"All the more reason to drag me back as soon as possible..." Van said with a faint smile before wincing, his body fading some more before he managed to lift his head enough to look over at Riley. "Riley, I better have a clean pillar soon...!"
"Don't worry, it's leech free now, yeesh..." Riley said, pausing to catch his breath as he leaned on his staff once leech carcasses were all that was left. He wound up shirtless with some burn marks from all the leeches that spat on him through the course of the battle, but he could have been in worse shape. "I think you can survive the ten second walk over here anyway." he said going to help Van up once again and help him over to the massive pillar as it began to regain its heavenly glow once more.
((Going offline, probably for the night and tomorrow, in fifteen minutes.))

Mala bit her lip, hoping desperately that Van could be healed up at this point. She did NOT want to lose him like this.

Riley set Van down on the ground leaning against the pillar as the glow returned, the fading god taking on a similar glow as well. "....Ah....that's good magics..." he said with a relaxed smile, looking like he just got into a nice hot bath and much more solid than he had previously. When the light show was over, Van seemed to be in tip top shape once again as he smacked his lips a bit as if getting a strange after taste. "I always forget how absorbed magic tastes like a fine wine...White, I think, or maybe red....No, definitely red...I wanna say Merlot...."
((You don't know how long I wanted to make this joke, if you could call it that. I even looked up specific wine names just to do it. XD ))

Mala watched the scene unfold for a moment, utterly dumbfounded. After many moments of simply staring, she burst out into a triumphant laughter and ran over to hug Riley and Van tightly.

"I think Atius needs to appoint a guardian for this place or something. It's kind of humiliating knowing I almost died because of some overgrown bugs." Van said with a chuckle as he returned Mala's hug. "And sorry for making you worry, both of you."
"You better be, I'm not getting healed until the next settlement!" Riley said with a laugh as he too returned his sister's hug as well.

"Don't worry, I'm feeling like a hundred and ten percent again." Van said with a small and reassuring smile before looking up at the towering pillar. "So long as this thing's in tact and shining, I can continue to expect an eternal and healthy life."

((Had another dream of inspiration last night. I don't know how we'd go about it, but the transformation of Van into some random cute animal would the result. Speech and awareness of his transformation would be optional. XD ))
