Rhea's tail wagged and he slide his head from Aras' hand and he smiled padding over to his mother. He sat down looking at her. He was really enjoying having a new pack. It was so much fun.
Ruran got up and winced stretching his sore tired muscles working out his kinks, "Yes sir..."
Man this might not be a good thing. He should have just sucked it up and listened about wood and fire and smoke. He wondered if his parents were waiting for them in the clearing.

Armus grinned at Rhea and held her hands out to him, beckoning for him to come closer. She had only had him for a night and a morning, but already she couldn't imagine her life without him. Her mothering instincts had hit her hard, and she swore to herself that she would take perfect care of him.
Corrah started off into the woods at a brisk pace.
"Come," he said simply, his pace a quick walk for him, but what would be a sprint or a run for the small boy.

Rhea smirked at his mother and looked almost like a small fox. He crouched down his but going into the air and wagging as his hand padded the ground trying to get her to play with him.
Ruran nods and took off after the man. Man this was fast...he hated running but at least it was not twigs...unless Corrah was going to start quizzing him on this stuff wail running.

Armus was all for playing, and she scrambled to her knees and knelt across from Rhea, grinning widely at him.
"What you going to do?" she asked him in a taunting, teasing tone, bracing her feet so that she could start running right away if he showed signed of suddenly bolting. Her eyes sparkled as she looked at him, and she waited to see how he wanted to play.
Corrah did not slow his pace even in the least, but he led Ruran back to the waterfall where the boy had spent the night, and then past it into the woods. He didn't bother looking over his shoulder for the boy: he kept track of him by listening for the sounds of his feet in the underbrush. He said nothing and gave no indication of their destination, but he moved through the trees as easily and as silently as if he were a ghost.

Rhea's eyes lit up even brighter as his mother got to her knees. He gave a loud bark and a play growl as he jumped from side to side. His tail never stopping it's wag and he giggled as he jumped forward sudden'y aiming to take the beret right off his mother's head.
Ruran tried to keep up with the older elf. He sighed and tried to work his breathing but he could not figure it out. His pace slowed but he used his ears to keep following the dark man. He didn't want to run he wanted to fight...to use a weapon. Not learn about fire and running. Oh these basic things drove him wild.

Armus squawked a bit, flailing for her beret - of all the things she had expected Rhea to attempt, that had not been one of them! But she laughed, her blue eyes flashing playfully as she looked at her foster son.
"I'll get that back, you," she grinned, adjusting her stance so that she could pounce without warning him.
Corrah continued on, making sure that Ruran wasn't being left too far behind, until several minutes later he reached another small stream, this one calm and quiet. There, he stopped, waiting for the boy to catch up with him.

Rhea giggled and turned to take off in a run the beret being held oddly from his mouth. He started to trip over it right when his mother moved to pounce him he rolled from under her and giggled his tail thudding hard as he shook his head.
Ruran continued to follow, though he was starting to tire so quickly and as soon as he made it to the stream and saw Corrah stopping he collapsed to his knees panting hard.

Armus laughed and landed in a roll, but she rolled in the opposite direction of Rhea and had to scramble to her feet to chase after him again. Grinning, she reached for her beret, trying to snatch it from Rhea's mouth without yanking out any of his teeth.
Corrah watched Ruran expressionlessly as the boy stumbled and fell to his knees, but he had no pity for the boy. He wanted to train physically, this was what he was going to do.
"Here," he said shortly, taking a throwing knife - the equivalent of a short sword for the tiny boy - from his robes and holding it down to Ruran. "Take it."

Rhea giggled and barked around the hat but his mother got ahold of it. He growled and tried to pull it away from her and even though she tried not to tear a tooth or two out, one got hooked in the hat and was pull free causing him to jump back and lick the whole where his missing tooth was. He didn't cry at all just wagged his tail and licked his mouth.
Ruran's eyes lit up at the 'gift' He stood up though it was clear that his small body was very tired but he watching Corrah reached up to take the small throwing knife. "T..thank you sir.."

Armus was surprised when she got the beret away from Rhea, but even more so when she saw that he had indeed lost a tooth out of the deal - and that the tooth had landed on the inside of the hat.
"I hope that was ready to come out," she murmured worriedly, taking the tooth and putting it in one of her many pockets. "Maybe we can make a necklace or something out of this for you."
She put her beret back on and held her hands out to Rhea. "Come, let me look at your mouth and make sure you're all right," she smiled softly at him.
Corrah could see how pleased the boy was to be receiving the knife, but this wasn't a time for fun - this was training, as Ruran wanted.
He pointed at the river. "Catch a fish," he said simply. He seriously doubted that the boy could do it - the fish were fast and all of Ruran's movements would be slowed by the water. But this was to show him that strength and speed were necessary before fighting would be an option for him. He needed to learn that his way was not necessarily the right way.

Rhea could tell that Armus wanted something from him and he shook his head. He was not going to give it to here what ever it was. He still liked at the hole in his mouth but he smirked and turned to run off into the bushes. He was going to make her fight for it.
Ruran raised a brow, "How am I suppose to catch a fish? I don't even know how to fish?" He sighed and took off his boots, and moved into the water holding the knife oddly.
Alright he just had to catch a fish. He watched them dart about as he got in the water and he started to stab away trying to catch one. It might have been an easy task for Kanis but for Ruran's inpatient mind it was not so easy. And soon enough he started to grow angry again.

Armus's eyes opened wide in surprise. He had actually run away from her! She hoped that he was just playing and that he wasn't actually leaving ...
"Rhea!" she called out, her voice filled with worry. "Rhea! Come back here! Rhea!"
And she scrambled after him.
Despite her exhaustion, Aras woke at the commotion and looked around. Seeing that she and Kanis had been left alone, she froze. Now what?
Corrah said nothing to Ruran, just let him try however he liked to catch the fish. He watched Ruran's style silently, hoping that the boy was learning the lesson intended.
"Whatever you catch is your meal," he said finally. "I will not be feeding you again before your parents come."
Incentive was always a good thing, after all.

Hearing the worry in his mother's voice Rhea came out of the bushes his head cocked to the side. He didn't know why she didn't want to play...why was she so worried.
He whimpered softly and stepped slowly closer to her his nose working to see what was wrong...but he could not smell anything but worry on her. "maaathhherrr?"
Ruran growled more father maddened by the words. He would not get to eat? He was starving! His body tensed more and he continued stabbing away chasing faster the fish now. He would not stop until he caught one. And so far he seemed to have taken 2 steps back in the learning.

Armus sighed with relief when Rhea stepped out of the bushes, and she scooped him up and hugged him close.
"I thought you were leaving me," she breathed, still terrified at the thought. "Stay close, all right? I don't want to lose you ..."
She looked back to where she had left the girls and saw that Aras was awake. "Come on, let's go back to Aras and Kanis," she murmured softly to Rhea, stroking his hair. "They'll be afraid with us gone."
Corrah watched Ruran closely, though it looked like he was ignoring the boy, and it was all he could do to keep from laughing. At this rate, there was no way the boy was ever going to catch anything. He was scaring all of the fish away with his constant stabbing and running!

Rhea nuzzled his mother's cheek and gave her a soft warm lick. He didn''t know what was wrong. He was trying to play with her but he hurt her. He leaned back and smiled brightly at her licking her nose his tail wagging hard trying to make her smile again.
He tried to think then he opened his mouth to show her his missing fang. Maybe that would do it?
Ruran growled and held the knife up so he could look around and see the fish. He grumbled mumbling things to himself that were good that they were only mumbled.
He waited a minute until he found another school of fish and started to stab away again.
