You are one of the few then, most people seemed to despise the old storm troopers with their hotshot lasguns and berets

I used to just play one in my command squad as a veteran. Then I moved up and now I have two squad of them. They have laid more hurt down then my Kasrkin squad has. And they have only seen action in 3 games where the Kasrkin have seen about 12.

Here's an intresting question I keep forgetting to ask. Commisars have an ability that makes them execute the leader of a a squad if they fail their leadership test (and it makes the rest of the squad pass automaticly) If I take the doctrine "Independent Commisars" and attach one to a conscript squad, does that ability still take effect? there dosn't apear to be any leader of a conscipt squad so does the commisar just take command automaticly? (giving the squad LD 10)

Which GW Store are you using? I get the Kasyrkin chaps and some Eldar, then Praetorians, and then SOME Bomb Disposal Squaddies in the form of special/assault weapons and their lieutenants.
There's nothing on the Classic and Collector's of the Imperial Guard section neither.

I wonder why it didn't show up when I searched for Storm Trooper then.

-Mykal It's probably because you were looking on the English site, rather than the American one where he linked it from. For a couple of good pictures of the plastic ones, look here: http://minivault.com/images/DSC01876.JPGhttp://minivault.com/images/DSC01877.JPGI really like the metal ones, but I don't like the plastic ones so much.

The Krieg Senior Officer and his squad are absolutely beautiful, in my opinion, and I've already pre-ordered them. And now that I have my Thudd Guns rather than to have to get Sisters to fill in the remainder of my points, I had to cut some stuff out to cram it all in there!
And something that I'd like to point out is that there are now nine completely unique different types of Imperial Guard, as opposed to most armies which only have one line of models. That's rather impressive, and now we're getting more? Something I think would be interesting is if you look back at the 3rd Edition IG Codex, they had soldiers from Paladius, which was a medieval world, and also the Desert Foxes and Nordian Beserkers interest me. Space Vikings ahoy! One thing I don't like about the new codex is it seems to me like it's Codex: Cadians + other regiments.

Well it is really. Codex Vanilla, and then you add your doctrines to get the specifics. Cadians are just the basic mass-produced model, but they don't have to be from Cadia in your army fluff.

You need to remember that each Codex centres around one army as a focus (Cadians, Ultra Marines, T'au, Black Legion, etc.) for the material. While I've heard plenty of people complain about the whole compressing things into one book deal, it actually works and most people are creative enough to create their own regiment and get it to work.
All in all, I'd personally be happier if GW or FW spent some time revising some of the old Guard mini lines first before plunging into a new project. Valhallans are very popular so plastics would do them great justice. FW should consolidate on their old projects first before going ahead with the new stuff, as we're still waiting for the Valkyrie airborne assault carrier!
All in all, GW and FW have churned out eleven regiments:
- Cadians - Catachans - Valhallans - Mordians - Praetorians - Armageddon - Vostroyans - Krieg - Elysians - Tallarn - Tanith (an iffy point, as only ten models were released for this line, a waste!)

Hmmmm.. I would be interested to see GW expand on the Tanith a bit. Maybe put in the Verghasts with them. Would be nifty, eh? rolleyes
