The color in Gabriel's lenses faded. He frowned and his hand began to squeeze tighter against the child's neck, pinching specific pressure points, and using a very calculated amount of force. Just enough to not cause damage. The android remained silent.

((sorry for the scarcity of my posts lately. I promise I'll give ya a good RP day on Kaye friday, ^__^ wink )

It hurt Asher to open his mouth. His shoulders and wrists felt worn enough to tear. Tears were squeezed from his eyes as he spoke, "To pay them! To pay them!!"

Gabriel continued holding the boy effortlessly in the air. He pulled the child back so he could speak directly in his ear, "To pay whom, and why,"

Asher would have been furious; he'd answered both of those questions throughly enough, though he was too afraid at the moment to feel much of anything else as far as emotions go. "The hospital! So they'll continue treatment! Let me go! Please!"

Seeke snorted in interest.

"Cique, oi?" he gagged, "Wonduh whutee's up to..."

The massive lizardman pulled out the credits he had in his pocket and set them gently on the counter.

"Thankuh, m'loydy." he said, nodding to the bartender in gratitude, "Aye, n' w'd ye be happ'nin tuh know 'f theh be any ship rent'ls 'round heah?"

Gabriel growled somewhat, his hand now clenching tight enough to completely restrict the teenager's airways. "Who's at the hospital?" instantly he threw Asher to the ground.

((Gah... bored... gonk ))

((Oh, and also... post on Reach, since you are so bored. It has come to a grinding halt, since Z won't FREAKING post anywhere.))

Asher panicked; it was hard enough to pay for his sister's bills, much less his own if his awkwardly tied arms snapped when he hit the ground. "There are a lot of people at the hospital!"
He was now worried that the finger-shaped bruises that would appear would appear too soon and the nurses might see. Asher quickly made up a lie, "I need to buy medicine so my infection doesn't spread. I need to buy it now!" He kicked and squirmed, trying to stand.

((What the hell do you want me to do?!))

Conner reappeared at the T-junction in the hall, simply staring at Gabriel with unabashed bewilderment. Slowly, she stepped across the boy before helping him to stand.

"Officer," she said, relapsing into an air of harsh formality--of which she had not used before with Gabriel--that suggested her disapproval at the current events. "We should not stay here. More androids will be approaching, as two units have just gone missing. You appear dead-set on questioning and torturing this boy--can it not wait until the hospital, his destination, is reached? There, not only will we be safe from prying eyes, but the proper facilities will be present in the probable case that you injure the child."

Conner was finding second thoughts rising in the back of her mind about teaming up with Gabriel. Perhaps, she would find another officer for assistance.

"Prepare for Aomega Asteroid Cluster warp-jump. No gravitic fields; course corruption chance is considered very high."

Brand busily monitored many gauges and data output devices in his ship, the Skrimir. This twin needle-like device was drifting through space at the moment, with engines off and minimal computerized equipment currently running. The life-preserver, oxygen-generator, and nuclear power source remained active, among a few other vital things.

"Enter a disliced column, upper left quadrant. Burst-jump into lower right column at 48.667 per cent destination distance. Return to upper left quadrant at 88.667 per cent destination distance reached. Engines to thirty per cent power performance. Approximate jump-distance: four thousand thirty eight point twelve giga-zam units. No debris detected. Interruption procedure calculations... nearly complete. A-OK performance standards. Fuel at thirty-nine per cent of total capacity. Ion fuel-cannons depleted. Atomic disruption field at low energy. Infinistasis ready. Predicted energy usage: too much. Finish interruption procedure calculations. Caution advised."

All this, Brand had read from the cryptic screen output on his ship. Any error in calculation would result, likely, in the collision with a stray asteroid. To jump through the actual asteroid field was suicide; the perimeter belt, however, was risky as well, even though Brand was going to jump through.

When his hyper-jump was complete, he would be less than an hour's distance away from the pull of the Aomega tear. Once in that pull, there would be little time left before Brand left Cirque and entered Aomega.

Asher stayed silent, believing this to be the best course of action. He was very, very grateful that Connor was there, and that she appeared to be on his side. If he ever found a way to thank her, he would do it.

Kajin took the money off the counter and slipped it into her pocket. Heading over to a small red cabinent Kajin pulls out a slip of mamer and two red, three prong keys. Goind over to Seeke she sets the things down. "In the west harbor there's a small ship. It'll hold a crew of 7 at most. The ship is called 'Chisai Ookami' and it's a dull green color."

Gabriel gave a low, grumbling noise before nodding, "Fine... We're only a kilometer away from the hospital," he looked down at Asher, "Get ready to fess up, kid,"

Asher gulped. His skin was cold to the touch, despite the beating sun. He'd do as the android said.

((There's so much sugar-snap pea carnage in my room >___<; ))

"Well? Get moving," Gabriel sighed, walking behind the teenager and keeping a steady eye focused on his movements.
