iKillCaustic--uKillMe lakeisha_therese iKillCaustic--uKillMe lakeisha_therese iKillCaustic--uKillMe lakeisha_therese Also, as far as the australian animals go, you should add sugar glider to the list... they're adorable little things. They are indeed. They're not meant to be kept as pets though, they're an endandered species. I've not heard of them being endangered. I knew that in some states that they were illegal or you had to have a permit to keep them because they're considered to be exotic. Most states it's legal to own one without any special permits or anything though. And their relatively easy to care for. Hmm...I'm not sure if you mentioned this when you signed up, but are you an Aussie or an American? I am in the USA, dear. Ah, that explains it then, the regulations are quite different I'm assuming. I'm assuming so. I know that in most states it's legal to own a sugar glider without any special permits or anything. I did a power point on sugar gliders for Intro. to computers. (Required class for all degree programs at my school.) so I had to look up all of that.

The information I found just said that it was straight up illegal to keep as pets in all of Australia... (Probably just generalizing.) Either way, I've learned something new. 3nodding

Damn near everything is area specific in one form or another. Meanwhile, I'm going to have to look up images of a Leadbeater's possum. I've never heard of them before. Why does having one carry such a severe punishment though?

Why does having one carry such a severe punishment though? They are endemic to small areas in Victoria (hence why they are the state's faunal emblem) and are severly endangered.

If google images didn't lie to me they look almost like sugar gliders. Are there any zoos that keep some to try to get them to breed and increase the population?

There are a few wildlife sanctuaries that are trying to help increase the population, but they don't seem to be helping much...it's just too hard.

I really do hope that they make some headway. Though, I'm thinking that they might want to consider artificial insemination if they don't already do so.
