Meme became worried now. "Well wait I don't want to be all alone in this house by myself! Especially not at night time! Please stay! We can make dinner and make shadow puppets...or something." he said rather bashfully.

Kuro looked toward the Princess as she handed him the handkerchief and nodded. "Thank you, I'll make sure another is made for you when we reach the palace." he said softly as he began to tear the cloth into strips and bandage some of the wounds.

 Rufus knew he should get on his way, keep Meme safe by distancing himself as soon as possible, but he found himself wanting to reassure Meme. "One night, and I don't know if we have enough candles, but we can try." He blushed, looking away. "I have no idea how to cook, but I think this place has something to eat... at least, I hope so."

Trapped. She watched in silence, hiding a smile. Were it not for the fact that he still needed bandaging, she wouldn't have interrupted. Still, she hadn't seen anything to make bandages out of... other than her dress or Kuro's coat.
"Like I said... just stay and I'll be fine." He swallowed and whispered, "Not that I know why you care, but I'm grateful..." Akito opened his eyes then and smiled at Kuro, moving slightly so he could lightly touch Kuro's hand before closing his eyes again. He'd left a spot of blood behind.

Meme smiled a little and couldn't help but laugh a little. "Why don't you get everything situated, I can make us something to eat." he couldn't help but think the Prince was cute in not knowing how to cook. "Maybe I can teach you how to cook sometime."

Kuro started to loosely bandage Akito's wounds so as not to cut off the poor boy's circulation. "Nonsense. Hush now and rest." he instructed as watched the boy's condition. "Rest...we will be at the palace soon."

"I think I'd like that." Rufus murmured, watching Meme laugh and thinking him adorable. Instead of moving away, he gently lifted Meme's head and kissed his lips. "But perhaps we'd do well to have our lessons somewhere other than the palace - Cook would have an apolectic fit, and Kuro would definitely not approve..." he murmured, smiling as he slowly released Meme.
Maybe, if this place remains hidden... we could sneak away and learn here, together. He grinned at the thought.

Trapped. Seeing Kuro wasn't about to respond in her presence, she cleared her throat. "We can sacrfice my dress - a few inches off the hem won't be a problem - or your coat. Which would you prefer?"
Akito nodded, suddenly weak as he allowed himself to drift off.

Meme blushed and couldn't help but stifle a rather girly giggle at the comment. "Okay, lets make something simple shall we?" He asked happily, taking the Prince's hand and leading him toward the kitchen to figure out what he could make.
A while later Meme finished the food he made, spaghetti and garlic bread. Luckily there were just enough resources for the both of them to have a good portion of dinner. "It's ready!" he announced rather excitedly.

Kuro shook his head. "Don't worry My Lady, I covered the wounds that were above the main arteries. The other wounds aren't very deep." he said softly as he kept watch over Akito.
A couple hours later they arrived at the Palace. "Follow behind me quickly My Lady." he said softly, carrying Akito in his arms and jumping out of the carriage as he practically flew through the doors and down each corridor until he reached the nurses wing. Kuro left Akito in the hands of their finest nurse to care for him who quickly began her work on cleaning and stitching each wound.

Rufus looked up with a sheepish expression. He was looking forward to dinner, but the fire didn't seem to want to co-operate and he'd been completely useless with the cooking. The only thing that was right was the table settings, and since they were simpler than he was used to...
Gah! I'm one of those useless royals!
However, even as he thought that and gave one final strike to the wood, the fire sprang to life... and he jumped back in shock, landing on his butt. "I did it!" he turned to Meme, beaming. "I actually lit the fire! I -" he broke off, looking down at his hands. "Ahem. It's something everyone can do, isn't it?" He looked like a kicked puppy.

Trapped. "Oh - don't worry about me, you need to get him seen to!" But even as she said it, she followed him: the palace may belong to Rufus and Alaric, but in their absence the Butler was the one who ran things. Besides which he might need her.
Akito yelped and came awake as he was moved, he couldn't help it. But he quieted after looking at Kuro, who was frantic enough for both of them. When he was put down, he held out his hand to Kuro silently, wanting him to stay.

Meme jumped a bit in surprise as well, seeing the fire spring to life as it did. "Don't worry, even I still have trouble getting the fire to light. Now is the easy part, keeping the fire lit! Come on, lets have some dinner." he said with a small smile, bringing the pot of spaghetti that was already mixed with the sauce to the table, leaving the garlic bread in the oven to keep warm.

Kuro saw the hand and caressed it gently in his own. He needed to get the Princess into her own room but he couldn't leave the poor boy by himself. Kuro turned to look at the Princess and gave a small sigh. "My Lady...will you keep us company for a little while? I will see to it that you have a bedroom to your liking to stay in for the night. But I cannot leave his side right now."

The Prince smiled gratefully at Meme, jumping to his feet to help him with the dinner. "It smells delicious." He complimented, his stomach growling. Still, he held Meme's chair for him before sitting down and serving the dinner into two bowls.

Trapped. "I shall stay - unless I'm in the way, in which case I can tend to myself." She smiled. "Any old bed will do, so long as I don't trespass on someone else's privacy..."
As she looked around, she noticed that the Cook had come into the room, so she held out her hand. "I'm Princess -" she yawned, stopping to cover her mouth.
Cook took one look at her face and turned to Kuro. "I shall see the Princess to bed. You just make sure to tell me how our young man is doing." She took the Princess' arm and guided her away.Akito relaxed, wincing only when the wounds were touched accidentally. He squeezed Kuro's hand frequently, making sure he was still there.

Meme smiled and took his seat when it was presented to him, watching him dish their dinner. "There's bread in the oven. I didn't want all of it to go cold." he said softly, waiting patiently for Rufus to sit down and eat before he would start eating himself.

Kuro nodded at the servant. "Thank you Cook." he said softly as he turned his gaze back to Akito. "I'm here. Just rest some more." he whispered softly, taking a tissue and damping the boy's forehead to get rid of the sweat. He hoped Akito would sleep, the wounds would heal a lot faster if Akito slept. He waited for the nurse to finish with her stitching, and instructed Akito to not move too quickly and rip one of the stitches. As soon as the nurse left Kuro let go of Akito's hand, taking his jacket off and gently picking Akito up just a little so Kuro could slide under him protectively, draping his jacket over the two of them.

Rufus immediately got up. "You can start eating without me." He smiled as he went to the oven and retrieved the garlic bread, placing it between them on the table. Then he picked up his fork and tried to eat the spagetti, which kept sliding off of his fork. He scowled down at it as he kept trying.

Akito squeaked when he was lifted, but then Kuro settled behind and beneath him, which made his eyes water as a smile lit up his face. "Thank you. I think I'll sleep better... like... this..." he yawned, gingerly inching as close as possible to Kuro before falling asleep.

Meme gave a bashful smile but continued to wait for Rufus anyways, after all Meme did have a sense of manners about him. Once Rufus sat down, Meme began to eat and watched Rufus try to figure out how to eat. Meme would have started laughing but he didn't want to embarrass the Prince. "Try it this way." He took Rufus' fork, placed it in the bowl and twirled it around the noodles before he held the fork in the air to feed Rufus.

Kuro kept Akito close as the boy drifted off to sleep and stayed with him for the rest of the night.

Rufus' embarrassment disappeared as he watched Meme lifting the food to his mouth. He accepted the food, then smiled at his husband. "I think I could like this - in private." To demonstrate why, he caught Meme's hand and kissed it before turning back to his own bowl.
He imitated Meme's strategy clumsily, then offered it to him. "Like this?"

Meme blushed a bit at the kiss but resumed eating when he saw Rufus try it on his own. Meme finished the bite he took from his own bowl before taking the bite of noodles off of the Prince's fork and smiling happily. "Yep! Just like that!" he said with a smudge of sauce on the corner of his mouth. "I guess there are a few things even I could teach you huh?"

"Ohhh, I'm sure we can teach each other many things..." Rufus whispered, reaching out to wipe the sauce away with his thumb and licking it off said thumb before resuming eating. "What kind of shadow puppets would you like us to attempt?"

Meme blushed again when the sauce was wiped from his cheek, at least they weren't anywhere fancy so he didn't embarrass himself by not wiping his mouth. "O-oh....I don't know, we can make little fish puppets and have a little mermaid thing?" he said with a small laugh. "It's also easy to make a dog with your hand, it's fun to make dog shadow puppets. I used to do shadow puppets with my parents right before bedtime. Kind of a way of making our own stories."
