OK
I am of a popular opinion that beauty is in the eye of the beholder and all that other stuff
but about the acne
i read somewhere(and know from personal experience)that acne is often caused by stress, which is probably why most humans are so turned off by it.
I mean, I dont want to hang out with someone really, really stressed all the time and stuff like that. Most people would prefer to hang out with someone calm and in control of their life thean someone stressed. Thats how it is for me.
even if people dont know that, they can probably sense the stress and subconciously pin it on the acne
cuz havent you ever noticed the zit that always pops up just before an important even when its least wanted?

acne primarily happens in kids when they hit puberty. the body is changing and that's part of the process for many if not most. however, I believe what you say could be true for adults who get it. ones mind and mood does affect the body physically. stress can even cause sickness, so it's really not too far fetched.

I'm built for comfort, not for the runway and gosh darnit, I like me this way! But I still like to dress up. So, hoorah for the freedom to stuff my face and still wear fashion clothes!

To anyone who says they are built for comfort, you're a rockstar!

I've seen alot of people who are just breath-takingly beautiful do terrible things to themselves in pursuit of the modern standard of beauty, which is in itself impossible to acquire through natural means. Genetics determines that women with sizeable . . . endowments will NEVER be tiny waists, because of the damage their spines would endure. Besides, breast size is determined by the body's placement of fat, and the act of starving your body out of fat will merely effect that feature's size anyway!

Modern cosmetic surgeries and other elective surgeries that people undergo in the pursuit of "beauty" are horrible! Having plastic plates inserted into ourselves, sacs of saline or silicon fluids to enhance curves in the absence of natural fat deposits. Scraping fat out of certain places, and injecting it into others. Removing parts of our fragile gastro-intestinal systems to force our bodies into starvation. We've become a society of penitent self-haters, determined to destroy ourselves in the hunt for an unachievable goal.

And it isn't just women! These days, short men can have their bones broken and stretched, so that when they heal they will become taller! Wheras women have saline implants, guys have pec and glut implants to create false appearances of hard, smooth areas that have "perfect" contours.

I am not a bad looking guy (if I say so myself) but I am not perfect. I'm HUGE, in fact. I'm taller than most guys, I'm broader than most guys, and if I weighed what the current size standard says a man of my height and carriage should weigh, I'd be over a hundred pounds lighter and in poor physical repair due to starvation and poor physical rejuvenation!

To the people who think there is something wrong with them, because the TV says so; STOP IT!

Love exists for us all, and the people who love you will do so, as you come to them.

Real love is unconditional!
Real acceptance is unconditional!

The secret to eternal happiness is finding out how to be happy with who you are, not how to become what someone else thinks you should be! Embrace yourself, and let other people worry about their own problems!

I've seen ugly people find love, not because they changed themselves, but because they found someone who loved them for who they are.

Accept

So true, I am not the best looking guy, (sitting at 6ft flat and 329lbs) but am happy with myself. And this shows with the amount of friends I have. When people see you as confident your body does not seem to matter, it is your personality that shines through, and that is the most beautiful thing (be it man or woman) a person can have.

For someone with no self confidence, be it online or real life, today's critical eye of bodies/hair/make up/what makes up femininity makes it hard to go outside sometimes.

The most beautiful clothes, being smart, being pretty, being the perfect clone of a human being, it disgusts me. D:

The biggest problem I have is finding clothes that fit and fit right. D: I'm too big for traditional stores, but too small for "plus" size stores like Lane Bryant. D:

Society stinks.

the older I get, the more I realize and truly see that what truly makes one beautiful is what is inside. I feel sorry for people who seek after and put so much stock in synthetic beauty, because it's fake. it's used as a social mask that is meant to hide whatever it is on the inside they feel is unworthy to be shown on the outside. synthetic beauty is worth nothing, it's value is like that of 'fools gold' (iron pyrite.. looks just like real gold on the outside, but it's internal properties are different making it a different metal altogether, so it's true value is much less than that of real gold).

if people worked hard to bring their inner beauty out (which could include loving oneself enough to loose weight if they have to but for *health* rather than looks) and could foster a true heart-felt belief in the value of themselves, there would be no need for the synthetic brand of beauty.

I love to be comfortable, and modest. I've never worn a tank top by itself or wore a v neck shirt. It really makes me feel like everyone is staring at the wrong place. So I dress the way I want to and make my own clothes and come up with my own styles. Every day I'm complimented, and all my clothes cost from nothing to five dollars. smile

Huh, what i think is funny is mans (and womans) ability to spend the most part of their lives dressing up and preppin thier bodies for the social world, doing everything they can to "look" nice, while the whole time letting their brain, which is really all that you actually are (the rest are attachments), go to rubbish and filling it with false images of whatever, resulting in a life that is for the most part fake and totally misunderstood... and then fal asleep at night... or call themselves better than anyone else. hahahah. Its almost a pity thing.

they say beauty is only skin deep but true beauty shines from deep within. in my opinion beautiful people have beautiful personalities and souls. you could be the most "gorgeous" person (according to society) but if your ugly on the inside it shines through.

I've heard both men and women say that the sexiest part of the human body (on either sex) is what's between the ears. it seems to be a popular opinion, but still people strive to be what they think the opposite sex (or same sex in some cases) finds beautiful. go figure.

when it comes to beauty and perfection...its the personality that counts...i tried for years for those "hot" women...i now have a loving girlfriend who ive been with for over a year...shes a little big but i think she is beautiful..because she sees me as a person (i am also rather large) not a blob

I think alot of standard are overdriven, too. Especially in the fashion industry, where it already came to the death of models, who wanted to be "beautiful", but died nothing more than a death of hunger.

Personally I have to admit, that I don't really want to have a fat or chubby girlfriend or even a "skeleton". Both irritate me in someway. Chubbier females often appear unclean to me and skinny ones just don't look healthy.

I just want her to be feeling well with herself. I don't mind some minor "problems" here and there. I wouldn't spend more money than necessary on a plastic surgery. The only thing I would remove is a freckle on my back, which disturbs me.

Plastic surgery was a good thing, as it was for reconstruction. I cant imagine, to let someone break my nose for making it more beautiful...
