"Oh, I'm sure I haven't collected even one hundredth of all the stories in the world! I won't stop until I find them all, or until I grow too old to hunt, which will probably come first since more and more stories happen every day." He grinned widely at the thought of an old, decrepit lion trying to travel around, ignoring complaints from everyone that he was far too old to be doing what he was doing. That, too, seemed like something straight from a story.
"Maybe one day I'll have a story, all about me, and you'll be in it too!" he smirked and batted at her tail as she let it flop over his paws, toying with it idly. "Although, I don't think you're really a damsel in distress, as you're not distressing over anything. You could be the goofy sidekick," he said with a chuckle, glancing up at her. "Maybe a pretty goofy sidekick, though? Or a hybrid damsel sidekick?" The possibilities amused him, as was evident by his never wavering smile.

"When you're old and gray and can't go hunting for stories anymore you'll just have to pass it onto someone else." She nodded. "Then they can go around remembering what you've told them and collecting even more and you're legacy will live on forever!" That seemed like a much better idea. Then the hunt would never have to die and Taya's idea would live on forever.
"There's already a story about you though. Just no one's told it to anyone else yet so you're the only one who knows it." She grinned and nudged him with her head slightly. "I like the idea of being a pretty goofy damsel sidekick. I don't have to be prissy then and i can still play in mud puddles and if i ever get into trouble you can save me"

He nodded at her words, considering it, thinking over the idea of a legacy of treasure hunting for stories that never ended. "I'd need an apprentice, then, someone I could teach all my stories to! It would just keep growing and growing." He paused, tilting his head, as if he were considering something. "I might actually need to, to be honest, if I get many more stories they may not all fit in one head!" He chuckled at the thought of it, leaning against her slightly.
"Very true, very true. My story is still going, though, so it wouldn't make much sense for someone to try and tell it now." He chuckled as she nudged him, battling lightly at her legs with his tail. "Well, I'll save you when I must, though I'm not sure you'll be in much danger from playing in mud puddles." His grin widened, and his eyes danced with playful mischief. He was really just a big child, at times.

"I'm sure you could find one. You found me." She smiled brightly. "There has to be someone out there ... or if you had sons! Then they could carry it on for you. A family of story tellers." That sounded like a perfect idea to her. What better way to make sure that at least someone woudl carry it on than to raise them loving the idea of it.
"Well .. it would just be an ongoing story. So you just add chapters to it as it happens. You could still tell it though." She liked the idea of it. "It could be a story where you get to choose how it ends!"

"I suppose if I had sons, that would work. I could just raise them on the stories - kids usually listen to them much better than adults, anyway," he said with a bit of a smirk, but he seemed a little weirded out at the thought. "Of course, to have sons, that means I'd have to find a lady to have sons with, and that would take a lot of time away from story hunting, don't you think?" He was all for romance in his stories, but it did often seem like it was more trouble than it was worth, and if it hurt his story telling and gathering, well, that didn't seem worth it at all.
"Very true, I could tell it in pieces, and add a chapter after I've finished something particularly interesting in my life." He grinned at the thought, his eyes beginning to take on that gleam that they got when he was thinking over a story, or thinking of a new idea.

"Well there is that." She'd completely forgotten about the whole issue of having to find someone first. "At least it's a thought? It's not like you're old and gray yet anyway. Plenty of youth left" She nodded sharply before thumping her tail lightly against his forelegs.
"Yes exactaly." She grinned brightly again. "Then by the time you have to you will have the whole story compiled and you wont have forgotten any of it and then it will be easier to pass on." She could even help him add the chapters later now that she was around to help remember htings.

"Yeah, I suppose I have a little while to look. If I don't find a lady, I can always hope to find another stranger like you who'd be willing. Of course, it wouldn't work unless they were younger than me." He tilted his head as he thought it over, brows furrowed and nose scrunched in thought. He blinked, however, with a chuckle as she batted his forelegs, his paw rising to bat back lightly at the tip of her tail.
He nodded at the thought of making his own story and putting it in chapters, relaxing himself into a laying position once more as he let his mind toy over the idea. "That seems like a good idea, although we'll have to have much grander adventures now if I'm going to have my own story with you as the dashing co-star."

"Why would they have to be younger? You can't be -that- old." She grinned. Besides it wasn't like older wasn't some times better right? Aged to perfection or something like that. "And a stranger might not let you keep one. I mean wouldn't a mother want to keep the little ones with her? So she'd have to come along too. Least until the cubs were old enough to decide on their own."
She shifted slightly so she could flop down on the ground. "Maybe this could be the start of volume two. Where things get more exciting and the adventure really heats up?"

"Well, if they were the same age as me, they'd be just as old as me when I get too old to travel, and that really wouldn't accomplish much if I wanted them to be young enough to continue my legacy for me, now would it?" He chuckled and nudged her front leg with his head from where he lay, his own tail batting at her hind one. "They don't have to be babies, though, either. I'm sure there's a young kid out there somewhere looking for some help." That was also another reoccurring theme in his stories, which was probably not too hard to guess.
He leaned his body against her comfortably, even going so far as to let out a dramatically loud and contented sigh. "That sounds like a good idea. Chapter two: When Taya meets Kinya." He grinned, pleased with the idea, and rolled his emerald eyes to the side to glance at her.

"Maybe we'll run into someone like that then." She nodded. "Maybe they'll even make sure to talk about me too when they keep your legacy going." That way she wouldn't be forgotten either even if it was slightly silly to put a side kick in the story for more than just a passion mention.
She reached over after a moment and poked his muzzle with one of her paws. "I wonder what chapter three will be ...."

What would chapter three bring? Chapter two was a big enough surprise as it was, as he'd found a companion that he had never meant to find, and she turned out to be one of the most interesting character he'd ever come across. "Only time will tell," he said finally, letting his eyes drift up towards the stars as the last bits of sun faded from the horizon and left them in the dark, "only time will tell."
