Alyssa smiled as she ate and looked at him when he asked her what was wrong. "I...I'm just scared about going back to school. My sister and dad aren't nice enough to just let me go" she said.

Michael listened as Alyssa spoke. He reached over and gently took her hand. "I won't let them do anything to you. If they bother you in school, come get me." He told her. He wasn't going to let anyone bother her. She deserved to be happy.

Alyssa held his hand and nodded. "Okay" she said. She really wished she could just stay by his side all the time but she knew she couldn't do that. "I really need to learn to defend myself" she said more to herself although she wasn't completely healed yet.

"You'll learn eventually. For now though I'll be there to protect you. If need be we can go to the office and let then know that you don't want you stepsister or stepfather around you. Hell you probably Could get your step father arrested for what he's done to you." MMichael said as he gently squeezed Alyssa's hand.

Alyssa nodded when he said he would protect her. She listened as he talked about getting him arrested and talking to the office. "I don't know. I think he has friends in the police department. If I said anything he would just come after me even more" she said. He always warned her if she tried they wouldn't do anything and that she had no where to go.

Michael listened then scratched his chin. "That makes it a little difficult." He said then sighed. He reached over and took Alyssa's hand in his. "For now we'll figure something out." He told her. What could they do though? What would keep her step-father away? He shook his head slightly. No. Can't think like that. We'll figure something out.

Alyssa held his hand and watched as he tried to think of what they could do. "Yeah it does...maybe getting you involved was a bad idea" she said looking down at the table.

"It wasn't. I would've gotten involved sooner or later." Michael told Alyssa as he gently squeezed her hand. He then leaned over the table and kissed her deeply. "I'm glad I got involved." He said softly then kissed her again.

Alyssa looked up when he squeezed her hand. She wasn't sure about that but she just nodded. She blushed but smiled kissing him back. "Why?" She asked kissing him back blushing noticing some people in the restaurant looking their way.

"Because I get to see that beautiful smile of yours. And knowing I can help bring that smile out makes it all worth it to me." Michael told Alyssa as he sat back in his seat when he noticed people looking over at them. He smiled softly at her and blushed, hoping he wasn't embarrassing her.

Alyssa blushed even brighter hearing his words. "Well I'm happy to have met you. Life has been so much better for me since I have. I'm sure we'll think of something" she said and smiled trying to be positive.

"I know we will." Michael said and smiled brightly. He would protect Alyssa no matter when. Especially if he was able to see her smile more. He was determined to stay positive for both of them then laughed softly. "You know we could get married. That way he wouldn't be able do anything."

Alyssa looked at him surprised. "Married?" She asked. She couldn't tell if he was joking or not. "I don't think your family would be okay with us getting married and we've only been together for a day" she said.

"I couldn't care less what my parents think, but I was only joking. I didn't mean to surprise you like that." Michael said and smiled slightly. He was joking with her, hoping to get her to laugh or smile. He didn't mean to surprise her like he did.
