"Well what mostly led me to believe I could was the fact I was able to create the pocket universe even a small one, surely I can master life and death. They said creating that universe was impossible but I proved them wrong....kinda. I tried to not to prove them wrong, but because I wanted a certain person back. I needed a certain person back. Hell needed a certain person back." He said honestly.

Rikku let out a light sigh... "Well I will be honest with you.. the gods only say that because we don't want hell to get too strong... I can... could.. easily bring back to life any creature I wanted, or kill any creature I needed to... ... when I had all my powers anyways." She said calmly. "but that is also because I am the head goddes of a pantheon... I am one of the most powerful... creating, killing, and bringing people back to life was easy for me, if I needed to give pointers though.. I would say start with the brain, first you need to reconstruct it, then move on to the heart and lungs, slowly adding each other organ, making sure they get blood and oxygen preventing them from dying, and then when you are finished.. add the skin... but since you cant creat skin, you would need to use alchemy to create a skin like product." She said calmly, thinking... she used to be able to do it with a snap of her fingers. "ANd who, if you don't mind me asking, did hell need back?

"Demon Queen Diane. She was the Demon Lord of Magic and Witchcraft before me. What most demons didn't know, she wasn't just a Demon Lord, she was an Overlord. So powerful nobody challenged her and those who did died from her fury, with little me by her side as Apprentice and other things." He said proudly. Diane wasn't a real Overlord but was mistaken for one since she had few people to challenge her.
"I might not have been a Overlord like her but I was still pretty good for my age, I was like a Teen in human years. And as for the whole life thing, I already tried that, it's the soul part I fail at. Everytime I got the soul...it just poof, gone. Where'd it go, I dunno, I had it but it's gone." He said confused. "And those I do keep my grip on their soul rejects the body so they still died..."

Oni was sitting crosslegged on the pool table, listening absently. He went to take a shot on the cue ball when Tomha spoke. Oni missed the cue ball, but he didn't care. His head snapped up. "Who did you say?" he said slowly. "Who did you say you wanted to return?" he repeated.

"Her name was Demon Queen Diane. She was my teacher, owner, wife, alot of things. She was the one you would see beside me in the only portrait in good condition." He said calmly. "Why do you ask? And why the devil does it matter who I try to resurrect?"

"Because I'm pretty sure I know that name..." Oni said quietly. "In fact, I know I know that name." he added. A few scenes rushed into his head from the past. Standing in front of a group of thugs...a pretty neko girl beside him walking forward with a few papers in hand... And a few days later, an attack on that girl's house. "I remember it from long, long ago. The story starts in World War II, in the Pacific. I managed to get shot down and landed on a previously unknown island, very isolated. On that island was a neko girl, who, after we became friends, told me she ran up a large debt with a particularily...in her words: "Some nasty Overlord woman." Fast forward a few decades and I went back to help her out. Turns out she payed down most of the debt, and I helped out with the last bit...yeah, apparently the thugs sent to collect the money, which happened to be the deeds to some very expensive property which could pay the original debt twice, liked the payment, but your Demon Queen razed the island. I'm not sure if that girl is still alive. I'd love to know." he explained. After his fairly lengthly story he sat quietly. He left out many personal parts to that story. "So there you have it. That's how I know that name. And that's why I acted so surprised. How'd she die again? I wonder if all that karma caught up with her." he added coldly.

"She died about around two thousand years ago in her sleep from an illness. But when she died I took her place and my right hand man Chewy took care of all her affairs. He'd disguise himself as her as he did this so everyone believed she always gets her way. He was pretty ruthless but loyal. I don't think Diane did it since she was already dead and she was very strange for a demon.
Almost human like. She'd ask me the wierdest questions like "Do you love me?" or say something strange like "The most valueable thing is Loyalty and Friends.". I never have any idea what she talks about half the time, I think she was insane. Why do all the pretty girls have to be crazy or never like a bag guy?" He said quietly and honestly.

"She's right, at least." Oni said in an even, emotionless tone. "What about that Chewy guy...if he's the one who hit that island, and he's still alive..." To calm himself down, Oni turned to the pool table and took a shot at the cue ball that had rolled back towards him. It bounced off another ball, sinking it, but at the same time, sinking the cue. "Aw, damn." he said quietly, breathing deeply once or twice. "Alright...so long as you didn't have a hand in possibly killing Mei, then you're on my good side. It's probably a good idea to be on that side." Oni said after a moment.

"Nah I'm not a loan shark, Diane wouldn't either. She wasn't good at being a demon. Every time she said something I had to correct her in true demon nature. People like her rarely have her status, I question how she ever got where she was with those beliefs. Friendship and Loyalty being most valueable? No way, Minions and Power is most valueable." He said coldly. He was raised to believe Demons must behave in Evil Dictator like ways and doubted things like love and friends, considering how he was betrayed by his own father.

"Whatever you say..." She said shrugging. "How do you think the gods rose to power.. someone had to be loyal to us, we needed our friends and followers to believe in us, I agree with this Diane lady... I can honestly say that I am curious and wouldn't mind meeting her someday.... if I could."

"I'm going to have to agree with Rikku on that one." Oni said, still sitting crosslegged on the pool table. "Ever heard the saying 'you attract more flies with honey than vinegar'? As a demon, that's the...well I guess you could call it philosophy, but the point is..." He stopped to cough for a minute before continuing. "Sorry. Anyways, the point is, Diane had the right idea...I guess. Who would you rather have as your right hand man: someone who is loyal to you because you show him good will, or someone who is only loyal to you because he knows he will be killed or tortured if he doesn't, and who desires revenge so much that one day he may try to kill you." He stretched his arms, leaning back on the pool table, using his hands to hold him up. "Well?" he asked.

Tomha frowned. "Well I was a kind Lord but that did not stop the fact my own family betrays and nearly kills me just so they can take my place. No, you simply cannot trust those with a will of their own, only animals and the dead can be trusted." He said coldly. "Only my creations were trustworthy. Mindless undead minions and animated suits of armor."

Oni sighed. "I'm not one for long debates, but..." he said, cracking his knuckles as if readying himself for a fight. "Your family betraying you has little to do with how you act but with how they act, for one." he started. "Second, is that really trust? The dead and animals? It's mindless obeying. If he does something, it's because he was told. But someone with a will can do more." Oni stayed quiet for a minute, thinking. "For example. You send a slave out to get something for you. Along the way, they encounter a group of enemies. Because they weren't told to do anything but get that something, they keep walking, eventually being killed by the enemies. Someone with a will would do something like kill the enemies, loot their bodies dry, and hand over your item and some extra cash as well." Oni looked up. "Maybe it's a bad example but you get my point, I think."

"Yeah I know your point Beings with will can improvise but my creations don't. I guess that is a rather useful benefit, The idea of having fearless men who don't slow down from pain or even think of turning on me, It was hell, no such thing as playing too safe there." He slightly shurgged. "Well I guess I'll admit free will has an advantage here and there. I'm guessing you two are tired since it's almost one. So I'll be going to sleep. Good night." He said respectfully as he left them alone. When he left he forgot to close the doorway to the hidden room.
