"Maybe Icestar has some other problems on her chest" Autumnpaw mewed. Then, she thought for a moment and gasped "maybe ShadowClan is secretly planning an attack!" She waited a moment and unsheathed her claws then said "of course, we could claw off quite a bit of fur off of them."

Bronzpaw nodded excitedly. "We could claw all of their fur off!" She said with delight. "But maybe its just an assessment for us or something..."

Scarhead nodded to Icestar and followed her. Was I that careless when I was an apprentice? Scarhead wondered. "I wonder where Leopardpelt went." He said to his leader, still doubting himself.

I think your probably right, Bronzepaw. Blizzardpaw said joining thier conversation once more after laughing a little at Autumnpaws excitement.
Though, I wouldn't complain if we got to bash a few heads in a brawl with Shadowclan. He agreed, flicking his tail.

Bronzepaw nodded eagerly. "I'd be out there, flaying ShadowClan!" She glanced at her tail disdainfully. "I hope this doesn't affect fighting.."

"Your tail?" Autumnpaw mewed before looking at Bronzepaw's flat tail. She thought for a moment then said, "we could take on ShadowClan cats without tails and with our eyes closed!" She let out a small laugh, looked at the medicine cat den and then looked back at her denmates. I hope they find Leopardpelt soon...

Bronzepaw nodded. "We could defeat them with our claws sheathed!" She mewed happily, but added, "Though I'm sure it would be lots more fun with them unsheathed." She wrinkled her nose. "I'm sure a Clan that smells like crowfood can't be that good fighters.."
Spicepelt noticed that the other apprentices were talking about ShadowClan, and went over to join them. She mewed, "ShadowClan is one of the best fighters.You want to find weak, go to Twolegplace." She shuderred, remembering a particulary bad battle. "But, it's true, they do smell like crowfood." She added, smiling.

Bronzepaw gaped. "Wow! ShadowClan can fight better than kittypets!"

Icestar could hear the doubt in Scarhead's voice and glanced back at him. She slowed her pace to match his. "Hey, don't beat yourself up over this. It was a mistake, we all understand that. You didn't realize Bronzepaw was that far out into the thunderpath." Then Icestar paused to lift her nose. "I don't smell Leopardpelt anywhere. She must've went out early this morning, because her scent is already gone." she mewed, picking up the pace again.

The Shadowclan chat continued when a thought popped into Blizzardpaw's head. He felt stupid for just thinking of it, but even though it seemed fa fetched, he thought he might as well toss it out there.
You don't suppose that when Leopardpelt left...she was caught by an invading shadowclan warrior, do you?

Spicepelt, not listening, walked back to the middle of camp, listening and looking for the others to come back. Her ears flicked in amusement remembering some of the apprentices comments. Rather understating of ShadowClan. They were great fighters, even more so because she beleived they were heartless.
Bronzepaw sighed. "If she did, my tail's never gonna be better." She shook her head. "But I know what you mean. If a Clan captured the medicine cat, they could use her agiasnt us..or else. If another Clan captured any warriors, they could use it agaisnt us, threatening us that they'd kill her unless we'd give them something."

Autumnpaw thought for a moment then said, "Blizzardpaw, if that's true ThunderClan will need a lot of its members for a battle to get her back!" She let out a smirk and unsheathed her claws. "The perfect chance to show what we apprentices can do" she mewed enthusiastically. "ShadowClan may be fierce but they'd probably run like kits if the whole of ThunderClan came to fight them."

Icestar stopped dead in her tracks. "How dare you say that!" she hissed. "I wanted you to have Bronzepaw as your apprentice the minute she was born. She needs someone like you, who has strength and courage, and loyalty to teach her how to be a warrior!"
