Isikoro hardly looked up from the table as he carefully pinched two twigs together with his fore finger and thumb and tried to tightly wrap them with a piece of string. After he had the string wrapped securely around them so that they wouldn't shift, Isi released his grip momentarily tied it off. Afterwards picked up a piece of thin leather that he used to wrap even tighter. It was after he had securely fastened the two twigs together did he glance up with his stormy grey eyes, which were underlined with purple, and pipe offhandedly, "Vigitahbuls, good. The ones in my garden aren't ripe for picking and I've wanted to clear my conscience and eat something healthy after eating cereal for two consecutive weeks." About then, Ebony came into view and gave him a greeting and a bow of the head. How curt and polite, Isi thought offhandedly. "I'm just as good as I can be, thank you, Ebony. How have you been? I haven't seen you in ages...Since the last festival, I think."

Eiry gave a pitiful pout, sticking his bottom lip out and making a sulking gesture with the slump of his shoulders. Well, that was no fun! He pinched his arms tightly to his sides, a gesture that meant he was irked and was cooking up a Plan "B". Well, if he couldn't build the book wall in the stairwell, then where could he...

Eiry glanced up at his brother's question and he let a naturally creepy Cheshire grin seep onto his dusty cheeks, "Pranks, Riv! It's a prank I learned from a book I found in the attic."

Aphismet chuckled. If that was Ebony's way of telling him that she didn't feel like training today (and it might very well be, as the proud woman would not otherwise admit to such a thing EVER), then Aphi wouldn't press the matter.

"Well then, let's skip training and go straight to making something good to eat! What would you guys like? With all these delicious things, it's hard to pick just one thing... Some kind of vegetable bake, for sure. Wiiith... Hm. Chicken? Fish? or Pork?" Aphismet thought out loud as he emptied the bag on the counter, making sure to speak loudly enough so that the others in the Dining Room could hear.

Rivener rolled his eyes. "Oh god. A Book. You found a whole book of pranks?! Of all the books in the world, why did that one have to be here, ready for you to find." The Scorpion sighed. "Please don't practice all thos pranks on ME, alright? I'm going to lose patience with you very quickly."

Though not at all as stormy as Isi's, Ebony's own steel greys regarded the youth for a moment contemplating how truly good he really was. Even from where she stood, one could plainly see the bags under his eyes and a certain tenseness emitted from him whether he knew it or not. A pang of empathy for the boy was felt, but not displayed by Ebony.

Taking a step forward, towards Isi and further into the dining hall, Ebony stopped again to regard the question. There had been a slump in her 'work' and spending too much time at home was starting to grate on her these days when it wasn't always applicable to venture out doors. A case of cabin fever perhaps, yet it left the woman with a growing pit of loneliness. So...naturally, Ebony lied. "I'm doing well. And yes, it has been quite awhile. The summer festival didn't seem that long ago, yet here we are basking in autumn's grace." She couldn't help, but stare out a nearby window at the trees as she spoke about it. Autumn, was her favorite time of year. Hearing Aphismet's reply stopped her from taking in the beauty of the scenery outside, even if it was a bit misty.

Ebony placed a hand to her hip as she humphed, her british accent highly emphasised when she spoke most articulately. Which often was when she was scolding or lecturing someone. "Don't think I'd let you off the hook that easily Aphismet. We'll take a nice long run afterwards." A satisfied smirk gracing her lips before she remembered Isi. "Isikoro? Would you like to join us? For the run that is."

The glare that snapped up from the dining room table was as cold as any glare given from the demon Mephistopheles himself. Him? Join them for a run? An immediate disgust welled up in Isi's chest as he glared down the woman. Did she not know? Would he like to? Of course he would. Could he? Now that was an entirely different matter. He couldn't. Just that question was enough to send Isi tumbling off the edge of a cliff, but he kept himself precariously balanced on the edge, windmilling his arms so that he didn't fall. The hair on the back of Isi's neck bristled, like the pines from an agitated hedgehog. That question was just a bitter antagonizing reminder to his...incapabilities and it angered him to no end that he could rise up to meet the challenge. That was the one thing he couldn't prove to people... He couldn't run for them.

So, instead of giving her a polite shake of the head, like he would've done on calmer days, Isi simply narrowed his eyes at her with a clear defined hate and went back to tying the circle of twigs together with glue and leather and string. He hoped that Aphi would dive in and save him from her naive suggestions and questions. He was in no mood to try and save himself, much less support himself and wear a mask for the guest's sake.

Eiry nodded excitedly and a pure joy just seeped like tree sap from his ear-to-ear smile. He even spun around in the air, trailing his ribbon delicately in the air so it got stuck on the side of one of the yellow books. Then, bouncing up to Rivener, Eiry curled his fists beneath his chin and begged like a hungry puppy, yearning for attention, "Oh, brother, brother! I promise I won't practice ALL the tricks on you... But I was hoping you'd do some of the tricks with me!" Eiry gave a big hopeful smile. He hadn't been so excited before in his short life before, "Pleeeeeeeeeease? Just a couple! And they don't all have to be right now. Just us? Please?"

Aphismet cringed from the kitchen where he'd heard the question. He knew Ebony was just being nice, trying to ignore the fact Isi was challenged, but it was always such a strange, narrow razor's edge to walk when it came to that... And as Aphi glanced over at his brother, he could see that Ebony had unfortunately stepped off the wrong side of that sharp blade.

"We'll run, understood, Captain." He smiled. "But I don't think Isi will come with us, someone has to stay here and keep an eye on the multitude of critters that would otherwise wreak havok on this place. So, have we decided on what to eat?" He hoped he'd distracted from the subject enough.

Rivener sighed again, crossing his arms. He didn't know why Eiry liked pranks so much, and honestly Rivener himself didn't much enjoy them. "If you promise not to practice ANY pranks on me, then I'll help you with some." He narrowed his eyes. "Promise." He leaned towards his brother, whose puppy eyes were only marginally effective.

She was very aware of the tenseness in the room now of which she'd felt earlier from her entrance in the room and yet it had seemed to double in strength in mere moments. Of course Ebony had not meant any ill will towards the tired youth as she had not yet been truly aware of Isi's condition. Just as he was sitting now, when Ebony had first met him, Isi had been sitting behind a booth. So two and two had not yet been placed together to come up with the correct answer of four.

Normally, she would have pried to know the meaning of why he was now glaring at her. Yet, the feeling emitting from him and the anger in his eyes was enough to stop her in her tracks if not also for Aphismet's interference. She silently looked towards Aphismet near the kitchen then back to Isikoro before she knitted her brows in semi-understanding and confusion. A slight, silent bow of her purple-haired head towards Isi once again as a way of an apology for whatever it was she'd said to upset him before she quickly joined Aphi in the kitchen. Hopefully, she would do more good there.

"Your vegetable bake sounds good. Maybe we can make some kind of soup too. Chicken soup?" She didn't really know what she was suggesting, rather just trying to move the conversation on from the train wreck she'd caused. Ebony rolled up the sleeves of her jacket. "Just tell me what I can do to help."

Pacified by his brother's quick save, a small wave of relief passed over Isikoro's tense body. His muscles relaxed slightly and he kept his eyes focused intently on his work. Sure...He's stay here and watch other the other family members of the Delaran home. Who knows what trouble they'd get into, he thought with bitter sarcasm. Finally snapping the circle together so that it was firm and steady, Isi next tried to fit the woven web over it's frame. It was hard, but he struggled to do so anyway. Making it squeeze in with the flexible branches, Isi was able to get half of it over and he nestled it down the rest of the way.

Isi was so busy with his dream catcher that he didn't notice the barely perceptible nod of apology given from Ebony.

Throwing his arms high into the air, giggling to himself in his own creepy manner, a kind of laugh that could only be heard in the echoes of graveyards or abandoned houses. It was easily seen that part of his soul was ghostly and made of the essence of a will o wisp.

"Thank you! YEAH! Now we can pull off some good ones!" Eiry pulled his arms tight by his side in victory and he floated around his brother hapily, "Yeah, I promise I won't practice them on you. Sure!"

Aphismet sighed to himself, pleased at having salvaged his brother's mood somewhat. He turned a grin to Ebony, watching her get ready for hard work. She certainly didn't shy from a chore, did she? "If you'd like to help, you certainly can, although as a guest it would be better if you simply sat down and took it easy." He chuckled, knowing she probably wouldn't accept that option.

"Well if you insist, you can help me clean the vegetables for the bake. In the meantime, I'll start on the chicken soup, which is a great idea, by the way. Sounds delicious."

Aph made his way to the fridge and took out the ingredients he would need that Ebony hadn't provided, such as stock and chicken.

Rivener sighed, somehow doubting his brother's words would hold for very long. Still, he rolled his eyes and let his arms drop to his sides in defeat. "Alright, fine. So, do you want to do a trick now, is that why you're so happy?"

Rivener could imagine getting all the blame if something happened, since Aphi would play the "You're his big brother and you should know better" card. But, he had said he would help. Hopefully, Rivener would be able to minimize the will-o-wisp's damage.

Her lips had parted slightly, the beginnings of protest, before closing when Aphismet had given her a task. She nodded and quickly set to work. Yes, Ebony could relax when she wanted, but in her mind it often came with a price. The letting down of her guard. So she didn't do very well with just sitting around and doing nothing for long periods of time. Case in point was now as she'd been quite bored the last few days. Probably why she'd gone and purged her garden just so she'd have something to do other than the fact that it had desperately needed it.

After washing several tomatoes, british laced words punctured the passing silence. "You said your brother had to stay to watch over all the critters. Did you mean pets? I haven't seen any, how many could you possibly have for him to keep track of?"

Isi, after finally fixing the net to the circle of wood, began wrapping a long thing leather strip around it's edges. The leather would keep the web in place and give strength to the circle. The work was tedious, but Isi was more than content to keep himself and his mind occupied. As he weaved it in and out of the circle, he felt himself calm with each passing and soon he was done. In fact, by now he was lightly listening to the conversation between his brother and the newcomer at the edge of his consciousness. Tying the leather and gluing it down with a hot glue gun, Isi finished the ring and began work on fastening bits of string, feathers, beads and other odd assortments to decorate the bottom of his dream catcher. He was missing some utensils though. He wanted to put a fork, spoon, and a knife onto the dream catcher along with his thimble, paper clip, and bell. Earlier that morning he had drilled holes in the handles of three utensils, but they were still sticky so he had washed them and left them beside the kitchen sink. With a sigh, Isi put down his work and he reached for his crutches. Standing up to his feet and fitting his arms into the firm clasps that held his arms, Isikoro made his way into the kitchen.

As he entered, he could hear Aphi and Ebony talking of the assorted pets he had in their household. Without even looking at Ebony, he passed her by and said dully, "Seven including the raevans." Hobbling past Aphi, Isi moved over to the sink, picked up the drilled utensils he left drying by the sink and placed them into his mouth so he could carry them. He would've carried them with his hands, but they were preoccupied. So, with the swing and spin of his crutches, Isikoro made his way out of the kitchen and back to the table.

Eiry nodded his head happily and he said, "I've been saving the plastic film containers from your camera that you throw in the garbage and I managed to find," he said with special emphasis on the word 'find', "This box of alkesetser, baking soda and some vinegar!" A playful grin spread from ear to ear and he nodded excitedly at Rivener. With a laugh, the raevan bolted away without a word and disappeared through the walls. A few moments later he returned with his arms full of the supplies.
