"Alright!" Lini said with a half smile.
She watched as he bounced throught the bushes and called out, "Hey! Wait up."
She stood there in silence as the Ulaya began to think. She played with a leaf that had just fallen to the ground.

Zazog ignored the fact that Lini began playing with a leaf. He didn't want to be distracted when he continued sniffing his way out.
"This way. You'll have to move faster." He said to the yellow Ulaya and swerved around a tree before disappearing.

Lini moaned, "Fine," she said, "you better know what your doing!"
She stopped playing with the leaf, and began to chase after the Ulaya. Her legs were sore as it was from wondering the forest, trying to get out.
As they were running Lini decided to ask him a question, "Not that I care or anything, but why are you in the forest?"

"Catching food." Zazog said back to Lini. "I'm the best hunter in our cave, and I have to supply enough meat for... Five others besides me. That includes three babies and a two mothers."
He came to a stream bank and sniffed the air again. The emptier smell of open fields were more prominent. He was getting closer to getting rid of the unwanted companion.
"Though our owner says we're getting another hunter soon... with a hint of cruel humor." He blurted out the thought that surfaced his mind.

"Well good, it mgiht lower your ego a tad," Lini replied, almsot disgusted at how much this Ulaya thought of himself.
She stared at him, and then got scared he might become angry. She quickly changed the subject, "So, whats this cave like?"

"Messy." Zazog retorted, with irritation in his voice. Though it was the truth, he hated the fact that Lini thought herself as right all the time.
"Everyone's off having their adventures almost all the time, and random Ulaya started living with us, along with the female ones having kids at the inconvenient times..."
The trees started to thin out and his pace through the forest became faster.

Lini noticed the change in speed, and was thrown off as she began to say, "Hey, sorry about that comment. It's just the whole, 'Im the best hunter thing', kinda got me."
She let out a soft chuckle at the thought of the cave. "So, any of those females your mate?"

Zazog paused in his walking, a little shocked at her question. He wasn't used to anyone asking about that kind of topic.
"... No." He finally replied and resumed his travelling.

Lini froze, the words just slipped out. She hadn't actually MEANT to ask that question, or even thought of asking it. It was obviously innapropriate, and she wouldn't normally do something like that.
She started moving again, and replied with a simple, "Oh..."
"Ummm.... okay... how about you ask ME something this time," Lini knew he probably wouldn't say anything. He was a bit to much a grouch, but she was out of things to talk about, and not talking at all simply wasn't an option for Lini.

Zazog nodded while concentrating on the path ahead. A few more minutes and they'll be home free.
"I have a question. What were you doing out here in the forest?" He asked. His eyes darted around the place, checking if they weren't going to get lost at the last moment.

Lin sighed both happy and unhapy. She was excited because she finally got to answer a question, but unhappy because of the question that was asked.
The truth is Lini hadn't meant to go into the forest at all. She was hunting for berries, and got sidetracked by a mouse. As she playfully chased after it, she found herself lost in the woods.
She saw the look on Zazog's face as she told this story, and was utterly embarrassed.

"Well what's to be expected... you're a ditzy kid that hates meat." Zazog grumbled and stepped out into an open clearing.
"We're out of here. Finally. I'll be taking my leave now."
