The "Protagonist Complex" can't actually be a positive notion. It's completely negative.
It's basically, two characters pitted against each other, Character 1 and 2, and one player decides:
Character 1 is stronger.
Player 2 concedes, and plays for speed.
Player 1 pretty much ignores this, deciding his character is also as fast, if not faster.
Player 2 attempts to have Character 2 play a trick/ambush that Character 1 can't see or react to very well (something from behind, et cetera).
Player 1 miraculously has his character know what's happening.
And, throughout the fight, Player 1's character seems to never be caught off-guard, do anything wrong, or mess up. Their character is constantly perfect in every attempted action, and any attempt at redirection or reversal by Player 2's posts are somehow "just as planned."
TL;DR: The "Protagonist Complex" is a nice way of calling someone an egotistical, overly competitive d**k-face.

Goddammit - that just makes me remember bad fights. I can't begin to call just how many times I've met with people whose personality consists of "Protagonist Complex". Especially when confronting with people that have no mindset of 'losing' or 'accepting said loss'. Either tanking it through or killing you off first, then suffer the injuries later.
