He said suddenly as they walked. He still had a light limp in his gait but it was obviously getting better. As he walked he checked that she was following, not that he needed to, every once in a while.

"She's a lot like you..." He leads her on until the trees get thinner. He stops for a moment sniffing and exploring the area before he shoulders two large leaves out of the way. He reveals a ridge that shows the area around the jungle. The very one he'd jumped from to rescue her from her attacker. "This is as far as I go." He says looking down at her.

"Now my pride has a small tradition." He says leaning his head down to her level. "When the sun touches the earth in the evening, we roar. Do you know how to roar?"

Siku followed after the large lion with a decent amount of speed to keep up a good pursuit with him. For once she didn't lag or wander off to another area when her attention was snagged onto something. As she followed in his wake, her paws stepped into the light imprints Eyal left behind in the soft, moist earth.

"A sister? And she's like me? Wow....is that why you put up with me so well?" Kisikusiku asked out of curiosity.

For one who had kept up so nicely with the adult, the idea that she was paying attention to what was in front of her was shattered when Eyal stopped in his walk. A thud was heard and a sudden pressure hit Eyal as the side of Siku's face met the back of his hind-leg. "Ow!" She yowled in pain. Recoiling to a crouched position it took a moment for the youth to compose herself back to the level her attention had been at earlier, if not higher.

As she came around to stand at Eyal's side, the cub was met with the pretty view of a new scenery at the height they now were at. Upon closer inspection, Siku recognized the area and it was no coincidence that a shiver immediately bolted down her spine afterwards. Yet that was in the past and she was now beside Eyal who seemed to be ready to protect her with his life if the situation called for it. There was nothing to worry or fear now.

The black ears stood at attention upon Siku's head at the mention of 'tradition'. Surely this would be interesting whatever Eyal was going to tell her. As he spoke, she listened intently to what he had to say. Already her youthful mind wandered to picture of Eyal along with his pride members releasing a great bellow of a roar into the sky. It seemed unreal and beautiful in the vision she painted.

The next question that Eyal asked baffled the sturdy Siku in an instant. "Do I know how to roar? Do I know how to roar!? Of course I do! Not to worry. I'm the best there is you know." Lies entangled her words as they spilled from her mouth with the speed and mass of a waterfall. A hint of truth lied in her words that were mixed with deception. She knew how to roar...just not very good. Yet SIku aimed to please this one, so if he wanted to know if she could roar, certainly she would not tell him the terrible truth.

He chuckles slightly, deep and rich. "Maybe. I never thought of it like that." He glances down when she bumps into his hind leg and rolls is eyes. "Try not to hurt yourself."

Eyal smirked slightly. He had been that age and remembered his 'roar'. "Oh? The best?" He asksed raising an eyebrow. "Perhaps you would be willing to give me a demonstration then? After all, I have to hear the best roar ever." He said nodding toward the horizion. "Go on."

The look that befell Siku was of pride as Eyal gave her the go-ahead. Like a bird readying itself to sing, the young cub's chest inflated and puffed outwards. Of course this strong spectacle of youth's confidence in oneself was not exactly what lied on the inside. Beneath the fur, Siku was trembling as her body experienced wave after wave of panic and uneasiness.

Maybe she shouldn't have jumped to brag. Her roar was not as strong as this male's would be and he would certainly mention it to her. But...she shouldn't stop now. She'd be giving Eyal the satisfaction that she couldn't do it.

So, finding what was buried deep inside her chest, Siku exhaled the air and inhaled one more gulp. Her claws buried into the earth to keep her body still and ready. That was the final bit that she needed to become prepared for this mighty roar.

One...Two...Three....

Siku bellowed out a roar that shook her throat and released a weight that had sat heavily on her shoulder blades for the past few hours. To Eyal, it was not strong and certainly was predictable for a little one, Yet to Siku, it was the best roar she had done in a long time.

Eyal watched her with intersted green eyes. As she prepared he gave a slight chuckle. She was sure eager to please him. He lifts his ears to wait when she inhales so powerfuly.

Once the roar is released Eyal gives her a slight smirk. "Hmm... Not bad." He compliments. Better then his squeal as a cub. "My turn..."

He inhales and releases a powerful roar of his own. It echos around the ridge and reaches for the sun. He looks over at the cub with a light smirk. "It seems a bit rusty."

Siku gave Eyal a large grin at the compliment she received from him. It felt good to be able to make him happy, as if a great warmth had wrapped itself around her and held her close.

The warm fuzzy feeling lasted until they were scared away by the great roar that rocked the earth floor. Immediately Siku turned her now wide eyed gaze onto Eyal. Her bottom jaw hung open in shock at the mighty roar he had released. She recalled it from the day he saved her from the beast, and even now it was just as terrifying even though no terror had presented itself to them now.

A few moments passed before the stunned, astruck cub gathered herself with a shake of her head to meet Eyal's eyes with a proud gaze. "Eyal...that was...incredible."

Eyal smirked with pride. That was just the reaction he was going for. He laid down next to her, his leg tiring of him standing. "Was it? I thought it was a bit off..." He chuckled then he watches her, his tail flickering. He rests his head down but keeps watching her. "Who knows... you have a decent start. I was still stilll making sqeaks at that point." He closes his eyes and rests his head on his paws.

He wasn't sure why he brought her out. He assumed it was a thank you for all her help. She seemed to enjoy going anywhere with him. He yawns slightly and starts to lick at his shoulder. His leg is sore again. "We should probably head back." He offers, standing and moving back toward where he stayed.

Without saying anything, Siku instinctively wandered closer to his side after Eyal had rested his belly to the cool earth floor. "So...I'm better than you were?" She asked as she sat herself down beside him. A wide grin, full of pride and happiness, formed when she said this and realized what it meant.

The young cub watched Eyal rise and her smile turned into a disappointed frown. She enjoyed staying out like this with him and observing the world outside her own. A world that was cruel but amazing. It was that world that had brought her and this other lion together. How could she not find it fascinating?

"Do we have to head back so soon?" Siku whined once she decided she was going to try and keep Eyal around long enough to watch the sun fully set over the horizon.

"Hmm, I guess you are." He responds flicking one of his ears in her direction. He almost looks like he's smiling but it quickly disappears as if he noticed it himself.

He looked over his shoulder, his tail shifting slowly in the wind. He gazed toward the setting sun then toward the cub that merely wanted his attention. He lets out a soft sigh and drops down beside her again. "Just until the sunsets, then we need to head back. Aren't you the one who keeps me on a strict schedule?"

Siku rolled onto her back but never moved her glittering blue eyes away from Eyal. She tilted her head and grinned up at him. The butterflies happily fluttered in her chest as she could've sworn she saw a smile drift over her older friend's maw. If he did smile, it was a smile that belonged to her now! After all, she made that smile form.

An airy bubble of laughter drifted up from the ground as Siku shook with giggles. He was right. She did keep him on a strict schedule of where he could go and how long he could be there for. One of the main rules was to always be "home" before nightfall. Yet here they were out of the grounds and awaiting darkness under her desires!

"Oh well. I'm letting it slide for one night. Come on, lay down with me." She replied as a paw outstretched itself and patted the grassy floor. The smile she wore still didn't loose it's glow.

"Oh are you? If only my pride could see me now, taking orders from a cub." He did as she aked, moving a bit closer to her so that their bodies touched. It was after all going to get chilly once the sun went down. He chuckles and looks over to her, one ear lifted.

He looks away again before his paw comes over and bumps her. "Oops." He says with a smirk, a playful glint in his eye. He's in a good mood and it shows. Maybe it was the coolness of the night or maybe he was finally loosening up. It was hard to tell.

"They'd want me to order them around too. You know it's all the rage to have me as a leader." She young lass wiggled and managed to turn herself to lean more to her side as Eyal sat. Becoming a squished bug was not something she wanted to do this evening. As soon as he was on the ground and settled, she returned to her position so they were touching a wee bit more. It was getting pretty chilly! A chill ran down Siku's spine but the warmth of Eyal's laugh vanquished the renegade shiver before it could reach Siku's sensitive ears.

"It's so beau---" Siku was cut off from saying, heck, even finishing her words by a sudden nudge from a rather large paw. "Hey!" She shouts with a growl. Yet the tough girl didn't last. The scowl Siku tried to pull off was tugged into a wide smile. She just couldn't hold the upset look long enough. Eyal's eyes and just his overall mood made her too happy to even act mad.

"You know, Eyal...you're a goof." Siku purrs as another bubbly giggle leaves her throat.

"Hm? Really? I suppose My King would listen too... He's wise but all together not bright all the time." He stretched out, extending his body to his full length, looking rather comfortable.

He smirked again. "Hey what?" He asks raising his eyebrows and pretending to be innocent. He chuckles once again then leans his head down to her ear. "We'll keep that little tidbit of information away from my King, hm? After all, I can't have him knowing such things." He says in a mock whisper before raising his head up again in a proud manner. "Hmm... Since you are the leader this evening; Might I suggest a proposal?"
PostPosted: Mon Oct 13, 2008 8:57 pm

"Mmm...If I meet him then I suppose I will automatically have a new recruit." Siku lifted up her body to allow him room to move around but as soon as he was settled she fell back to resting on him.

His laughter and teasing just made her giggle more and her smile to grow in length as well as spirit. The expressions he held, some Siku never would have guessed to ever quite fit his face so well, made her heart sing. A few moons ago she never would have pictured him laughing and playing with her as he did now.

Kisikusiku turned herself over so her nose rested against his warm fur. Briefly she nuzzled and breathed in the smell of Eyal before glancing back up at him. "Then I suggest you always be nice to me or I'll spill like water." The little lass returned. "And no, you cannot marry me if that is the proposal. This leader rules her kingdom alone." She answered matter-of-fact actually appearing serious this time. Of course with just one happy glance, tease, chuckle, and basically anything else from Eyal would send her reeling back into the glorious fit of giggles that had grown to love the cub by now.

"I suppose you will..." He voiced digging his claws into the dirt as he shook his mane, letting it fall back into place.

He gives her a sly smirk. "Ah but with my word against yours and I'm afraid to say he's more likely to believe me. So I don't have to." He remarks then gawks at her next few sentences. He snorts and looks away. "Highly unlikely... though if you rule it alone you'll get tired. No, my proposal... is that instead of walking all the way back, that you and I spend the night here. After all, I can take down anything that tries to bother us."

He glances over to her expectantly. A night away from his normal routine would feel good.
