With a wide yawn, Avery walked into the cafeteria. It was around the afternoon, but he had only just woken up not long ago - which isn't really unusual for the dog boy at all. He padded over to the food, getting himself a plate of chicken wings and bypassing the vegetables. He took his plate and plopped down at the nearest table one he saw that no one else was there to sit with at the moment.

Chubbs too had awoken from a long slumber, shuffling his way into the cafeteria to be assaulted by delicious smells. He had on his cap, his black cargo shorts and his black " Rogues do it from behind" shirt on that was a little tighter than usual, but not too bad. With a yawn that amost was partly a roar, He sniffed his way towards the food. He noticed he wasn't the only one, someone that looked vaguely familiar. Chubbs just gave a wave and headed over to the food where he grabbed a couple rare steaks, a couple of mutton joints and a coke and made his way over to the only person there.

" Mind some big tall and fuzzy company or is sod off the next words I'm about to hear?"

Avery looked up when he saw someone else enter the cafeteria - and again was startled at the man's appearance. He remembered seeing him once before, but he wasn't sure if he ever got his name. He watched him get some food and make his way over to the table Avery was sitting at.

"What? Oh, no - you can sit down! I don't mind," he said, offering the other man a smile. "Errr... I think we met before, but I don't think we exchanged names? I'm Avery."

Chubbs smiled his gruesome smile and sat himself down opposite Avery, putting his food down and licking his lips at it. The food was coocked how he liked it, at least, now liked it.

" Oh wait, the one with Colche right? I sorta remember ya now... Umm sorry I didn't end up visiting, bit rude of me. Names Chubbs by the way"

He picked up a steak in his claws and latched his teeth into it, ripping nearly half of it away as he pulled it all into his mouth and chewed eagerly.

"Yeah, that's me... I'm a bit different looking now, I guess," Avery said, trying not to be too grossed out at the gruesome way Chubbs was tearing into his steak. "That's alright, I've been a bit preoccupied lately anyway," he said with a shrug, picking up one of the chicken wings from his plate and taking a bite.

"So have have you been?"

Chubbs looked up at Avery, watching him eat and looked down at hiself eating. He put his steak down and chewed up what he had in his mouth before talking again.

" Sorry mate, just um... I get hungry and.. hard to control."

Chubbs picked up the steak again and tore off a little chunk this time, chewing it in the side of his mouth.

" Pre occupied huh? the change or other things? As for me... umm... I'm sorta okay.. the whole attack and me waking up in the jungle and the changes, it's not been good"

"Oh, it's ok! Don't worry about it," Avery waved his hand in a dismissive gesture. "Yeah... the change and other things, you could say," he nodded, taking another bite of his chicken. "You woke up in the jungle, huh? How come? Has there been any update with that whole attack thing? I've been trying not to worry about it, really... there's nothing I could do... I'm just hoping the person who did it gets caught, so the innocent people don't have to get punished for it..."

Chubbs took another bite and before he knew it, the steak was all gone, he licked at his paw and fingers and looked at Avery as he brushed off his question.

" Yeah, naked, covered in blood and nod remembering the last 3 days of my life. I swear I had done it, but looks like that rampaging loon Zach's the one responsible"

Chubbs peeled off a bit of mutton and chewed on it queietly, studying Avery closely.

" I know ya don't know me well, but sure somethings not up? Sometimes the best listeners are people ya don't know?"

"Zach!? Damn, I knew it... I knew he was crazy, he's attacked me twice!" Avery said. "Well maybe now they won't just let him... wander freely, or whatever." He shook his head, and almost said, they shouldn't let the violent animals loose, but he held his tongue when he glanced at Chubbs again.

Maybe it just depended on the person, then, because this guy didn't seem all bad at all.

"Huh? Oh, no," the dog boy smiled brightly, his tail wagging behind him, "everything's fine. Great, actually. I mean, even though I'm turning into a dog, or something... I've found happiness here."

Chubbs blinked and shook his head, that well bllody confirmed it, Zach was attacking people so many times now.

" Crazy a** b*****d, Ya know I found him goin after Colche one time and Amaya?.. He was lucky they zapped me when I went for him the first time, I might ripped him in half"

Chubbs picked at his meal some more and couldn't help but snicker as he watched Avery's tail wag.

" Aw sorry man, that's just cute with ya tail. But that's good, real good ya found happiness, I like to think I have to, but I'm wondering"

"He attacked them?" Avery was surprised, the name Amaya sounded familiar, but he could hardly believe anyone would attack Colche. Avery decided he would have to make sure he avoided Zach from now on, if the lizard man was even still around anymore. He wondered what happened to him...

He didn't want to think about it.

"Well, I'm glad they are okay, right? And what do you mean zapped?" he looked confused. The only time Avery had ever felt the zap in his neck was from when the chips malfunctioned, but even then, he had no idea what it was.

Avery blushed a little, "my tail isn't cute... it's annoying, it keeps wagging even when I don't want it to," he mumbled, embarrassed. "Anyway - so you're not sure if you've found happiness or not? How come?"

" I think they took him away somewhere, I mean fair enough he attacked people, but I hope they don't go nuts on him"

Chubbs was all to familiar witht he lack of control some of the werums brought. Most of the time what he did wasn't his fault, so as much as he wanted to, he couldn't blame the guy.

" Umm zapped?, buzzed?... oh right, ya might not have seen it"

Chubbs was a little surprised Avery hadn't heard about it, but he hadn't changed that much yet.

" They watch you on the cameras, where ever they happen to be, and well if ya look like ya starting trouble or gonna hurt someone, they can like, knock you out with a button"

Chubbs picked at he meat a little more then leaned down and ripped a chunk out, letting Avery take the information in.

" And ya tail is so cute, it's cool, bet the girls wanna pet ya"

He smiled a little and then lost it as he got a little serious.

" Um.. well, sure I found happiness, in a girl... I mean I love her, she the first to show me everything. Ya know, my first kiss, snuggle,first time I felt loved, and well... you know right?"

Chubbs waved his hand arouns as if the progression of waht he was saying was obvious, and Avery should work it out.

" Any where else I'd be the happiest guy you know, but here, here I'm turning into a monster.. and I don't mean here"

Chubbs waved a hand over himself to gesture to his appearance.

" I mean up here"

And with that, tapped a claw on the side of his head

"I'm changing, in a really bad way, and I bet i'll be the next one they take away to a cell next to Zach's"

Avery had to agree there, even though Zach had attacked him, he did seem sorry after the fact... but still... it had happened twice, and that was only to him. Apparently he's been attacking people all over the place.

Even so, Avery didn't want Zach to be... tortured, or anything. Or to die.

Avery wasn't too surprised to hear that the doctors here could knock him out with just a press of a button. It disturbed him, yes, but it figures that they would want control over the islanders to such an extreme extent. That just left him wondering why he was zapped that one day, though... he was sure he hasn't done anything to deserve that.

He continued eating the meat off his chicken wing until there was nothing left on the bone while he listened to Chubbs - but even then, he continued keeping the bone in his mouth, absently chewing on the end of the bone and not realizing what he was doing.

He frowned when Chubbs explained to him that he was changing, not just physically, but mentally as well. Avery hoped that wasn't going to happen to him, too.

"So you mean... you might start attacking people? What if maybe you talk to the doctors about it? I mean, maybe they can... help you control yourself, somehow?"

Chubbs nodded to Avery's question, cept there was no might about it. Chubbs had attacked Zach and Joli, and could have done more.

" I attacked Zach wel he was after Colche, sure I was trying to protect her, but at the time, I almost believed I'd kill him"

Chubbs too gnawed on a bone, but the sizable difference in their bone choices was amusing.

" Then there's the time when I last changed I went right for Joliette, the girl I love, took every ounce of humanity I had to pull myself back from that one. I don't think you have to worry, see, ya say ya got a dog serum right?... well they are pretty nice, and kinda only attack when like trained to or when they are protecting. Me? I got a a tasmanian devil, a wolverine and a grizzly bear milkshake as a serum, and all three of em bottled up in me is what the problem is, they are all savage ripping machines."

Chubbs sniffed his food a little, really wishing he didn't want to eat more, but the tasty steak looked good and he tore off a chunk.

" I sent a not with Colche, to the girl the got hurt, I figure she's the one that's been helping the islanders. I basically asked that they didn't change me again, I don't think I can handle another one. So here's hoping"

"It sounds to me like they want you to be violent, what the ******** were they thinking giving you all those animals?" Avery looked angry. Why was Moreau wanting to punish the islanders when it was his own damn fault someone got hurt for turning people into violent creatures? What else did he expect to happen?

"Maybe now they'll have learned their lesson from Zach's attack... don't they stop you from hurting people with the button, though? At least there's that... but I hope they stop changing you, Chubbs. I'm sorry you had to deal with that..." Avery couldn't even to begin to imagine how terrible he would feel if he ever attacked Timothy, so he felt bad for Chubbs.

" Let's hope I dodn't change any more, I don't mind the outside, people say I make a good teddy bear now. Even Colche calls me Pooh Bear, she's so cute, she almost made me cry"

He smiled a bit, trying tot get the subject back onto a lighter mood. No point being down forever, specially if you hated bringing people down with you.

Avery couldn't help but laugh a little at that. "Well, you do look like a big teddy bear! Colche calls you that, huh?" he grinned, wondering how the cheetah girl has been doing. "Yeah, she is adorable, a really sweet girl. Kinda like a little sister I never had, yanno? I haven't seen her in a while, though."

Chubbs blushed a little, he couldn't help it, the thought of somone else saying her looked like a teddy made him blush.

" I know exactly what ya mean, I love her like a sister, but I mean does she have to be naked all the time? "

Chubbs couldn't help but chuckle

" See she's cute, and well I hadn't seen a naked girl in the flesh till I got here ya know and it's like she's bending over to pick at flowers and it's Hello!"

Chubbs laughed again.

" And my animals are going " Ooo!, is that for me?" And I'm beating em back with a stick, my animals are hornbags I gotta say, but I love her alot, she makes this place alot better. She's fine at the moment, happy as always and taking flowers to the injured girl"

Avery laughed at Chubbs' comments. "Yeah, I was pretty surprised when I first met her and saw she was naked, too! I guess she's just more comfortable that way, huh?" he shrugged. Hey, if the girl wanted to run around naked, why not? It's not like she could get arrested for indecent exposure around here. "But she doesn't seem to mind too much, and anyway, she's got all that fur now so it's not too... well... exposing, I guess," he laughed.

Chubbs smiled and nodded, finishing off his steak and wiping his claws on a napkin, He wanted to lick them but he was trying to keep some manners.

" Yeah, it does tend to cover up places, I mean I am so fuzzy down there"

Chubbs pointed to his crotch and chuckled as he stook up, grabbing his mutton and coke.

" Tanks for the talk but I better get back to Joliette, she worries a bit now days. Feel free to drop by sometime"

Chubbs nodded to Avery as he headed his way out.

Avery flushed almost choked on his bite of chicken when Chubbs mentioned where else he was furry. "U-um, alright then Chubbs, I'll see you later!" he smiled, waving at the other man as he left.

Well, Avery supposed he shouldn't be surprised. After all, both Timothy and Vasile were furry everywhere, too... and it was bound to happen to him as well.

... but that didn't mean it was going to change into dog bits too, did it!?

Avery suddenly wasn't hungry anymore.
