 Even with bleach blonde hair, I don't think Gackt looks anything like Cloud.
Doesn't stop his voice from being amazing, though. <3

I know that in the new final fantasy game the character Genesis was modeled and voiced by Gackt. I see a strange resemblance in Squall too. But as for Cloud......I dont think so.

pandabearpaige13 Anyone know who Gackt is? I was just wondering if anyone else thought he looked like Cloud in the video for Vanilla? Gackt is a very popular Japanese singer/celebrity. It is rumoured that many FF characters were modelled after Gackt, recently Gackt has been featured in FFVII Dirge of Cerberus within the secret ending and is again featured on the new FFVII Crises core on the psp (prequel) as the Genesis character. do a youtube search for Gackt Dirge of Cerberus Square-enix gave him a cosplay outfit for the Genesis character which he wears in game and for the redemption music video. P,S going to the first Gackt UK gig woot!!!!!!

I like the picture of him where he is all goth like 4laugh 4laugh I once thought that Mana from Malice Mizer was one of the hottest girls then found out it was actually Gackt and that kinda shocked the hell out of me roflmao. Still Gackt rocks!

zizi_monster5 my proof that he may have been the inspiration for squall  you just got me giddy like a school girl with this topic biggrin
Actually, it was already stated by Tetsuya Nomura that River Phoenix was the inspiration for Squall. 3nodding They share a very similar appearance and the same birthday.

soadshuyin Its funny, cause if I didnt know who we were talking about, I would definately think all these pictures are of chicks. xp i have to agree he does look like a girl but then leon looks like a bloke so how could they change chick to bloke unless leon is a girl and then that mucks uup everything so im just gona shut up know

No, I think he looks more like "G" from Crisis Core. There was even a music video on You Tube that had him dressed the same as "G", but I forget which one.

I think his facial structure seems to be closer to Cloud's than Leon's.

Gackt is simply amazing, most of the girls and guys that I go to Visual Kei and Jrock gigs like his music and aesthetic style. I for one am a big fan of Gackts productions.
Maybe going slightly off topic however if anyone here is into Visual Kei or Jrock there is a new band called S.K.I.N its been produced by Yoshiki and has four band members and they are as follows
1. Yoshiki (X-Japan drummer and famous producer)
2. Miyavi (popular Jrocker)
3. sugizo (Luna Sea member)
4 Gackt ( razz )
their most probably going to be the best new VK/JR band since X-Japan and possibly release and make it big internationally, fingers crossed.
It seems that some Final Fantasy producers are at times influenced by music for inspiration, Fei Wong was the first Chinese singer who featured in FFVII and now its Gackt, I do hope they feature more eastern music talent within the Final Fantasy franchise. I am hoping soon Nobuo Uematsu the Final Fantasy composer uses his new band The Black Mages to do some rock based Final Fantasy music, their an awesome band.

Don't know if thats true but if it is, Sephiroth's Character Design was inspired by Gackt eek

Don't know if thats true but if it is, Sephiroth's Character Design was inspired by Gackt eek I do not know for sure its certainly unconfirmed however G/Genises has one black wing just like Sephiroth so there is reason to believe that Sephiroths inspiration may have been inspired from Gackt but we wont know till Square-Enix or Hironobu Sakaguchi confirms it.

I have attend some VK/JR gigs in the UK and they are awesome especially Dir En Grey went to see them twice razz I got the water splash and one of my friends caught the drummers stick the Dir En Grey one is really nice it has a insignia logo of the band. Yeah I agree the poll ought to display Cloud looks like Gackt.
