The Courtyard

She glanced down again gently biting her lip.
She sighed again and pulled herself up to a standing position.
Ally balanced herself placing her hand on the tree and leaned forward looking down, she caught sight of Layla who seemed as if she was about to cry.
She seemed heartbroken..
Ally began counting quietly to herself.
"..Three."
She lifted her hand and jumped from the tree landing feet first before collapsing to the ground.
She muttered something under her breath and pushed herself up from the ground onto her knees, holding her head she turned and looked at the case then Layla.
She blinked once before glancing down at her knees, there were small cuts spread across them.
Ignoring the sting she let her hand fall to her side and sat up.
"Are you alright?"
She asked looking over at Layla.

Layla looked at her with eyes that could kill but then she looked at Ally's knees. Her fingertips glowed as she healed her knees quickly.
"I-I'm.....fine....." Layla whispered her voice calming and gentle.

"Oh.." Ally glanced down at her knees, "Thank you," she smiled gently.
She'd tilted her head at Layla, "You don't seem like it."

Layla gently smiled which was rare for her....
"I don't seem like what?" Layla asked softly.
She didn't normally speak to others so quick but something was different with Ally. Layla felt as if she could actually trust her, so she spoke and her voice felt like it had been trapped ever since......

She laughed a little , "You don't seem alright."
Layla did look slightly more relieved now, though Ally noticed something else.
She obviously wasn't alright, though why try to hide it?

Layla looked at her then looked away. She thought about the past and how it lead her up to now.....
"I'm fine..." Layla assured her looking in her eyes, her piercing glance could see anything she was hiding.
Then she looked at the blossoms as their petals flew with the breeze.
Happiness will always come with a consequence like everything else.... She thought grabbing a flute she had and started playing it. The sound from it was beautiful but told a story. It was confusing at first but then started making more sense.

Ally sighed, of course she wouldn't tell her.
She sat silently as Layla began playing her flute.
"Wow.." she managed after a while, "it's beautiful."
The song carried some hidden meaning yet she couldn't grasp what the meaning was.
Instead she just listened intently.

Layla smiled as she continued to play. Her song soon turned happy and peaceful. Then it cut short..... Layla's eyes opened and she glanced over at Ally.
"Ally...... That's your name isn't it?" She asked peacefully.

She blinked once, "Yes.. how did you know that?"

"I can tell what or who is...It's sort of a blessing and a curse but I use it to remember a lot of people..." She explained softly, "Also I can see into the future/ past in my dreams I think... But I can see everything in a person's eyes..... everything they've committed and done.........." Her eyes looking away so she doesn't see anymore of Ally's business.

"I see.." She tilted her head at Layla, "though doesn't how you use it determine whether it's good or bad?"
Ally smiled raising her finger, "So really, it's you who determines what it is. And so far, I can say you're far from bad."
She placed a finger under Layla's chin and raised her head up, "Hey, don't look away."
She frowned slightly. "I'm pretty sure you can't see anymore than my name, no one has yet."
She pouted nudging her playfully, "Anyway, it's rude not to look at someone when they're talking to you."

Layla smiled as she took Ally's finger having a little fun in her eyes, "I would be able to see a lot more but I'm not a nosy person. I know it's rude but in my family when you look someone in the eye it means that they will reveal everything. But if you don't then it means that they are not ready to reveal to you everything. And you don't know that I might be good or bad... but i will tell you that I have my moments of being bad but I am good." She said her eyes matched the smile on her face.
