The sound coming from the enormous metal man was hypnotic, soothing, nice to hear. What was he waiting for again? Tascalon couldn't quite remember.
The crying subsided, though his face was still bright red and soaked with tears.

Raedou was relieved; the child had finally stopped crying. Finally. Just to be safe, he continued singing until he was absolutely sure that the baby was asleep.

Many strange creatures stalked the forest... Mostly the infamous Mandragora, a plant-like beast that could put it's victim to sleep with the soothing sounds it made It would then feast on the victim's bodily fluids... And five or six of them had ambushed the three mages, leaping out of the bushes and closing in on them.
Dasher's stomach flopped upside-down. He had to help them!((Irwin is here too, SPI. Making reply now....))

Tanessa whirled round, head jumping from one tentacle-armed beast to the next. Immediately, a sphere of flame formed in her palm, and this she hurled at one--the closest. While it caught aflame, the rest were easily able to perform any attack, however. Tanessa had no idea what these things were or what they could do; she just decided to hurl another fireball, but may not have received the chance....

TIME-SKIP FOR HELENNE, REMEDIUS, AND ELMIRE THROUGH IMAGINABLE TROPICAL FORESTRY.
Helenne frowned, looking down at the hole Remedius had entered. It was hardly wide enough for a small rabbit, and yet the guide had actually squeezed through it, somehow.
"You aren't serious," Helenne asked, confused. "How did you even get down there?"

Tanessa's fireball hit another one of the mandragoras square in the mouth, where, after a bit of smoke, it exploded. The three remaining mandragoras closed in as several more appeared from the bushes...

Ralendine rolled his eyes as he waited for the kooky mage to find a way for them to get into the hole as well.
Crazy fool... I shouldn't even be here. Damn you, Bishop Leviathe...

"Irwin..." Tanessa began, "if you've got any tricks up your sleeve, now's the time...."
She thought about invoking a ring of fire around them. That was a little out of her league, though, but... "Close your eyes!" she shouted instantly. A huge succession of bright explosions (sound and light, but no actual fire or power to them) suddenly erupted. This was in hopes of scaring the Mandragorae away, or at least stalling them.

"Forsoothe!" Remedius' shout could be heard. Suddenly, a large vine hanging from a nearby massive tree just... fell. Then another, then another.
Helenne glanced up and stepped warily away from the tree in question. More and more vines began to fall, until suddenly the entire tree toppled.

"...a cleaver? only if I can split large armored beasts with it will it be an adequate substitute..." The Draon replied, "I wonder if I can pay well enough..." she reached into her pouch, pulling out gold coins of Draon make (very thick) and some small ornate artifacts.
"All I have is accursed trinkets!" The Draon growled, "And single pieces! not a single disk!"

"I happen to have the Eladi ice spells, but here?" Irwin realized that it was humid, there was water in the air to use!
"How about... Halodeus Rime!" The air shimmered and condensed, covering the area in snow, and chilling the air.
"The cold kills plants, right?"
(Eladi magic (Rime fal) is ancient magic, with different names in a different language...)

The child asleep in one of his backpack pockets, Raedou set out to the marketplace in order to restock on supplies for the caravan.

Ralendine raised an eyebrow as he watched the magical happening. Truthfully, the Duke was impressed, even though he didn't show it.
"So," he said, "What happens now, lady knight? Is your magical friend going to grant us wings so we may fly to the Bishop's location?"
He snickered at the thought.

Dasher shivered as a cool breeze rushed through his hair. It suddenly got very cold; the boy was not used to this weather. And then, the explosions came, scaring the boy out of his mind and causing him to hit the ground, his hands placed over his head in fear.
The Mandragoras were unfettered by the chilly change in weather, but they were held back by the blinding light from Tanessa's spell. After the spell subsided, the Mandragoras covered their eyes and writhed about, vulnerable to attack until they gathered their bearings once again.

zfatal Luckily, somehow both suddenly exited the water. It was then that Perrault would realize that neither were very lucky, as they had rushed right over a water fall and actually fallen out of a vertically descending torrent. Their luck grew even worse as the light filtering in from the cave entrance above suddenly winked out--they had fallen very far, very quickly, to not even have visible light. Myrrelda did not scream. She laughed. The two were falling... straight to hell, Myrrelda thought. ----- At this point, Perrault was wailing and screaming at several things. The first thing was that he and Myrrelda were falling, presumably to their deaths. The second thing was that he was still trying to catch his breath from being underwater in his attempt to rescue the demon woman. The third thing was the fact that Myrrelda seemed to be enjoying the fall, for she was laughing as though she enjoyed the fact that they were plummeting to their demise.

((You need to slow down and read more thoroughly, Kaye. I stated that she wanted to make a ring of fire. But, instead, she sufficed with a bunch of flashy explosions that had no actual heat to them. Just distractions.))
