Forgive me...

*Murmuring those words, Alyna leapt to Iden's back, her hand shifting back to claws as she swiped out the second cat's throat as it tried to stand, then extended a cats fangs to bite into the throat of the one Iden held as his head came back forwards, rebounding off the wall*

No throats, no oxygen, no blood ot the system, no movement until it regenerates. Come on, before they get back up.

Iden had to duck for Alyna to rend the pinned cat's throat, but it was something he did not mind doing. This was more what he'd meant for her to do...to help him fight, not be his nursemaid. With the throats torn out, Iden hauled the breathless cat from the wall and casually discarded it as it wheezed.

Thank you. Keep moving, no time.

Quickly Iden scooped up his weapons. He would reload on the move, he couldn't afford to simply stop to change magazines. With affairs down here as they were, he could only hope the men upstairs were having better luck in their resistance than he and Alyna were. They were good men, well trained in counter-paranormal tactics, but this sort of foe was potentially beyond them.

This ain't the right floor, I don't think...the stink isn't strong enough. We need to move down.

Three more floors. Thats my best guess - my nose is rarely wrong.

*Moving up ahead of Iden, she too reloaded, holding the ROMAN low as she trotted ahead of him, sniffing continually, trying to ignore the fact she'd just downed two of her own.
Darting eyes this was and that, she suddenly ducked up a dead end corridor, but stopped under and air vent*

Its coming from here. It must lead down to the bottom level. Saves playing in elevator shafts... what do you think?
PostPosted: Thu Aug 27, 2009 2:39 pm

I think an air vent is tight and unpleasant. Lets clean s**t out. Fire in the hole!

Iden pulled one of his last frags from his belt, pounded open the vent, and let the bomb fall. If it was a straight shaft, they would hear a distanced explosion; if not, a dull thump beforehand. The former would mandate they take the vent, the latter would suggest the elevator. It was in the bomb's hands, now, as Iden kept the hallway covered with his firearms.

I also thinks its faster and safer.

*Alyna listened as the frag fell. The vent seemed to fall for a floor, slope across the floor below, then do the same for each of the following two floors. It wasnt a long vent, it wasnt complicated, it just went down*

Your call, boss...
PostPosted: Fri Aug 28, 2009 7:31 am

Somehow I doubt that...I'll go first. Wait for my signal...or for more baddies to show, either works.

Iden had no desire to crawl down a compressing, black shaft. But Alyna was probably right; the elevator shaft would be crawling with enemies by now if he had to guess, and he doubted there'd be a stairwell without more resistance.

So he steeled himself, gripped his weapons tightly, and slid into the vent. He braced his legs against the shaft walls to ease his way down...until he decided it was just too uncomfortably cramped, and he was making too much noise anyway. Then, he just dropped.

*rolling her eyes, Alyna guarded the entrance to the vent. For a full 2 minutes, NO sign of hostiles.. then a group rounded the corner, postted her and...

The ROMAN thundered, briefly, then she was leaping, up and into the vent, human and unpleasantly naked for sliding down metal. She changed shape half way down, tiredness beginning to set in, and slid after Iden, a lot more comfortable in fur*

The thunderclap of the ROMAN had Iden worried, though he was too far down to aid her when it came. Instead, he focused on his path as it spiralled down into the dark. It was not a comforting feeling, not when it was such a damp, claustrophobic place. It was too reminiscent of another dark passage, one which bore frightening similarities in circumstance.

And then, it opened. Instinctively he flipped forward, and landed so that he sprawled onto his back. The impact was softer than he'd expected it...it was not concrete at all. Even as his weapons snapped up to sight the vent, he knew he could not see it. Even when Alyna fell from the ceiling, it was nigh impossible to mark with his eyes where the vent had been. Besides which, his mind was churning over the presence of the sand at his back, the roundness of the chamber...the single seductive form on the grand disk of steel in the center....

Iden's eyes went wide with realization; his sense of optimism and purpose wavered.

*The Ceilican didnt expect the last sudden drop from such a height. Worse still, she had the ROMAN in her jaws from where she'd shape shifted and the oversized handgun caught on the edge of the vent as she yumbled out of it at too much speed, ripping her head to one side so fell awkwardly, gun falling under her as she hit and .... THUNK. Her temple bounced off the metal gun, and just like that... unconscious cat.

It wasnt good timing. All Iden would see would be a pack of wolves slowly walking inwards, ringing him, obscuring Alyna as they flowed around her to make a wall. On the disc, the Priestess stirred and slid to her feet seductively, all lust and desire built into one package, alluring and decadant as she walked barefoot towards the downed soldier*

You have jounreyed so far to come back to us... welcome home, Iden. We have missed you...
PostPosted: Fri Aug 28, 2009 12:42 pm

Iden was all too painfully aware of movement from all sides. His guns started tracking in all directions as he slowly coiled himself back to his feet. Meanwhile, Mucalinda rose from Alyna's form and hissed spite and threats of death to all that drew close. If any came too close, just shy of arms reach, the naga would unleash hagnose breath until the whole of the area was blanketed in a thick, toxic fog.

Get back you ******** was a low snarl that hissed through Iden's teeth. He was tracking all of the wolves, thanks to Corbin's training. His weapons were loaded and ready to go. But there was a great host of them, compared to one of him. He hadn't expected this...already he had a sinking feeling in his gut. So far as he could see, he had just jumped willingly into Malfeas...and taken Alyna with him.

Not. Good.

*Seemingly impervious to the hagnose mist around them, the wolves closed inwards. One leant down, ignoring any bite, and closed its jaws around Mucalinda before tossing the serpent presumptively towards Iden, to fall on the floor at his feet as the wolves made a living ring around he and the Priestess*

Calm, Iden. You are safe now. How we have missed you, our stray brother. Wont you come back to our embrace? Let us know you and see you are well.. you presence among us is a chance for celebration, not violence. Put up your weapons and let me soothe your pain...

*The beautiful temptress slowly closed towards Iden, unthreatening, save for what he KNEW she was*

Iden sighed, and slowly slid the dual handguns to their holsters. Each rested comfortably under his arms as he lifted his hands away, almost as if he meant to do things peacably. But then, as both hands lifted, so too did both middle fingers lift to the priestess.

*The scenery rumbled as Iden made his move... only he;d find Alyna gone. Her gun remained, allowing him to scoop it up and again stand off against the rest of the warm, snarling crowd, but of the Ceilican... there was no sign.

The Priestess cocked her hed and sighed gently, somehow uninjured, it seemed*

You are delusional my brother. Do you not know where you are? You are home,in Malfeas. Do not despair - the master will not send you back to that awful plane again. This is where you belong. Your home. Where you are cared for. Come to me, Iden. Come to me and enjoy all I have to offer...
PostPosted: Fri Aug 28, 2009 1:14 pm

Call me crazy, but last I recall home didn't have a stray problem. Now, I'll enjoy all you have to offer alright...

As he spoke, both barrels locked onto the woman. Iden was preparing something. He didn't trust this...ANY of this. If this was Malfeas, the Wyrm could manifest anywhere in the room. He was jumpy...paranoid, even. But his eyes were steeled when his fingers began to tense over the mere instant of his proclamation.

A pound of flesh and all that swill you call blood, all over the sand. Suck it, b***h.

The dual shocks of thunder shattered the quiet stillness of the foreboding pit. Iden had yet to see an unarmored target live through two ROMAN blasts...

*The woman fell... or more, fractured. The dual shots on her unarmoured body made for a wonderful play of blood, flesh and bone all over the floor, marring the clean sand as the wolves sat back and howled in unison. The sound was enough to shatter ear drums, pull blood from the nose and eyes, disorentate the balance.

From the shadows, two more women stepped, identical to the downed Priestess*

Oh Iden... how delightful... the stories about you are all true, arent they?

Of course they are, sister. He is our brother. He is a brute..

Do me like her.. please Iden... please...

*the twin nymphs approached him with nothing short of rapture on their faces for the brutal death dealt out, while the hub in the middle of the room began to move..*
