A hot toddy might help. If you aren't a drinker, I have a virgin toddy recipe.
1c hot water; 1T lemonjuice; 1T honey
A hot steamy shower can also help the cough so you can sleep, especially if you take deeeeep breaths in the shower till you stop coughing. That can suppress a cough for up to 8 hours. Good luck, hun.

oh dear you are the fourth person i know of with this horrendous cough! There are some teas that are good for this too - Yogi is a brand that has teas for cold season and there is one for soothing your throat, works quite well i hear...
I hope you find some relief soon

Flu incidence is higher than epidemic threshold in the US. Incidence has tripled in the last week in our state. It is considered widespread in most states and 99.6% of positive flu tests that are subtyped [which is basically only the hospitalized cases] are H1N1. It is more severe than the outbreak of May-June this year, but still less severe than regular influenza.
SO.... the regular flu season hasn't started yet... gonk

Gimme a Hot Buttered Rum to make me forget this stupid head cold. Double the rum as Gaia still hasn't figured out the password issue. Surprise - it let me in today. For the first time, there are now threads from others complaining about the same issue. xp *Takes the drink from the waiter and shuffles off to bed.*
