When the mare made her way up beside him, he scooted over so that she would stay in the dry spots and he'd be the one getting wet. The question took him by surprise. He didn't expect the mare to say much. Apple thought for a second. There was no reason for him to be walking around, but he decided to try to keep the conversation going. "I'm looking for another to run into I guess. What about yourself?" His eyes stayed on her for a second before moving to the path ahead of them.

She tilted her head in thought for a moment, “I was just wandering around, like I always do, when it started to rain. Seeing as it is obvious that I am not one for the rain, I got stuck underneath the trees.” She gave a small laugh, “My luck right?” Looking over at him she saw that he was getting wet. “Do you want me to move over?” She could probably take another route that was also dry.

He smiled a little and let out a light laugh. "I got stuck under the trees because I was sleeping." Apple said, looking up at the trees above them. His eyes then searched for the sky to see if it was looking any better. "No, I don't mind the water." The grey stallion said with a nod.

She was skeptical, but let him do what he wanted. It was still pouring, maybe even getting worse. Drops of water were now finding new ways to get underneath the leaves, and she was now getting wet far more often. She sighed, wishing the rain to stop. But, since it didn’t seem like it would, she would have to get over it. At some point the trees ended, and that’s when she would really have to start worrying.

Apple's pace slowed a little when he noticed the tree's end. His eyes looked over to the mare, most likely she didn't want to get wet. Maybe they'd stop in a spot where there wasn't any water finding its way through the leaves. That spot would probably be right next to the base of the tree. Apple searched for that spot as they walked.

Lux saw the edge of the trees and stifled a sigh. “Maybe we can stop for a minute and think about what to do?” She said, but then what if he didn’t want to stay here anymore? “Or you could go on without me.” She said with a smile on her face, but it also held a hint of sadness to it.

Apple shrugged a little. His eyes looked at her face and he smiled a little. "I'll stay." He flicked his semi wet tail a little then thought for a second. The two had gone all this way without even knowing each other's names. "Oh! Sorry for being so rude, my name is Apple-oosa. Apple for short." He found a dry spot and walked over towards it, making sure the mare would not get wet.

Lux followed him, trying to maintain her semi-dryness. "I'm Lux. Nice to meet you Apple...Oosa." The last part of his name was kind of fun to say. Sounded like Woosa. "You don;t have to stay if oyu don't want to. I'm sure you have...napping ot do?"

When she paused for the last part of his name, he gave her a curious look. "Lux, simple in and beautiful." He decided not to say anything about her pausing for the last part of his name. Apple shook his head. "I'm done with my napping for the day."

"If your sure." He was giving her an odd look, probably because of the way she had said his name. It wasn't her fault that his name was a little peculiar.

"I'm sure." He said with a smile. His tail flicked a little and he looked at the ground to find any wet spots.

She sighed, "Okay then." She looked out into the land that was being drenched and felt another on-coming sigh. What to do? Maybe she should run to the other trees, since these had come ti the end. "Maybe we shoud make a run for it, to the other trees?" She put the idea out there, now to see what he wanted to do.

He nodded at the mare's question. "Sure, we can run to the others if you'd like." Apple's eyes looked around for a second. The stallion waited for her to start, then he'd go, in case she decided to change her mind and just stay over here. His grey tail flicked a little, soon it'd be soaked and heavier than normal.

Determination filled Lux and she sped through the rain that was now pelting against her, soaking her within seconds. Her short tail flicked behind her and she finally made it to the other set of trees. Instantly she could tell the difference and she stepped in more under the cover of the leaves over head, shaking her head and the shaking continued all the way to her tail. Water droplets flung everywhere and she smiled at the feeling of not being weighed down anymore.

Apple quickly jumped into a run after the mare and reached the other side right after she did. He shook as well, sending far more water droplets flying everywhere. His tail and mane were heavy and soaked, but it was hard to just shake the water out. They weren't too wet, so he was fine and slowly he began to walk forwards towards more trees, hoping that the rain would pass soon.
