Trapped. She sighed. "Troy... he won't do much if he thinks my father won't approve. We need to get up there and listen in on them."
Akito bit his lip, knowing Alaric would like it if he screamed. But when the cutting started he couldn't help it. "I was telling the truth! Please stop!" He cried, trying to curl up into a ball and roll away.

Meme nodded. "Okay, I can do that!" He said rather determinedly. "Lets go face whatever is in that forest. But be careful." he said softly, packing up the little picnic and carrying the basket in his arms.

Kuro jumped when he heard Akito's cry for help. That was never a good sign, he knew that cry of desperation. "I'll be right back." he said softly as he jolted up the stairs and got to Alaric's door. He tried to jostle it open but the damn thing was locked. Kuro began to tremble a bit with rage. He took a few steps back and kicked the door open. Deadbolts meant nothing in cheap hotels. Kuro's anger blew through the roof when he saw Akito on Alaric's lap, the King's knife pressed firmly to Akito's neck.
Alaric heard the jostling of the door handle and smirked. "What do you know, the cavalry has arrived. I bet it's that stupid butler Rufus always keeps around." he smirked, grabbing the boy's cut arm and forcing him to sit on his lap, facing the door while Alaric pressed the blade against the boy's throat. "Well well....it is the butler. Glad you could watch the show Kuro." he said softly, running his tongue along Akito's neck teasingly.

Rufus smiled to himself; his new husband was brave and he wanted to protect him. "Let's go." he agreed, leading the way and watching to make sure they were alone.

Don't kick him... he'll kill you... but I don't want Kuro to see me like this! Akito closed his eyes and took a deep breath, tuned out Alaric's voice and kicked Alaric's arm away from his neck, rolling on the floor despite taking the King with him.

Meme followed Rufus toward the wooded area. "You think the others are doing okay? Kuro and Akito?" he asked curiously, hoping the others weren't getting into trouble or anything serious like that. "Maybe we should send a messenger to check on them or something?"

Kuro acted quickly and caught the boy, prying Alaric's hands off of him. He shoved Akito behind him. "Keep your dirty hands off of him. The next time you touch him...I'll kill you myself." he said through gritted teeth, ready to punch the King as it was.
Alaric rolled with the boy, giving a small curse as he was shoved away from Akito. He couldn't help but chuckle a little. "I remember when you were younger...we had a lot of fun together." he said with a small cackle. "You should know death threats to a King is punishable by death." he said softly with a rather twisted grin.Kuro couldn't be any more furious than he already was, and the worst part was that he couldn't do anything about it. He couldn't call the guards because Alaric owned them, and the police wouldn't guard a King from himself if they valued their lives. "SILENCE!" Kuro yelled, his body shaking with anger. "You will have your day of reckoning. Stay away from Akito." Kuro stated as he took his jacket off and placed it on Akito's shoulders, escorting him down the stairs and into a hallway. "Are you okay? Did he hurt you at all?" he asked, looking the boy over but with the coat he couldn't see anything wrong.

"No. You will stay in hiding until I can send a messenger, but remember I'm leaving you once we reach the cottage and I know you're safe." He didn't want to leave Meme, but he wanted to be the barrier between Meme and his father.

Akito tried to stop the bleeding, but he'd been cut badly, Alaric's 'passion' having made him reckless with the knife. He barely heard their conversation, in shock. He'd known Alaric was disgusting and suggestive, but he'd never heard about the violence and gore. Otherwise he'd never have dismissed the advances he was facing.
"I-I can't make it stop..." he whispered, unable to understand why he'd been attacked. He was a servant, but he'd been sheltered by his family and the fact that Alaric hadn't been around. At least when Rufus locked him up he'd understood why. He let the coat slip from him as he stretched out his arms, watching the blood run and shuddering. His legs were in a similar state.
Troy heard the commotion, but he was waiting for permission to go check and King Lionel was listening intently. When he was finally given the nod, he went to Alaric's room and made sure the King wasn't going after Akito.
Once he'd seen Alaric, he looked for Kuro and Akito. When he saw the boy was nude, he looked away, but he couldn't miss the puddle of blood forming around his ankles. He went immediately to his King, knowing Lionel would never allow his daughter to stay in a kingdom where her father-in-law was a monster.

Meme nodded, he assumed Rufus would say something like that. It was all the same to him though, he would much rather not face the King, especially since he knew the man could step on him easily. "Just be careful when you meet him. I'm sure you know your father better than I do but even a father can surprise his son in the worst ways."

Kuro looked at the floor where the blood was starting to pool, luckily the blood was oozing from the wounds instead of gushing but that didn't reduce his panic in the least. "Damnit, hold on Akito. I'm having you taken back to the cottage with Rufus and Meme." he stated, picking the boy up into his arms without a worry about the blood staining his formal white shirt. Kuro ran toward the back of the hotel where the carriage was and laid him on the seat. "You stay in here, I'll join you shortly." it pained Kuro to see Akito like this, if only he had been a few minutes earlier to Alaric's room he could have prevented this. Kuro placed a hand against Akito's cheek for a few brief moments but it seemed like years to Kuro, there was so much he wanted to do, he hated leaving Akito like this but it was for his own good. Kuro placed a gentle kiss against Akito's lips, gentle but deep and longing. "I will see you soon." he stated, closing the carriage door and instructing the driver of where he needed to go before it took off with flying colors.

The carriage had been moving for five minutes or so when Akito registered that Kuro had kissed him... and left him. In a panic, he banged on the wall of the carriage, yelling to turn around. When the driver came to him, he explained in a panic that he had to go back, he didn't want to be alone and Kuro might do something stupid. Despite his better judgement, the driver turned them around: he didn't want the boy passing out and having nightmares.
Troy ran down the stairs, barely giving his beloved a glance as he reached Kuro. "What are you going to do? You can't confront him, he's a King. Come with me instead." he whispered urgently, using his whole body to block Kuro's escape.

Meme nodded and they pressed on for another few hours. He just hoped everything was going smoothly for the other two. They would soon find out.

Kuro was a bit startled by Troy, he didn't expect the man to confront him. "Why should I? You can't do anything more about this situation than I can so what's the point? This isn't the first time Alaric has done this to a young boy. I'll handle it myself." he said softly as he tried to move around the guard but the man just blocked him. "Fine, what do you propose we do?"

Rufus noticed the cottage up ahead, they'd reached it after walking for most of the day. He gently pulled Meme behind a tree. "Stay here and hide. I'll check that no-one's lurking and if you hear me yell, you run for it. Alright? Promise me, Meme. Your safety is what's most important here."

Akito felt sick as the carriage went back the way it'd come, but he had to get to Kuro.
"You are going to take my lady with you whilst King Lionel confronts Alaric. He won't marry his daughter into that kind of a family, and there won't be a war because someone will step forward in support of Lionel - a judge of some kind, I don't know enough about them, but they apparently have the power to declare a forced peace if there are no grounds for war. As you said, King Lionel cannot manage a war."
He started them moving towards the door, where the Princess was waiting.
"Where's your carriage?"

Meme grumbled a little. "Awe come on, how can I help you if you keep telling me to go hide!!??" he asked, starting to get annoyed with always having to hide, it was a cowardly thing to do and while most times he agreed with hiding from danger, he was now wishing he was a little braver.

Kuro gave a soft sigh. "I sent it---" he said, though he stopped short when he heard the sound of horses galloping. Did the carriage come back? "I think it might have returned...." he said softly as he went back to the alley and found the carriage back where it was before. He opened the carriage and saw Akito still hurt. "Why did you have it come back?" he asked the hurt boy softly, placing a gentle hand on Akito's chest to help keep him still.

Troy waited a moment, then broke in before Kuro could answer Akito. "You can explain on the journey; get into the carriage with the Princess and travel home. I will stay to help my King."

Rufus put up a good argument, he was right. "Okay, I'll stay out here in the bushes." he said a bit impatiently. "But you owe me!" he exclaimed as he found a few bushes to hide behind, ready to ambush anyone who was ready to attack them.

Kuro really wanted to go back and knock Alaric out, but he knew the punishment for that. Still...it made it almost bearable. "Okay. You get the Princess, Akito needs help." he said sternly, moving the boy onto his lap a bit sideways so his legs rested on the seat. "Hush. You need your rest. We'll be with the others soon." he said softly, hoping Akito would calm down enough to sleep.

Rufus hid a chuckle as he nodded. He crept forward, trying to see whether or not anyone was around. Once at the cottage door, he went around the outside, looking in the dark windows. The place seemed deserted, so he went in through a window, squeezing in and feeling his way to the front room.
In ten minutes or so, he'd checked everywhere and couldn't see anyone. So he turned on the lights and went outside to get Meme. "Meme?"

Trapped. The Princess came outside and scrambled into the carriage, keeping away from Akito so she wouldn't jostle him. "Is he alright?" she whispered, biting her lip at the sight of the blood beneath his body.
"I'm fine, my lady..." Akito whispered, not opening his eyes. He wrapped himself as close to Kuro as he could get. "Just don't let Kuro leave us. Alaric has dogs and he hates them..." He smiled weakly at his joke, tightening his hold on Kuro.

Meme popped out of his hiding spot and looked around him, he didn't see anyone else except Rufus, which was a good thing. He stood up and walked toward the Prince, clinging tightly to his side. "Is the house clear?" he asked curiously.

Kuro yelled to the carriage driver to drive as fast as he could to the cottage. The driver sped off as fast as it could without throwing the carriage off the road. He held onto Akito for dear life and tried to make him comfortable. The bleeding had slowed down, at least, but he was still worried. Alaric cut him deep.

Rufus held Meme as well, but nodded. "Completely clear, so what we want is to set you up and then I'll eat and leave. I'd rather not make rumours start by being absent too long... though I suppose I could stay until the early morning, if you'd prefer?" he offered, not liking the idea of leaving Meme alone.
Luckily someone had had the thought to stock the cottage with wood, tinned food and that kind of thing.
