In olden times, when someone died on a ship, sailors wold place the body into a small boat and push it out to see. It was like a sea burial. That's what happened to the Hero. After he used the catastrophic power of the Rune of Punishment, everyone believed he was dead. The reason why he isn't dead is because the rune "forgave" him with the power of the 108 Stars of Destiny.

That might make sense. But wouldn't someone on the boat now that if you were turly dead he would have just turned into a pile of ashes? Snowe at least knew.

The Death of Soma Plus, they're suppose to shoot flaming arrows into the boat. Ooh...I never knew that. And Chiriku, I don't think that everyone knew that. Snowe was in shock when he saw that Commander Glenn disappeared into ashes. He wanted to save his own butt so he blamed it on the Hero. When all of the previous bearers died, they weren't around people when it happened. And the next bearer would soon pass away anyway. Though, I would think that since the Queen of Obel used the power of the rune in front of the whole Obel fleet and her family would know. Though, it may have been forgotten over the course of fifteen years at least.

Prirats set adrift the dead on a small boat rapt in cloth. Or take them back to there home land for a dirt nap.

It took me a little while to figure out how to make the boat go though. I'm one of those people who absolutely refused to read the manual. I like how they got Jeane more involved in the game.

zaku41k Jeane...heh. Remember how that old man wanted to wash her back? and Jeane told him to keep his distance? *snickers* I think Jeane could be one of the most deadlist people in the game since no one can get close to her. Well, in a since that no one can figure her out. I wonder if Konami will eventually tell us what Jeane really is. I don't think she's any oridinary human, but of course I could be stating the obivious.

Geez, that stupid boat system 'bout drove me crazy. It was like 'go faster you stupid little boat!' I think the game designers just wanted to mess with us on this one. I think they could have done a little bit better with the hero. He was kinda scary lookin'.

I didn't realize you could speed anything up until my second play through and I used a guide to get all the stars of destiny (I liked killing Snowe)

Didn't Vikings also drift the dead into the sea with arms folded and their sword in hands, (copied in Lord of the Rings)
