^^ xd
I've only heard of bubble tea because there's a store that sells it downtown where I live.
You can also get it with things that are like fruity jello rectangles (but a little more solid than jello; I'm not sure what they're made of) instead of the rice balls.

I just looked it up. Here's what wikipedia says about bubble tea:
"Bubble tea is a mixture of iced or hot sweetened tea, milk, and often other flavorings. The distinctive characteristics of bubble tea are the black gummy balls made of tapioca (or, more commonly in East Asia, yam starch), called "pearls" or "boba" or balls that sit at the bottom of the cup. The pearls are larger than those found in tapioca pudding, with a diameter of at least 6 millimeters, but smaller ones are occasionally used. They are generally translucent brown with a darker brown center, although pearls of other colors or 'jelly cubes' have also recently become available."

I've heard of it, seen it, but never tasted it. Somehow those dark balls at the bottom of the cup never looked very appetizing to me.
Sudden change in topic: I've learned a new word. Tis very fun to pronounce. Hippopotomonstrosesquipedalian. Adjective. Pertaining to a very, very long word. 4laugh

It is delicious. Its chewy and sweet. I usually have boba with milk tea or thai tea. Most recently I just started tasting the other varieties like mango shakes with boba and the refreshing syrup mix with gelatin squares in it. Its been quite popular where I live recently although its been out for years.
Hippo-what? Reminds me of a word I tried to sing in an opera last year, but it was an imaginary creature.

@Alutian: Same here. I never thought they looked very appetizing. The jelly rectangles look ok, though.
Interesting word. I sounded it out, but I'm not entirely sure I'm pronouncing it right.

Good. Now practice it some, and eventually you might be able to chant it at high speed, much to the annoyance/confusion/amusement of family and friends. wink
