He was pleased that she had managed to sit through his story, he always appreciated great listeners, especially the sort that he could please with his words. He probably wouldn't have told her if the story was true or not - it was one of his taboos. He never told, even when asked, because that always ruined the splendor of fantasy.
"Well, that is why it's a story. If the mortal have lost, who would have thought to make a story out of his adventure? It wouldn't have been very entertaining then," he said with a smirk, flicking his tail, his face calm and giving away no glimmer of whether or not what he said was actually true or not.

"It would still be a story. It would just be historical." She grinned and got up enough that she could stretch. She wasn't used to sitting still for that long.
Shaking herself out she grinned happily as she looked back at the lion. "Do you know all sorts of stories? Like .. do you travel around looking for them?" If so that must have been wonderful. She doubted she'd ever have the patience for it but it sounded nice. Romantic in a way

"Not a story that anyone would be likely to remember, though," he said with a little chuckle. It was only the brave, clever, or comical that seemed to be remembered forever in time. Some of his stories he made up, but many were gathered from others, and he always did wonder which were true or false.
"I do know stories, many, many stories. I travel around, collecting and telling, it's my passion and always has been." He pushed himself to his feet as well, stretching out the muscles that had been cramped during his stillness.

"Depends on who you ask. I bet there at least someone out there who'd like it just because it existed, i mean besides you." There had to be other people who would collect stories whether they were true or not just so that they could have them.
"I always seem to miss the good things when i travel." She pouted slightly at that thought. "But at least i meet interesting people even if i don't get to hear all the interesting stories"

"Very true," he said with a nod and a shrug, although he wasn't sure that people who did those sort of things even got remembered past their life times in the first place.
"Well, perhaps you miss them because you aren't looking for them in the right places?" he quirked a brow at her, his head tilting at the same time so that part of his mane flopped across his face. "Maybe if you start looking for them, you'd start finding them."

"I wouldn't know where to start looking though." She scrunched her nose a the thought. "You found me here not finding anything right?" Her grin quickly came back as she moved over toward the edge of the shade.
"I'm not good at finding stories or remembering them. I can't tell good stories anyway. I'm just good at making friends when i do find someone." She grinned back at him. "You'll be my friend wont you Taya?"

"How are you so sure that I found you? Perhaps on some level you knew to wait here and it was really you that found me?" he smirked as he said it, though let out a little laugh as he did so. "Maybe the best way to start looking is to not look at all, just let things come to you. It seemed to work today, did it not?" The best stories were often the ones you never meant to find.
"Of course I'll be your friend, Kinya," he said with a bright smile, "and as long as you have me, I suppose you never really have to remember a story. I'll remember all the stories you'd like, tell you any story you want to here." He flickered his tail, glancing up at the sky for a moment, probably trying to recall the thoughts he had been thinking for his story earlier.

Her eyes widened as she turned to look at him. "Really!? You mean you want to wander around with me?" She hoped that's what he meant. She usually ended up meeting others and then never seeing them again because of her wandering. None of them had ever wanted to stick around.
"It would be really nice if you would. Then maybe stories could come to me and you could remember then and then you could tell them to me when i start to forge them."

He chuckled at her reaction, nodding, pleased that she seemed so happy. "Well, I certainly don't see why not. If I'm going to wander around and you're going to wander around, why shouldn't we just wander around together?" He had never really had a traveling companion, at least not one that had lasted more than a day, and he figured it might be a nice change of pace.
"Of course, and then you would never have to worry about forgetting them because I would always be there to remember them for you," he grinned, flicking his tail behind him in a pleased manner. She was good for thinking, for his imagination, and he thought this would work out best for the both of them.

She squeaked happily and pounced on him. She'd never had a friend that wanted to travel with her. She had lots of friends but they were all scattered over the place. It was so much nicer to have one that was going to stay with her.
"We can go everywhere! And see everything and find stories that no one else knows!" She was getting ahead of herself but that thought hadn't really occurred to her yet. She was too busy thinking of all the things they could do.

He laughed aloud as she pounced on him, falling to the ground, but rolling slightly to make sure they didn't land in an odd way or on something uncomfortable. He sat up, nodding, reaching out to bat lightly at her tail as she started to chatter on and on, "we'll go anywhere you want to go, and find lots of stories."
Today was a good day.
