Tsuko nodded as she crouched, placing her left arm positioned a couple of inches beneath her right arm, her hands were vertical.

Benjiro blinked. "Is that your regular fighting stance?" he asked curiously. "I'm not used to seeing someone position their hands like that. Does it help?"

"Unlike a regular fighting stance, I find that this one maximzes my ability to defend and counterattack," Tsuko said, not moving.

"But your offense is reliant on counterattacks." Benjiro took a step in and swung his fist in a back hand towards Tsuko's shoulder

Tsuko 'swatted' the hand away and countered with a horizontal 'chopping' motion into the shouler joint.

Benjiro slid forwards from the counter and brought his other arm underneath his first one to block the strike.

This time Tsuko did a vertical 'chopping' motion against the arm Benjiro blocked her previous attack with.

He stepped back to avoid the blow completely. "Okay, so at this range you're pretty good at that. But what about straight attacks?" He threw a left handed punch directly at her chest.

Tsuko grabbed the puch with both hands, twisted a little to the left for a bit of mementum then followed up with a blow aimed at his side with her right leg.

Benjiro brought his other hand down and blocked the kick bluntly.

Tsuko brought her leg down, slid it undernethe his legs, released her grip with one arm and began to spin counter-clockwise, aiming a sharp jab with her elbow at his jaw.

Benjiro let himself be clocked but he really was able to withstand it easily. He was going much slower than he could have been even though close combat wasn't his specialty. He rolled into the blow, moving at the same pace and twisting to perform a kick into her side.

Tsuko cushioned the blow with an arm and used her momentum to spring-vault backwards.

Tsuko took a deep breath getting into another fighting stance. "Exhilirated," she said solidifying her stance. She was crouching even lower this time, leaning more towards the front, her left arm behind her diagonally and her right arm in front with her right hand vertical once more.
