Daegonna nodded, and sat in silence for a moment. "They - my family I mean - think he did something unspeakably terrible to me, they think I'm the victim of some horrible cruelty...I'm not sure what to think." She confessed. "I loved him - still love him - but I hate that more than anything. He did unforgivable things to all of my family. But he was kind, gentle, with me." She shrugged. "The addiction was more than just physical...He had incredible power over me, but I don't feel like he abused me with it..." She broke off, realizing she was rambling. The girl shook her horned head, and emptied her wineglass.

Thank-you, Roen. My name is Cora. Until very recently Roan was aidig in some critical research at the labs where I worked, but there's been an epidemic in Gambino and Barton and Iden's fallen sick.. all sorts.
Im very worried about it, but more so because our research could fix everything yet the Lady is available ot help us finish it. I wonder... could I trouble you for aid? Or at least to speak to the man in charge of our installation? If you know the Seer, you may be able to answer the questions we have in her stead. I assure you, its only knowledge we need, but the timing... the epidemic couldnt have come at a worse time.
*the white haired man shook his head in despair, then looked imploringly at Roen, though he didnt come any closer.*

Daegonna DeSeer Daegonna nodded, and sat in silence for a moment. Even the gravest of sinners have potential for good Daegonna. Otherwise they would not know how to be evil. There is every chance he did not harm you, if YOU do not believe it to be so. There is no harm in understanding the caution in your family, but ALSO in accepting what YOU know to be the truth of something that effected only you, and not them. As long as what you believe was truth does not harm others in consequence, where is the harm in it?
Love is never wrong. Its always a gift. It hurts at times, but akin to battle, it takes your everything and lets you know you are alive, and worthwhile.*Seraphim spoke as if a similar epiphony had happened to him recently, and with great conviction, even smiling*

Daegonna thought on this a moment, and then nodded in understanding. She leaned against him again, cuddling up against his cool skin. If she closed her eyes, she could almost pretend... "You sound like you've been in a similar situation before..." She said after awhile, her black brow arching in curiosity.

If there was one thing in life that Roen despised, it was being sick. Sickness in general was taboo to him, having spent most of his life on medication until Roan came into the picture to cure him with her own blood. As such, he was indebted to the matriarch, and her clan through her. The closest of allies they were, and Roen wouldn't hesitate to help; but...an epidemic? The Devil would roll his shoulders as a chill crawled up his spine, his arms dropping yet one raising to scratch the hairs growling along his jawline and cheek.
A friend of Roan is a friend of mine, I suppose.. A deep rumble of contemplation emanated from deep within Roen's chest as he mulled over Cora's words, until finally he offered the youth one of his trademark charming smiles. How could he say no to a face like that? Or to an ally of Roan's, risking damage to their relationship?
"You had me at Iden being sick, Cora. The pleasure would be mine to offer help in the Matriarch's stead. Heaven and Hell both know she's a busy woman."

My mother made me a monster... but it was because she loved my father. It was a lesson drummed into me over and over. My twin, Corbin, is just the same. He is a beast, but he loves mother totally.
It is that spark that makes us strong, and weak.
*He squeezed her shoulders and finished his second glass of merlot*
Drink?

You'll help? Oh you dont how much good it does me to hear that. Please, if you would... I can take you there straight away.
*the man gestured with a hand and shadows rolled up the bark of the tree nearby to make a doorway. Shadow play was something Roen would have seen many times before, though Cora's doorway did seem to radiate quite coldly, prehaps a little more than usual. That said, the youth himself didnt seem to mind and stepped halfway through, looking back to Roen*
I hope we can finish our research as swiftly as possible. Its all so very important...

Daegonna nodded. Love could be simultaneously the most pure and the most perverse thing ever. It had often, in her experience, been one of the darker forces in life. She smiled faintly as he squeezed her thin shoulders, and nodded. "Yes, please." she said.

I guess it wouldn't help if I said I hadn't traveled via shadows in almost a year. Should I warn him that I might purge my BLT all over him if my stomach doesn't agree?
Pursing his lips and dropping his arm to slide his hands into his pockets, Roen chuckled to himself merrily. Nah. "Lead on, Cora. Hopefully I'll get back in time to make it to the ball.." Ball? Heaven or Hell: 10. Once again fighting in the DeSeer's honor.
Baring such sweet thoughts in mind, as well as perhaps seeing Bellanox in yet another skimpy dress, Roen trudged forth and stepped through and even passed Cora, vanishing into the cold and dark abyss like the bold Devil he was, the gleam of the ankh clipped to the tip of his tail being the very last piece of his self to disappear from sight.

Prehaps...
*One ominous word. But it was too late. Roen stepped through and Cora followed all too willingly, his grin wide and dangerous as he travelled the darkness, bring Roen to their final destination, MILES from Durem, from Gaia, from civilization*

Then I prescribe a strong dose of spirits for the lady. What would you like Daegonna?
*seraphim rose and released her to round the bar, where as always there was much available. He frowned slightly as he felt someone moving in the shadows nearby, but they were moving away... no problem. Not his kin.*

Daegonna smiled a bit, and shrugged. "Something to help me forget...just for awhile..." She noticed his frown, and wondered what he was frowning about. She'd sensed the shifting shadows, too, but had thought absolutely nothing of it - in a place like this, why should she? There were all kinds of strange patrons here.

Screwdriver it is. Just for the colours.
*He fixed the cocktail with a certain grace, then slid it across to her while he fixed HIMself a further glass of merlot, though this time he added in vitae to strengthen the mix*

Daegonna smiled, and took her drink. "Thanks." She said, lifting the glass to her lips. It was probably not advisable for her to get wasted, tonight, but she told herself it'd just be enough to take the edge off. 'Cuz that doesn't sound like an alcoholic's reasoning. She watched Seraphim as he moved about on the other side of the bar, her eyes lazily following each graceful move. She had indeed missed him. There was something irresistible about flirting with danger.

*Seraphim knew her eyes were on him, but he wasnt playing to it for once. He was just being himself. He enjoyed his drink, full lips stained briefly with the deep red of the vintage before he set it back down, 2/3 gone.
He stared out the window, almost wistful, then one arm hugged Dae again, in silence, thinking*
