He was calm...er. That much eased some of the tension. It was enough that Iden's form began to shift once more, changing back to that of a man. As soon as he was seated cross legged before Javos, he reached to his neck, snapped off the charm, and tossed it to the Ceilican.

This is yours. It was given to me by a friend. We met in LA, shortly before he died. He mentioned you, and wanted me to return it for him. I don't give half a s**t whether you believe that or not, but open your eyes and look at me. Look long and hard, Javos, and tell me if these are the eyes of a man that means you harm. You killed me. And in doing so, you stole me from the Wyrm, saved my life and my mind. Shortly after, I rid myself of the daemon. Can you smell his presence on me? All I did to your mate was subdue her when she tried to sacrifice me to the Wyrm. All of it to find YOU. And now, before I put my life in your hands, and submit myself to YOUR mercy and beg for YOUR forgiveness on hands and knees, we need to go, before the rest of HER pack catches up to us with vengeance on me for stealing her from them, and by now likely on her for turning her back on them. So shut the ******** up and start walking, or I'm going to be forced to drag your mangy a** out of here. We are leaving town, and if you don't want to be cornered by a full pack of corrupted ones who've scoured the rest of town after you, you'll be wise to do the same. GOT IT?

It was long winded, irritated, and altogether tense. After all he had been through, Iden was tired, irritated, and wanting a quick meal and a long nap. So he eyed Javos carefully, fixing the glacial stare on the Ceilican and refusing to part his gaze until his words had been affirmed.

..the man I called friend would not speak thus to one hurt or in need. But... you have already compromised my work, my life... it will not hurt to go somewhere safer to hear the full bredth of this. I stand better chances against two, than against a pack, as you say.
Thank you Javos.. I have a saf...
No. If you wish away form here, FINE, but you will follow ME, to where I am safe. I'll not walk wilingly into one of the Wyrms nets. Get off me.

*Reluctantly, Alyna rose and Javos stood, shaking himself. Gently, he bent down and took the charm between his teeth... then he leapt the wall and was off and running. It ws up to them to keep up with him, through he district, the allotments and houses to a small cluster of buildings a good four miles away. Javos bounded one of the back walls and landed in...

A miniature jungle. Someone had tended the massive garden shared by these houses and filled it with native plants and wate rfeatures, the largest fo whih was a massive set of rocks with water cascading over them. Javos vanished between them and into the darkness of a lair dug out beyond, where he had clearly been living*

You. Iden. Start talking. I will admit you do not smell as you did when you... I...

*Javos shivered and changed forms, standing nude and proud before the pair for a moment, letting them see the awful scars along his stomach and neck before he wrapped himself in furs and sat*

Tell me why I should listen to a single thing you say to me. And 'Im a better person now' isnt going to cut it when you OH so conveniently turn up with Seig's charm... what happened to my friend.

*For her part, Alyna simply gasped at the scars her bore before his neck band slid to hide the scars there, and began to weep for what he had been through*

The man doing the talking has been beaten, maimed, borderline raped, bound, dragged, kidnapped across a continent, nearly sacrificed, and gutted like a goddamn FISH in the past week and a half, and is running on a nearly empty stomach. Forgive me, Javos, if I'm just a LITTLE testy.

It was all Iden could get off before the Ceilican was off. Swearing softly, Iden bounded after him, shifting quickly so as to not be running naked through the streets just to keep up. It was easier, for once, to maintain a low profile as a feline.

The landing in the garden was rough. He hit the ground wrong, and rolled into the pond. It took a bit of a scramble, but finally the soaked DeSeer wound up with the others, where he sagged against a wall and returned to his proper form.

I'm a better person would be the wrong thing to say anyways. I've told you in a nutshell what's happened. Korbinian dragged me to hell in the war. I showed up. You know what happened, up until you took that shovel and did a goddamn miracle. I don't know how it happened, other than that I found myself in a new, uncorrupted body. Maybe it was because the great b*****d never got my soul under its claws...that is safe at the mansion. We had rough times....it almost fell apart. You weren't the only one to suffer the aftermath. I...fled. I had corrupted my line, almost killed my brother, my adopted son, and then I had tortured one I called a close friend. So I hid with the anarchs in LA. Sieg met me there. He joined up for a game of nines...the boss brought him back from it. We met. He saw me, and we conversed. I was both horrified and thankful to hear you were alive and perhaps recovering. Then...Sieg died. He did it peacefully, he had chosen his own time. I was entrusted with this charm, but I had to return home. Things had gotten unstable, and had I not, there would be no DeSeer name anymore. Since then I've been struggling. We fought Syn, killed them all. I was maimed, and only recently was reborn again...when that happened, I freed myself from the daemon. With no more battles to draw me from what I felt obligated to do, I came to the Amazon, where Sieg had hinted at you going. There, Alyna found me. It was...unpleasant. She and her pack missed me once, but netted me the second time. I told you what happened already, I was brought to the city in the crudest of ways possible, to be given over to the Wyrm. I only just knew of the rebellion against him...I had spoken with Korbinian, once, after you killed me. He was remorseful, and shocked to see what I had done. Hearing that he's freeing himself does my mind good, though it doesn't stop the fact that if you don't more than one thing from this, its that you ARE being hunted, and they WILL find you, having scoured most of the town already. I broke free and kidnapped Alyna to get her to guide me here. I was forced to bind her to my will to insure she could not bring her pack after me...I will not go back into the Wyrms service. It...offered her to me. Tempted me. I did not accept. All the pain I caused was to force cooperation in my hunt, nothing more...and after you fled from the temple...she started to understand what she was, and why I was here. If there is anything in my power that will make it possible, I will use it to rip her chains to the Wyrm away from its grasp, and free her. I do this, because you told me once of how you missed your mate. I would see you have some semblance of peace, Javos. I've taken much from you, and I wish to try and give something back in pennance for what I did. And now...I am yours. Name whatever fate you wish. I will accept it without question. I put myself under your orders as you did to me, when first we met. I...had told Roan I meant to bring you home. I lied to her. You are missed there, but I will ask no more of you. I do not deserve to.

With the final words, Iden knelt. He was on both knees, his head dipped to touch the ground. It was almost a piteous sight, as the young DeSeer threw aside his pride and subjected himself to the unknown.

... and you?

*Silence, aimed at Iden. He neither dictated a fate, nor told Iden he coud rise. He merely looked at his one time mate*

...he speaks truth JAvos. When last I saw you, you were being dragged away, netted by the men who came for our people. It tore my heart, more so than the bullets that wounded me. You know I had heard of the dark god and his power... I gave in hoping to find you, save you.
Ever since then I have been seeking you, with the Wyrms blessing. He made me one of his favoured, and I have done awful things in his service, thinking it all the best if I got to see you...

In the mean time, I heard that Korbinian had brought one of the DeSeer to the master, and that he knew where to find you. The m... the Wyrm never told me what he APPROVED Iden to do to you. I did not know the torture and torment he wished for you, for I went through none of it. Until Iden came ot the Amazon and the Wyrm offered even me to him in hopes of finding you and quashing the rebllion your friend has started.

Even offered as a TOY, I did not see my folly until I saw you.... Iden is already breaking my chains. Out of compassion for you. What BOTH of us have done is unforgiveable, but... BOTH of us would see you safe, and away form here. We are all THREE hunted.

*Javos rose silently. First, he went o ALyna and sniffed her, snorting*

Go and wash. Leave me with my tormentor.
...as you wish.

*Alyna slunk off, still tearful and quietly weeping as Javos padded over to Iden. One of his great paws pressed Iden into the dirt by his neck as he sniffed him, warm breath whispering over Iden's flesh as he then licked him softly, before sitting back, tail flicking side to side*

You lie poorly. One day... you will tell me what really happened to Seig, but I believe you did not harm him. On that day... prehaps you will fully have my trust again.
For now... you have my apologies for what I did. And for what I did not do. I did nt save you from the Germans and I did not come looking for you. It has haunted me ever since.
Get up Iden. I cant hug a man laying in the dirt.

Iden remained stock still, his eyes held shut while he waited. Javos was dealing with the woman first, which left him to sit and writhe inside. But he had gone through with his intentions, meaning he would remain with no voice until Javos gave it to him.

The sudden pressure forcing him to the ground was not rough, but it was unexpected. Iden's face ground into the soil, before it alleviated. Then, the words that came over his ears were both a titanic relief, and a twisting of the knife.

He rose, and met Javos' gaze.

Anything I have not told you, I have not told you because I do not know. I've...lost much, of late. There are holes and gaps in my life. Examine it as you will, Javos. And...I'm sorry. For all of it.
PostPosted: Fri Jul 24, 2009 6:31 pm

Not as sorry as I...

*He went to Iden and rubbed his furred form along his side, his cheeks against Iden's cheeks, a cat sign of deep affection. He wanted comfort, and he was indeed crying as he purred along his friends body*

I have had nightmares every night since it happened... but its not you hurting me I dream of. Its the priestesses, the seal, and you being sucked down, and I can do nothing to help... Im still so scared, still running but... this is beyond what I could have hoped for. You saved me Iden, and I failed to save you. I am SO glad you broke free... so glad...

*He looked to the doorway to his 'home', where Alyna was washing herself under the water, unhearing of the men.*

And you have rescued my mate... I am in YOUR debt as always my friend... I did not think I would ever see her again. Thank you.

*Alyna then came back to join them, suprised when she saw Javos nuzzling Iden*

Jav...
Alyna.

*Smiling, with cat lips, Javos bounded to her, tumbled her and pinned her, playful almost as he leant down to lick her face. In doing so, beautiful, rich, golden spots covered them both, taint pushed back and away from both of them as thunderous purrs filled the cavern. In fact, it was all lovey enogh to make you sick.*

Will you come home with me, Alyna?
Of course... where are we going?
To the mansion, if Iden will still have me...
Us. Im his cat too.
Lucky him. Iden? Will you take us back? And... will you tell us more of Korbinian? If there is a Rebellion...a chance to win more of our people back..
One thing at a time oh great leader... as yet, I am not totally free...
You are my love. You are. Only temptation remains, and you can beat that. Lets go home.

*Javos looked hopefully at Iden*

You DID free me. I couldn't have busted myself out without that shovel to the brainpan, mate. Corruption of flesh and mind had me ENJOYING what I was doing...

He shuddered. None of the topic at hand was pleasing to consider. It made him ill to think of it. THe sudden displays of kitten love shortly thereafter made Iden literally avert his gaze, and leave them to their shenanigans, until he was directly addressed.

Oh lord. No, no, no, I don't DO pets. Roan would KILL me. Either you two are coming as friends and equals, or the fun bus ain't going anywhere. You two are gonna stand up and WALK your way out of this shitheap town, or goddammit I....ah ******** it. Lets just go before the bad man finds us. I need a drink.

It was hard to stay angry with the pair, after the scene they had made. Iden needed sarcasm, and badly. It almost made him WANT to get in a fistfight with the city's undead population.
PostPosted: Fri Jul 24, 2009 6:51 pm

*Some unseen look went between the two, and they went to him, one standing either side of him, both worming their heads under his hands*

As you say boss...
Lead the way....

*it would seem the two cats togetehr made for a greater sum of their parts. And Iden was likely to be wound up royally by the pair all the way home*

We should head east out of town. Toward sthe jungle. Its easier to run and hide there.
How are we going to get home?
Whose Roan?
Iden can tell you.

Honestly, I hadn't considered that part. And seeing as SOMEONE stripped me of all my material wealth during the road trip...it looks like we're walking, at least some of the way. The rest can be arranged once I find someone to mug for change to use a pay phone. I'm ******** starving as it, after the canopener went to work.

They were light jabs, with no insult meant. Iden bore no ill will to either of the pair, not even to Alyna, after all she had done to him. Experience told him it had not all been her will, and so he let the hardships turn to jest. A moment of pause, though, brought a single, all encompassing statement to his lips as he took stock of the situation.

I'm naked. I need pants.
PostPosted: Fri Jul 24, 2009 6:59 pm

Try the chest against the back wall.

*Javos nodded his head towards it. INside, pants - a little short for Iden's leg length, but they'd fit his waist - and plenty of money. A whole heap of the stuff*

I was working to pay for a trip to the States. I was going to visit your grave. Because of the damage I coudl take and show I could put on... I got paid well. Will it get us our of Mexico at least?
Kindly promise me not ot put yoursel fon show like that again...
If you promise not to hit on the boss again, sure.

*It seemed Iden wasnt the only one lightly jesting now the stress was done*

The pants were a good start. The money was even better. He lifted the payment, and nodded.

All I need is change for a phone, mate. The rest of its yours to keep. I'm...not going to worry about legality here. I haven't hotwired a car in too long.

He drew the trousers about his waist, and made sure they fit, before pocketing as much of the money as he could. After all....he WAS the only one with pockets at the moment.

So how'd you run into the bint? She Sabbat, or independant?

Iden was double checking himself, now. He was almost as if he had a fresh source of energy. The second wind would carry him at least long enough to start driving...after that, he'd be relying on the two cats for quite some time.

Ready to go when you two are. We'll need to keep low until I can swipe a shirt, my back isn't a welcome sight here.
PostPosted: Fri Jul 24, 2009 7:12 pm

I do not know. I found her because I saw the advertisement and recognised the name asone of the old gods. She didnt smell of Wyrm so I went and we hit an arrangement. She is old, and doesnt tolerate other Cainites around her. I'd guess Independant but... we're right in Sabbat turf here... they run drugs a few blocks over.
Moving at night is never wise...

We have no choice. Iden cannot travel in the day...
You cant now? Oh... the blade...

*Javos scratched at his neck idly, raising the gold band that his his scars, a rough line around his patterned neck where fur would not grow*

We'll just have ot chance it. We'll follow you.

Remind me to send her some cash to apologize for stealing her act.

Whether or not he was serious was difficult to say. Instead, he started skulking for the exit, thus presenting his back to the felines. He was shifting towards a more businesslike mode, where the luxury of thought and feeling was secondary to instinct and the need for survival.

Alright. Keep close, keep low, and don't make a noise. Soon as I get us a car, we're gonna haul a** as fast as the damn thing can take us.
PostPosted: Fri Jul 24, 2009 7:21 pm

*Javos and Alyna followed him, almost belly crawling once out in the night - their restored coats stood out liek beacons where the black of a panther hand blended in. Golden spots descending to creamy fur would not go so unnoticed, so they hugged walls and dashed across open spaces as fast as possible, praying Iden foudn a car quickly.

Chances were, he would. And that it;d belong to a Sabbat dope pusher. Iden's hot wiring skills had beter still be top notch*

If there were druggies nearby, there was a car. Better still, there would likely be weapons nearby as well. One could only hope.

He was subtle, misting into the car and unlocking it for the Ceilicans. Then, he used his fingers and Potence to pry the panelling open and started pulling out wires. It'd take a few minutes as his fingers worked to remember the process, but he could still do it, and do it quietly. He just needed the licks to not walk up the vehicle for the time being.
