(( Woah...))

Lightface tried to gently pull Minxpaw back into the den, but, discovered she couldn't without either destroying the cobwebs or hurting her. She gave up, and mewing at Minxpaw, "Minxpaw! You have to stay here. You can't go outside, I can tell you're in a lot of pain." She paused, and continued, "Minxpaw, you have to not move!"

Dragoneyes nodded at Lightpaw, noticing the look on her face. She looked over at Hazelpaw. "Well Hazelpaw?" she asked.

The icy wind blew through Dragoneyes's fur, making her shiver. This was one of the colder leafbares.

((What should Smallstar do now... confused ))

((Kei:: What should he do? He should DANCE! XD))

Hazelpaw stared back at Dragoneyes.
I don't know! she thought I don't have a mentor yet...how am I supposed to know?
"Um, no?" she answered quietly, looking down. She really had no idea. But there was some... feeling in her that told her what to do. She looked back up at Dragoneyes with new found confidence. "No, we shouldn't." she said sternly. She shot a quick glance at Lightpaw, then up to the sky.
Mom... is that you? Is it you I feel?

((Kei: Work with me here. Elevated territory could mean that we have a vantage point in countering a preemptive strike. But even elevation or not, trees will be visible... And at leafbare, if the name serves you can tell the distinction of pine trees verses others. -Looks at the map.- But having not read the book, I can't make a sure assumption. I don't wield the knowledge you obtain.))

She snorted at both Smallstar and Lightface, turning a deaf ear to them. Minxpaw couldn't help herself, as her arrogant behavior still remained after the traumatizing event... Although now, she didn't unsheathe her dagger tongue. The wind was alluring and the stingy winds of leafbare tickled her nose. It was an experience Lightface and Smallstar wouldn't understand, since they were blessed with such freedom. While her eyes were now opened to the vast world with a sky she could never touch. "I will not step outside this place." Her voice was a low rasp, hanging with a few indications of irritation, as she took a sharp intake in breath before she laid her head down to inspect the slate color rocks contrasting the bulky clouds fleeing from the sun. Her loins yearned to hunt and explore to satisfy her current troubled state. Forgetting seemed to uproot more sorrows, and frequently questioned her pride... And being chastised for even breathing the crisp outside air, displaced her mood further. Of course, she knew it was because they cared... If she were to run off again, it would worry her clan-members after the Doberman incident. But being told no in such a frugal manner, it is obvious that she wouldn't listen. The only thing that soothed the uncomfortable pressure of the cobwebs as well as her temper was the cool weather. Besides, it was the first time she ever felt cold... Eventually, feeling a bit vexed by the atmosphere of the the den she spoke with difficulty, "Where did you cat's come from? How did you end up here... And why are there different clans?" Of course she was asking to the most knowledgeable. As long as it kept them from breeding worry and kept their minds busy of the complications now occurring in the clanhood, she was happy.

Lightpaw was proud...if that was the right word to describe her emotion, that Hazelpaw answered correctly despite having no mentor. She pittied that fact. How terrible it must be to watch your friends go off and learn the ways of a warrior while you stay behind and wait around for a chance to prove yourself. Especially now. She couldn't imagine what she felt now that Minxpaw joined the clan and also had a mentor before she did. Lightpaw was happy that Minxpaw joined their clan. They had needed her. But she couldn't help but feel it wasn't very fair. Hazelpaw deserved a mentor just as much as any other cat.

She shot her a smile when Minxpaw looked at her. As if to tell her that she was right.

Lightface gave a small mrrow of laughter. "That's a tale of the elders, Minxpaw!" She settled down on her paws. "But, I still know the story...I'll answer your first question first. Where have we come from. Many many moons ago, there were no Clans. Rogues, mainly, who claimed territory. There were many different leaders, and their territories overlapped, and many wars took place. Mainy cats died. Eventually they took a huge war at Fourtreees, and StarClan came down to them. They spoke that they must make Clans, and have boundaries, and they told them the warrior code. four cats spoke up, their names were Thunder, Wind, Shadow, and River. They made their own Clans. StarClan also spoke that there should never be bloodshed on Fourtrees. The cats could at hunting through undergrowth joined Thunder. Fast cats who lived in moors joined Wind. Cats who could swim joined River, and cats who lived in marshy areas joined Shadow. They joined different Clans becase they had different skills." She paused. "Medicine cats were later, when Clans discovered they had no one to heal their wounds." She sighed and licked her paw, feeling a bit more relaxed. "Oh, and it's good you won't step out of this place. Unless you never want to train again."

Smallstar nodded. "Most cats of the forest Clans were descended from these original Clans. Even some of the kittypets that live in the Twolegplace are descendants of cats who left the Clans. And you already know that all cats are descended from the great cats that once walked this land: Tigers, lions, and Leopards. and we have many more legends from their three Clans." He sighed sadly. "This land used to be much larger before the Twolegs moved in and destroyed much of the land, but that was long before our time."

Minxpaw took the perspective of Smallstar's words, 'To be taken from your environment, stripped from your knowledge and tossed into the world unknown.' She couldn't help but to feel a bit of relation to the ancient ancestors of this land... Of course, she had no negative sentiments for two-leggers either. They of course needed a place to stay and bear their own young, the right bestowed to all life. Neither could blame one another of the encroachment of land, and knowing the true potential of two-legger's compassion... Was nothing but mistaken, severed by the difference in demeanor and under the thumb of survival. However, she had no heart to tell Smallstar this, for it was wrong to do so. There were so many perspectives to this twolegger/cat relation, she would let it rot rather then try to consume it whole.
She batted her eyes a few times as Lightpaw caught her eye for a moment and heaved a sigh. 'Lucky.'
She then glanced over to Lightface, still a little confused, "So... There are five clans? But where do they live? Or did they go back up? How did they come down? From the sky?" She felt a little bit more curious now, seeing how these cats were far more barbaric back then they were now. Her eyes now trailed up towards the light blue sky and huffed at the sudden change of topics, "Well... It'll be nice if I can move before I can make that decision." She mewled, statuesque ever since she had got to the mouth of the den.

"There are four living Clans: ThunderClan, who lives in the woods to the south of us; RiverClan, who lives in the grassland southwest of us and mostly eats fish; ShadowClan, who lives in the marshes to the southeast of us; and of coarse WindClan, and we control the moor. The fifth Clan, StarClan is the Clan of the spirits of our ancestors who now hunt in the stars." Smallstar sat next to Minxpaw.

Lightface continued. "Nobody quite knows where StarClan walk, but, at night the many stars in the sky-Silverpelt, show all the spirits of StarClan." She paused. "Mainly leaders and medicine cats have dreams from StarClan, and medicine cats go to the Moonstone every half-moon so they can have a dream with StarClan." She glanced at Smallstar. "Before they get their leader name, every leadr also has to go to the moonstone to get nine lives." She sighed. "When cats die, we bury them, and they go to StarClan. Or rather, thier spirits do..." Her whiskers twitched in amusement. "You'll be able to move soon, Minxpaw." She meowed, "And the Clans have different reputations. ShadowClan seems the most vicious, ThunderClan seem the best, RiverClan seems the most well fed, and WindClan...." She let her ears go flat. "Seems the weakest. Though, we all know it's not true.

Minxpaw merely blinked, as her head tilted at the sound of some fairytale. "You're kidding," She spoke with a raspy undertone. It was truthful that she couldn't believe it. Seeing the sky for the first time, it was almost unbelievable in the powers it contained. The philosophy of the wild disapproved that method. Staying alive until you bore your replacements, were the religion... This was different. She looked to Smallstar, seeing if he had anything to refute... When no answer came, she cocked an ear in perplexion, "So... You can die nine times? Which life are you on now?" She spoke to Smallstar, taking Lighface's words all the more literally. Afterwards, her ears reeled back, absorbing Lightface's words, 'So in a nutshell... ShadowClan was ruthless, ThunderClan were egotistical, RiverClan were just gluttonous and StarClan was filled with dead cats... Great.' It was safe to say in the WindClan perspective that they were the most compassionate since they bear no name of superiority but the downside, without a sense of pride. She then paused, "I don't originate here..." Shuffling a bit, she found a small pebble on the ground and began to fidget with it. "Would I be able to go to StarClan too?" Did she had to be morally fit to ascend into StarClan? Or... Were all cats, even the traitors and the cannibals allowed to join? Did larger cat's fit into StarClan as well? Her brain started to ache with all the possibilities, her mouth too exhausted to speak them all.

Lightface mewed, "You will. You are in a Clan, with a Clan name. You will go into StarClan just as Smallstar and I will." She purred at Minxpaw's remark. "Of course, but each Clan has its good qualities. RiverClan may almost never be hungry, but, there are terrible at hunting anything other than fish. ThunderClan may be thought of as the best, but, ThunderClan has lost as many battles as WindClan. ShadowClan isn't all ruthless, most warriors are really quite friendly at Gatherings." She paused. "Of course, Smallstar can die nine times, but...some wounds are so serious that even StarClan can not heal them." She shuddered. "It's always terrible when a leader loses a life..."
PostPosted: Mon Feb 25, 2008 6:14 pm

Smallstar nodded. "Cats who live in to the warrior code will go to StarClan. Bloodline does not decide what is in a cat's heart." He continued on. "When you first hear nine lives it seams like you could live forever, but truthfully if a leader is careless, he will lose his nine lives faster than a warrior loses his one life."

Lightface nodded. "When I was an apprentice, the elder's spoke of a leader. I can't remember his name, but, they said he lived for a moonhigh before he had used his whole nine lives." She paused. "He would go right into a enemy camp by himself, or hunt on another Clan's territory by himself. Even when he had but one life yet, he still wasted it away as he did his 8 others. He was a careless leader, and almost none of his Clan saw him, because he was out trying to attack other Clans." She sighed. "I think I was a kit when he was leader..." She mumured. "Nobody saw him, he was always too busy to stop by camp, or even bring back the prey he had caught. Stolen prey, at that. He left it on the ground, reeking with WindClan. Thank StarClan nobody attacked us."
