Right b4 the band christmas performance the (only)other flute player's younger(and adorable) sister tried to walk on stage to see him so he was telling her in spainish to go back to their mom. Also, a min. or 2 later she started to cry.

My Middle School Band Director used to give a long speech before concerts ordering all small children out of the room.

We were playing New World Syphony which as three movements, and before we played it our BD specifically said not to clap until the end. During the pause between the second and third movement one of the flute player's little sister screams "GO EMILY!" really loudly.

It seems that every time I'm playing in a band concert, right when my BD raises his arms/baton to start conducting, a baby starts to cry. My BD looks at everyone with his arms/baton still raised and rolls his eyes. Last year, a baby started crying right before our best song in the concert, Concertino. It is an amazing song for clarinet, and it is really fun. (I don't play clarinet, but listening to it was really enjoyable.)
IF you don't know what Concertino is, go to Youtube and search, Concertino Weber Clarinet. and listen to it! It's really good!

I have plenty, but I shall list two
One night during a concert, My school's senior band (which I was in) were performing, we were playing FIREBIRD SUITE by Stravinsky, and as I was playing my flute solo, this little kid starts screaming/yelling, and thus, everyone stopped playing, and I think many people were glaring at the little child.
Another night, it was a Christmas concert, everyone was cut off so I could play the second part of Silent Night solo. Then this man or someone, starts snoring o___o;;, everyone started laughing.

Hahaha. I remember my very first band concert. The BD specifically told everyone NOT TO BRING BABIES. And what happened? Right before our first piece, she did a "before and after" thing. She said "And this is what we sounded like at the beginning of the year!" And everyone foghorned/squeaked really loudly. Of course, a baby starts crying and needs to be escorted out.

It seems like at every concert, there would always be a little girl that gets up and dances in the middle of a jazz song [jazz band]. I don't know why, but that just annoys the bejeezes out of me! It's probably because I'm intolerant of kids [which I'm working on reversing becuase I feel evil sad ]. IMO, the center of attention is not you, it's the band. urgh. Now I feel like a horrible person for saying that, but it's just a pet peeve of mine.
