About the time she hit "once" Iden's fist made contact with her chin. He hadn't been kidding, and he hadn't any patience when he was being actively hunted. The first punch was followed by a second, thrown at her temple. It was the knockout punch, a clean blow with Potence adding enough kick to drub her senseless.

I warned you...b***h. You had better be worth it...

If that wasn't enough to clock her senseless, he'd follow up as necessary. The key here was just to make certain she stayed out until he found a good place to hole up and start with the questions.

A fireman's carry was perhaps too good for her, but he did it anyways. It was fast, convenient, and let him start making distance again. He stuck off the main roads, and hauled a**...he needed to move, and move quickly.

What made the city good for them was now ideal for him. Finding a hiding spot was not hard. The marketplace was ideal for him to lose the tainted Ceilicans, but more important, the second story of an old lean-to in the shanty town made a perfect hiding spot. It took a brief period of time to light-proof it from scavenged materials, but he entered only when he was certain it was safe. That was enough for him. It would buy a day or two.

Now, with the woman bound, he waited with her head cradled in his lap. It was not affection that held his arms folded over her form. It was ruthless efficiency; if she awoke and was hostile, he'd have an instant chokehold.

Once again, she was preempted. Iden had expected her to react violently, it was why he was positioned as he was. So when she began thrashing, his arms wrapped about her neck and squeezed. It wasn't to choke her, though. That alone wouldn't do it, he knew. It was to hold her still as his fangs sunk in just above where his wrist lay. He would take as much as he needed to slow her down. With the enzymes pumping and the blood restoring the energy Iden had expended since he had first come to the continent, it would only serve to better his position. Even if she shifted, his grip was a vice, she would not escape.

Damn...overdid it.

He had taken more than he'd thought, and felt the corruption leeching into his mind. It couldn't take hold, but damn if it could be annoying. He sighed, and withdrew from her neck.

Ready to play nice? Cooperate and maybe I'll make it up to you. Fight, and I can make this as hellish as you can imagine.

As for the Wyrm....its voice went unanswered. He did not relish the thought of such a thing in his head.

Why? Because you ******** stole my mind once. It's not an offense I forgive. And I don't dance.

His arm tightened, choking hard. It lasted for a few moments, before he released.

Now...lets try again. I don't want to be a jerk here. I'm after Javos, you're after Javos, and neither of us is going to find him if you don't help me.

He eased off his grip, giving her a little breathing space. He was certain she couldn't fight him off, and if she resisted...well, it would be the same old drill.

Alright.

Iden nodded, accepting her words. Then, in a flash, his thumb was mashed against her throat, constricting her windpipe. Meanwhile, he was fetching something with his free hand...a shard of sheet metal. He let it pass in front of her eye, before he held it in his fist, poised to blind her by gouging both eyes out.

I've been locked up, chained up, and given enough misery to know what I'm doin' here, babe. And you are making it my personal goal to make sure you never see the light of day again, and never know what it is to bask in your master's presence. I will bite you because I choose to, because it strengthens me, and because it gives me pleasure. And you...are forsaken. Or else why would you be here? No sun god to save you if you won't save yourself...

There was only a harsh, predatory tone in his voice. He was not jesting, nor would he bluff. He eased off her windpipe again, and held her close by the neck. She could speak, once she recovered, but her words would judge her fate.

You were forsaken the minute you chose to cross my path. You damned yourself, and now we have an eternity for me to invent new ways of making you the lowest, most debased and pitiful creature known to this earth. And no matter how strong your pack is, no matter how wrathful your wyrm, nothing they do will ever help you if you do not submit. Give me what I am after, or blindness will not be the last of it. You will be released ONLY when I am done. And I will only be done when I have what I came to this place for.

The metal began carving a gash over her brow. He was drawing it closer to her eye, with tantalizing slowness to accent what he was prepared to do. As the improvised tool ran her blood, his tongue passed over it. As twisted as the flavor was, he savored it, just because he knew it would wound her pride.
