[Moriath - Group B, tag Group B, tag golds/wingleaders]

After what felt like an eternity Moriath pushed out of the jungle and stepped into the clearing. She wanted very much to snort away the insects buzzing around her face, but announcing her presence like that would do no good. Moriath sent to the little party. On hearing Asoth's report she flared her nostrils, trying to catch a useful scent again. the male really was being useful tonight.

the crimson continued. She wasn't sure, it was so dark that every shadow seemed to shift into the shape of an enemy.

Time to report progress to her gold sisters and the other wingleaders what was going on. Ideally she would like to include greens and crimsons as well - sensible clever dragons ought to be kept informed - but she was forced to accept that there were just too many, and she didn't know them all to target their minds individually in any case. she reported swiftly, She could feel Kleos running, a sense of urgency.... So they had discerned which way the tunnelsnake had gone.

[Brumath - Group A, snake tracking]

the brown commented as he landed outside a likely looking cave.

Nothing in the cave. Brumath snorted and backed out; there wasn't room for him to turn around.

[F'itz - Group C]

For the man currently under his hands... he honestly wasn't sure that Brumath was right. Barely any breath stirred his chest, he had been half crushed by something and....

The brownrider took the man's hand and squeezed it. It was too late to do anything but offer comfort. For a moment he thought he felt the man squeeze his hand in return, but then there was nothing but limp stillness. The pulse was gone.

Taking a deep breath F'itz folded the man's hands over his ruined chest and stepped back. Perhaps he could be of more help to the next victim.

[Berath the bus dragon - Group A]

Berath rumbled to her bondmate.

Berath sent a feeling of acknowledgement and swung her huge head around to look from one woman to the other. she instructed, lying down so that they could climb up onto her back.

Asoth
tag Moriath

Asoth positively glowed with happiness at the praise from the Crimson Wingleader, Oh yes, he'd shown them, Asoth was the best! of course he was, even without showing off, Asoth was at least proving his worth by focusing for once. If M'lan could see his dragon he would be pleased with the brown.

Asoth gave the impression of a nod to Moriath, crouching low and moving slowly, he too saw shadows that danced and moved but he caught no scent from them so had dismissed them, a more timid dragon might have shied at their eyes playing tricks on them in the darkness but he was ASOTH.. the best brown ever (or so he thought) "Of course Moriath..... it is hard not to make our own tracks though" he admitted

[Kleos - Group A]

With the tunnelsnake's direction determined small search parties split off to comb the caves. Kleos ran, a steady mid distance pace that she could keep up for a while and still have energy to act when they found the tunnelsnake. If they did. She was feeling a little desperate after searching a couple of caves herself, but as she excited yet another empty one she heard a call from not far off and sprinted to find who had spoken.

"In here?" she called, skidding to a halt beside the candidate.

-----------------

[Moriath - Tag group A, tag golds and wingleaders]

Moriath called swiftly to those she had seen around Kleos through her rider's own eyes, and also to the golds and wingleaders once more. she sent an image,

Narisa and Cepheith
[Tag Kindra, Plexith, Moriath, etc ]

The injured are coming. Cepheith warned Hers and those around her.

Narisa felt her gut clench, and swallowed, looking over at Kindra with a similar expression. "I... okay." She nodded, taking a breath. "You're right. I'll help as well." Even if she wasn't anywhere near as knowledgeable as a Healer. Mention of Abigail had Narisa looking over her shoulder to her Weyrwoman. "Honestly... I'm afraid to move her or touch her." She said softly to Kindra, running a hand through her hair. Her blue eyes went to some of the Bronzeriders still nearby. "I want you rider's to stay by Weyrwoman Abigail. Keep her safe."

With another glance towards Kindra, Narisa moved towards the injured. And found herself with supporting a woman bleeding heavily. "Shaffit. H-Hold on." That was... a lot of blood. Within seconds her own clothes were staining red. "You're going to be alright. Do you hear me? I'm Goldrider Narisa. I've got you." She said in a slightly shaky voice, finding a clear patch to help her lay flat. The woman cried out and Narisa's heart squeezed, tripling in rate. She looked all around, finally grabbing a ripped section of table cloth to press firmly to the bleeding wound. "I need bandages!" She shouted to anyone that could assist her.

I am glad to hear the fires are out. Tell yours to stay safe. Cepheith replied to Plexith, with a tinge of relief in her tones. Though it quickly vanished as Moriath reported in. Another dragon? The Gold's eyes turned crimson. Proceed with caution, sister. If possible, discover who this... dragon is. She snarled, adding Asoth into the conversation. The injured are coming in. Suunath's and mine are helping to tend to them. All else is silent here. Meaning no felines had come back.

[Rochelle and Alina, tag Berath!]

The woman with the apprentice looked... rather familiar. Rochelle eyed her when she approached and passed the child to another person, a master as well. The fluffy hair, the glasses, the little 'heh' when someone said something to her. Rochelle couldn't quite place it, frowning until Berath stared at them.

"I'm coming! Do you know where Carltis is?" Rochelle jogged to the dragon, patting at her hide before trying to climb up. "He got snarly and stormed off to find people and I haven't seen him since."

Alina, though, shook her head. "Sorry, Berath. I'm staying here. You crazy kids can go off and have your tunnelsnake adventures but there's stuff to do here. Like not fight tunnelsnakes."

"Who are you?"

"... uh." Alina blinked at her, owlish behind the soot-coated glasses. "Alina. Hi. Have fun with your tunnelsnakes and Berath, tell him I'm fine?"

"Wait. Alina? Hey!" Too late. The starcrafter had already scooted back and into the crowds to assist people.

[Carltis]

"I'm right here," said a rather soggy Carltis. "I was having a drink and washing the soot out of my eyes, seemed to be the in thing," he drawled, turning to watch the tall slim woman vanish. "Anyway," he turned back to Rochelle and the big green dragon. "We getting a lift? Great, then let's go." Without further ado he clambered up onto the powerful dragon's back and offered a hand down for Rochelle to haul herself up by quickly.

[Berath]

Berath urged as the muscular boy clambered up.

[Rochelle, tag Carltis and Berath]

"You look like a drowned wherrie. I think that was, oh, nevermind." She looked back to where Alina disappeared ad grabbed a hold of Carltis' hand. She scrambled up with his help and settled in behind, arms latching around his waist in a death vice.

"We're on, Berath!"

-----

[Siata, tag everyone in the tunnelsnake vicinity

"Siask, down." The order came as soon as she heard Moriaths announcement, all confusion with the previous woman gone. The wher rumbled and laid down on his stomach, wings flattened as well as they could be for his handler to swing herself onto his back.

Siata imagined they looked rather odd like that but when it came down to it, whers ran faster than humans and climbed better than them too. With not many people there and in a cave... not being late was awesome. Siask ran, head down and avoiding what other life he could, more at home in the darkness than he could be anywhere else. She dismounted once they reached what they'd seen and Siask could scent the human he knew.

And Moriath, in all her Moriathness, was sent the knowledge of here from the wher.

"You might have to stay out here, baby. If the tunnelsnake tries to get out or something not one of us tries to get in, you eat them." She rubbed at his neck. Siask rumbled in discontent, eyeing up the cave. he did not like this. "I know. But what if it's too small in there? You can't get out. Defend us from out here unless one of the wingleaders says otherwise. On that note... hey guys."

[Moriath - Tag group B, wingleaders and golds]

With her rider's message passed on Moriath turned to Asoth and the rest of the group, nodding her acknowledgement.
she went on to Cepheith, stalking forward carefully. As she moved onward she kept her eyes fixed on the point she thought had looked peculiar... and yes, yes it was.

<Stop!> she ordered her group almost harshly. she sent urgently, including her party, and once again the golds and wingleaders. What ought they to do?... Well they couldn't just stay where they were; every moment they waited was one they could be spotted! the crimson projected her line of sight to her fellows, mentally highlighting the barely visible camp.

(The camp has been found!)

Freia and Freiask (Group A)

They just started into a cave when another in the group called out, having found the cave. Giving Freiask a pat on the shoulder, the gold wher settled down for Freia to climb on her back. She gave a quick run and jump and started to glide over to the cave entrance. There was a group starting to head down, with another wher in the lead. Huffing in annoyance, Freiask started shoving others out of the way. "Move out of the way! She does not like being in the back or middle. Please." Freia raised her voice so they knew the gold wher was working her way down the tunnel with little care of people.

[Berath - Tag snake group]

With her passengers aboard Berath lumbered towards the water, soon enough finding the cave Moriath had shown her, and outside it quite a gathering of humans and whers. the green suggested to her companions, stooping to allow Carltis and Rochelle to dismount. Muscles rippled in the dragon's scarred hide, and she rumbled deep in her chest.

----------

[Carltis - tag snake group]

"Ha!" Carltis grinned, shifting so that he could grip the huge thick neck with his legs. "I can see everything from up here!" The chunky dragon's lumbering jog wasn't the most comfortable thing ever, but it could have been much worse and it got them where they were going quickly.

When Berath stopped and stooped Carltis slid to the ground, shaking his head as her voice arrived in it. "Not arguing about a brick wall," he said after a moment. "If you can draw it's attention - you, any other dragons, and whers - that has to be a good thing right? I'm not enough of a stupid tit to pretend I'm as tough as one of you beasts."

Cai

Cai's hands fell still. It was done. Without proper healers and equipment a man had died. She sat back on her heals and watched as F'itz respectfully folded the dead man's hands over his chest. "Thank you." It wasn't often she could really say that and mean it but F'itz had done as she'd asked without question and had she been an adequate healer that might have been enough. As is without supplied this man may not be the last life lost this evening.

As much as she despised the silverrider being honored she felt a tiny thread of pity for the girl. Seeing her special night ruined normally would have left Cai feeling smug but this was no humiliating party foul or even someone else stealing her spotlight. People were dying, vicious creatures were terrorizing the weyr and from what rumors she could hear spreading... an unknown camp had been discovered somewhere in the jungle.

Cai dragged a tablecloth over the dead man, unable and unwilling to move him aside herself. There were more injured flooding in and where she couldn't save one, she could at least help others. Becka had already left to do so, probably for the best. She was bad enough just seeing the injured man, Cai felt sure the girl would have had a breakdown if she'd watched him die. Cai claimed the left behind supplies, needles, a spool of thread, and some unused cloth napkins. She could tear tablecloths into bandages and for those less injured, there was wine and liquor for nerves and pain.

The redhead took a half empty water pitcher and splashed her hands, washing the worst of the dried blood on them before wiping them off on her pants. They were already soaked from the knees down in blood, her limited marks gone before she could even get some decent use out of them.

Z'fer

"I'll keep an eye on her." Z'fer volunteered. The women would be better at tending the injured than he would with only one good arm at the moment. Calanoth keep an eye out for strangers entering. Have the other dragons on alert as well. If there's a camp out there then I don't trust anyone. I don't care if you have to get invasive about it. Check Everyone.

~ See what Cepheith's thinks of the camp as well. See if there's a trader caravan due. ~ He added as an afterthought.

Calanoth rumbled, his eyes whirling orange as he carefully brushed each mind as they brought wounded past him. To the dragons that remained on guard he passed on Z'fer's orders. ~ Be on the look out for anyone you don't recognize, injured or not. As you may have heard a camp has been discovered and mine wants everyone on full alert. ~

~ Cepheith, does yours know of a trader caravan due soon? ~

Narisa and Cepheith
[Tag Moriath, Calanoth, Asoth]

The Gold focused intently on what Moriath passed on. A camp? Why was their a camp out there? Her crimson eyes gazed out in the general direction she felt Moriath was, tail lashing behind her. A camp? Cepheith's lips peeled back in a snarl, the already dug up earth getting another crevice left as she dug in her talons. However she did lean slightly against Suunath for comfort. She did not like what she was shown. And it aggravated Cepheith that it had been set up without their knowledge! And if they were the cause of all this...

Cepheith! Keep your anger in check! Narisa said firmly, with a slight bit of fear as she tied off a bandage, hands shaking.

Do not worry, darling. I will not leave. But we cannot let this go unattended!

I know. Tell Moriath to try and capture the human, if she can. But I don't want any dragon fights! Narisa was even paler now, having her hands covered in blood and a good portion of the dress she'd worn. Now they had discovered an unidentified camp hidden away? And a man with a dragon's scent all around? What did it mean?

Cepheith passed on what her rider wanted, listening to Calanoth and relaying the question to Hers. Mine, breathe. Keep your head. When was the next caravan expected?

When? Faranth she didn't know! Narisa closed her eyes and tried to focus her thoughts. They had recently gotten one not that long ago, she thought. So... there shouldn't be one here yet. And definitely not a single one camping out without having made their presence known! No, it was to coincidental with everything else that was going on. Never the less, she wanted it checked out. They were not taking any chances.

She is unsure of when the next is scheduled to arrive, but there should not be one there now! Cepheith rumbled to Calanoth, including Moriath and Asoth. However, should it happen to foolish humans that chose poor timing for such a venture, be gentle with them. She added with a huff.
