gelalshawr "The society was prosperous, but the people in it were complacent, they had grown slow and lazy, with no ambition for their people. no drive to improve ther world. One day the seal that had not been guarded, nor renewed for hundreds of years, finally it broke and all chaos broke loose." *She closed her eyes and put and arm around Aonice and listened to the story.*

"In one place, a rather public area where many people gathered for some reason or other, it's not really known anymore, there was one young man. It is said that he was descended from the ones that had built the seal, but it is not known for sure. He somehow felt the chaos coming, and for whatever reason, perhaps it was even instinct, he summoned all of his life-force to hold the chaos back."

"Partly... The terrified people saw the enormous wave of chaos rushing at them, they screamed and dove for cover, the destruction and terror that took place in the wake of chaos was unimaginable, even for me. But those in the gathering-place where the young man was, they waited, cowering under benches and tables for the wave to hit, but it never did. There was a barrier, a dome of some kind that stopped the tide of chaos."

"The friends that had been walking with the young man searched for him, but where he had been, at the center of the dome, stood a large statue, a great stone gargoyle, reared back, screaming silently at the sky, a beam of power rising from his open mouth into the barrier."

Outside the barrier the people could see massive destruction through the miasma of chaos. and here and there they saw movement, creatures shambling though the fog, things that had once been cattle... pets... and some even human once, but not anymore."

"Each one was different, the constant contact with the thick fog of chaos continually mutated these creatures. Some of them were poor, pathetic things that could barely survive, others were terrifying horrible beasts with many arms and huge toothy maws."

"A chimera is a powerful beast of chaos, but it has a mind, these beasts were mindless, horrible mutations. The people within the barrier were dealing with things in their own ways. Some despaired and did nothing, some prepared for a slow death, others found weapons, and prepared to defend themselves from the creatures in the mists."

gelalshawr "Many centuries ago, in a land that no one remembers the name of. Things were rather prosperous in this world, but there was no magic, no wizards, no faeries, no dragons. This was because long ago all chaos was sealed away so it could no longer harm the world. As anyone who has used magic knows, it is a very chaotic force, and so it was sealed away as well..." Gel reached over and picked up a glass and sipped some water, then prepared to continue his story. Gatz twitched in his sleep. The story sounded kind of familar...
