Chakra Control: 54

Rhaim was quite satisfied to find that not only could multiple smaller objects be placed into a seal intended for medium objects, but that they could all be done at the same time as well. This would prove most useful in how he intended to use the technique later on. For the time being though he still needed to see if he was also capable of getting multiple smaller objects out of the larger seal all at once. While not necessarily a deal breaker, it would drive the tactics with how the boy employed it in the future. Again he focused on using two hands since the objects being retrieved would not all fit very well into one of his hands. The flow of his chakra was noticeably different with the attempt to extract the three scrolls at once.

Rhaim nodded once in acceptance at the fact that he had reached the limit on how large of an item he could fit into the summoning seal. He set about to gather up his supplies once again and soon had his backpack on again. Standing off from the tree that had been his back rest he dug his hands into his pockets and stared up at the early morning sky. He sighed slightly realizing that since he finished the task too quickly he would have no excuse no to get to work immediately. His hopes for a nap were quickly fading away. So he turned in the direction of the village and set out towards his home, in order to gather the materials needed for the next phase.

(From Ichiraku Ramen)

Doru arrived after a long walk, he was a little tired, but that didn't worry him to much. He only had one thing on his mind right now. It wasn't the date his mother died, heck, that was four months away. He just like to come here more than once a year to remember her, so that he never will forget her.
He got to the Memorial Stone, but didn't go quite all the the way up to it. He got to his knees and sat on his feet. Doru then closed his eyes and bowed his head.
"I love you mother."

After a good half an hour of thoughts about what he remembered of her, he decided to go home and have a sleep. For a really did need it. So he got up, and bowed a little in the direction of the stone in respects to all others who are remembered here and then walked in the direction to where he lived.

Shiro reached into his ranged weapons bag and pulled out a single shuriken. He held it in his hand for a little while to get a feel for the weight before he tried to throw it. Well Shuriken certainly aren't very heavy. he thought to himself as he moved on to practicing what he thought was a proper throwing motion. Satisfied with his practice Shiro decided to actually the shuriken. He brought his arm up over his head and then swung it in a downward motion as he released the shuriken. He watched the black metal streak through the air on a trajectory that took it straight into the ground. His throw was almost a complete and total failure. The only way that it could have been worse would be if he had hit himself with the Shuriken. Well this has got to be just like the hand seals; nobody get a hit on the targets heart their first try.

Since the shuriken was still within his reach Shiro simply bent over and picked it up. He wiped the dirt off of the weapon and onto his pants until it gleamed in the early morning sun. Once more he practiced his overhead throwing motion for a couple of minutes. When he felt comfortable with his throwing motion Shiro did it for real. After releasing the shuriken he watched it with great hope and anticipation as it sailed towards the wooden dummy that was his target. As the milliseconds passed the shuriken deviated ever so slightly from the the imperfection of Shiro's throw until the point when it made contact with the wooden dummy. Yes! I hit the target this time! he cheered to himself. He then squinted to try and see where the shuriken had actually hit the target. To his dismay he had completely missed all of the vital areas with his strike. Shiro slowly removed his academy scroll so that he could look up the obviously low point value for his hit. As he scanned through the lesson he realized that his hit had only been worth a measly one point.

Shiro was very unhappy with his previous throw so as he reached down to pull out his second shuriken he was already thinking about a better way to throw the shuriken. So far throwing the shuriken downward has sucked twice in a row so I should probably try throwing it from the side like a frisbee. he thought as he held the second shuriken in his hand. Once more shiro waited for a few minutes as he let his hand get used to the weight of the shuriken. Then, with the sideways flick of his wrist, he let the shuriken fly towards the wooden dummy. It impacted in the target in a promising spot with a satisfying thwack. With hopeful eyes Shiro looked downrange to the target to see the point zone that it had landed in. Sweet, it's dead center in the heart zone! he thought as he eagerly looked up the point value for the heart. Sweet! I got five points for that throw. With a total of six points out of thirty-one Shiro was slowly making some progress on the target practice lesson.

With a sense of excitement and accomplishment filling his body Shiro eagerly pulled out his third shuriken. Quickly taking aim Shiro let the third one fly without even so much as a practice throw. He had become a little overly cocky after his recent success with the new throwing style. In this case Shiro would suffer for his over confidence. The shuriken flew through the air wildly on its way to the target. When it finally impacted, the throw was barely any good and the shuriken had just barely managed to stick to the target. He looked dismally down range to check out his hit. The shuriken was miles away from any vital zone which he knew straight away meant he'd only be getting one point for that toss. Clearly it served him right for his over confidence but it did make him think about whether or not his technique was off instead of questioning the little time that he had taken in preparation for the throw.

As a result of his previous throw's disappointing result Shiro was taking a little bit more time with this one. With his fourth shuriken in hand he was starting to get used to each one's almost identical weight as he played with the weapon in his hand. After getting used to the weight of the shuriken he practiced his throwing motion again as he rotated his forearm back and forth with a quick flick at the end of the rotation. When he was satisfied with the length of time that he spent practicing the throw Shiro took a firm stance and then threw the shuriken, like he had practiced, at the wooden dummy. When the shuirken collided with the wooden dummy down range Shiro was both happy and disappointed with the results. The shuriken had gone high and left from where he was aiming but it was still a head shot so the hit was worth three points. Now at ten points Shiro was at about the one third point for the required score on the shuriken training.

Unbeknownst to Shiro it had become mathematically impossible for him to reach the target thirty-one points with one round of throws but that wouldn't stop him. It certainly would have been more exciting to finish with only the one set of weapons but it just wasn't going to happen. Of course Shiro could always go back and repeat the training as well. This time the young academy student wanted to go for consistency. So as he practiced his throwing motion the boy made sure that he was aiming for the same exact spot as last time. After a few minutes of practicing the motions the boy let his shuriken fly. As the weapon moved through the air towards the dummy he watched with anticipation of what he hoped was going to happen. When the shuriken collided with the dummy at the end of the range it dug into the wood within the head zone and was almost right next to the shuriken that the boy had thrown previously. He had succeeded at his attempt of making a consistent throw and was now certain about the quality of his throwing technique.

With his recent success in the endeavor of attaining consistency in his throws Shiro wanted to see if he could keep that up with his next and final shuriken throw. Having become used to the standard weight of shuriken Shiro no longer needed to play with it in his hand until he became adjusted. Since he was able to skip the first step the young boy went straight into the second step. For a few minutes he practiced his throwing motion so that he could engrave the muscle movements into his subconscious and do them without thinking when the proper time came. When he was finished with practicing the throwing movements it was time for Shiro to move onto step three. For the third time in a row Shiro aimed at the heart zone with the intention that the shuriken would hit the head zone again. With his movements becoming almost identical to the previous two it came as no surprise when the shuriken struck the wooden dummy in the head almost right next to the previous two shuriken.

With his sixth and final shuriken being a head shot and worth three points it meant that Shiro had crossed the halfway point by reaching sixteen of thirty-one points. With his shurikens exhausted the only things left that he had available to throw at the wooden dummy were three kunai. Shiro pulled out one of the kunai from his ranged weapons bag and played around with it for few minutes as he got used to the difference in weight between it and a shuriken. Well I have no idea if the same throwing style that I used for the shuriken will work with a kunai but there's only one way to find out. he thought to himself as he went through the same process that he used to throw a shuriken for the kunai. After releasing the kunai Shiro could see that throwing the two different weapons in the same way did work but he needed to put a lot more behind the kunai to get the same results. Otherwise it would end up like the he had just thrown which landed short of the target.

As he continued to train using the target practice lesson that was required as part of his academy curriculum Shiro was starting to feel quite hot. Despite the fact that it was still quite early in the morning the temperature had already broken one hundred degrees Fahrenheit so he was also beginning to feel kind of thirsty. After I use up my last kunai with this throw I'll have to go buy myself a canteen from the marketplace so that I can bring some water back out here with me. the thought as he played with the second and final kunai. After going through his practice motions and taking aim Shiro let the kunai fly towards his target. Despite having put more power behind the throw it still hadn't been enough to hit his desired target. The kunai just barely stuck into the wooden dummy and on top of that he hadn't hit any of the target zones so he had only earned one point. With that disappointing result in mind Shiro went and rounded up all of his ranged weapons so that he could go buy that canteen from the market place.

After having returned from his mission to buy an empty sake gourd, and having gotten it filled with water so that he could drink and get some water into his system he felt great. With a new feeling of hydration Shiro was ready to continue his training from where he had left off. He pulled out his first shuriken and went straight into his throwing motion practice. From there he started his aiming process but instead of aiming at his usual spot that had been getting him the head shots he tried to compensate for the up and to the right movement by aiming down and to left of the heart zone. His hope was that in doing so it would cause the shuriken to hit the heart zone instead of the head. With his plan in mind he took aim and threw the shuriken. Sure enough it hit the heart zone with a satisfying thwack and netted him another five points.Sweet my plan totally worked! he cheered to himself with a smile as he looked at the now deceased wooden dummy.

Having achieved some measure of success with his shuriken Shiro decided that it was time for some more practice with his kunai. Taking out a single kunai he played with it in his hand to get a feel for the weight first. When he had adjusted himself for the weight of the Kunai Shiro moved on to practicing the throwing movements. After becoming satisfied with the amount of time that he had spent practicing the throwing motion the young academy student took aim at the wooden dummy that was located down range. Once again his Kunai just fell short of the target because it had a lack of power behind the throw. The boy sighed at the results of throw as he just couldn't seem to get the knack of how to throw a kunai. At least he had passed the two thirds mark with previous throw so he was still close to finishing the training.

With a desire to actually learn how to throw a kunai right Shiro took out his second kunai. Once again he played around with it in his hand to get a feel for the weight before he moved on to practice his throwing motion. I have to learn how to do this since the kunai is a basic ninja tool. he told himself as he continued to practice the motion. When he was satisfied with his practice he let the kunai fly towards the dummy. A loud clink was emitted when the second kunai collided with the first kunai that was already on the ground. His throw was consistent but he still hadn't put enough power behind it. He knew that he had to put more strength behind the throw since he was throwing the kunai consistently which meant that nothing was wrong with his aim. Still stuck at twenty two points Shiro was starting become a little bit frustrated between his lack of progress and the damn heat. His latest throw had netted him another huge zero points and he was only nine points away from finishing so who wouldn't be at least a little frustrated.
