But who wants a boring special character who's pretty much a normal character? I don't... I'd gladly pay 3-400 points knowing I'll get a badass character even if he's an epic-fail guy on the table.
Special Characters are special because they are better, and they're not cheap on that point... Just look at Ghazkull, he's mighty 225 points for orks, and he's WAY better than a normal Warboss, better stats, rules and all.
And define what's balanced then, I don't seem to have gotten that point in the first place... >_o
He's easier to kill than my bikernobz...

Blackened Heart Sucubi Shinobi_8745 4+ inv isn't that overpowered you know... i know this... but with everything else im trying to help him cut down his points cost and make it more balanced.... Well then why are things getting hostile in here? Anyway, just because you give someone a mark doesn't mean they have to be dedicated to that god, just make it 'counts as'.

Blackened Heart Sucubi Lt. Brookman They don't ban here, they just warn you and keep an eye on you. I banned someone here once when I was a mod, but I did that because he went really far with insulting someone. And Scurr: don't regret it, just ignore. so you sent it to 'those' mods... Welcome to Communism, where they tell you what you can and cant say and where they censor media.... Bahahahaha, ******** you remind me of the guy who I banned. Classic. No, I just reported you to the guild mods.

A Dark Apostle might be better as a support / command character. Why not allow him to convey a special ability to units within 6" of him? Say rerolling failed morale tests and the such?

I've been to Hell and back again, confronted Lucifer. And stared right through his eyes I chose a side
Hmm... I can't believe I actually read all of that hatred. I think I'll return to helping with the character.
Lords, at the start, have a 3+/5+ Giving them Terminator armor only increases the armor save to a 2+, it does not increase the invulnerable save. It also lets them move and shoot. The special character does not have to be dedicated to Tzeentch to use the cost of the Tzeentch Mark as a base for the additional point in the invulnerable save. The weapon should honestly follow the rules found in the 4th edition codex. Use the point value from that. Melta Bombs just seem unnecessary and don't fit the character you seem to have. The point value should really be up by at least 30 points.
That is my advice for your character if you want to keep him how he is. Otherwise, listen to Brookman: He has good ideas.
The end of Jesus Christ, how pathetic, And the flames are shooting out, Revenge of the devil

Oh I'm the one pissing people off for suggesting easy ways to get point costs better? XD Oh jeebus... = w =;;;
Brooky: Well that's an option yes, much like they were back in 3rd ed chaos codex with the Demagouge ability.

Now back in the last edition of the codex, yes, taking a mark would change what your allowed to use, but not anymore.
