Sheena's eye twitched upon catching wind of Rhone's statement. Then they both narrowed as she glared daggers at Zelos and made a look of smoldering anger. She picked up her pace, storming to catch up and walk a little ahead of the red-haired former Chosen, and swiftly elbowed him hard and sharp in the chest before continuing on past Rhone, too much in a huff to realize she was going ahead of him.

Colette merely blinked in bewilderment as she watched what Sheena did to him, but just walked right past Zelos. This sort of thing happened often when the two of them were in close proximity, so she knew he would be okay for the most part.

Without any reaction to what transpired, Kratos simply walked past Zelos as well. Eloysio's thoughts were so preoccupied with Azriel that he wasn't paying much attention to anything else that was happening around him.

"How many times have I avenged my father...?"

Cyrus Fuego

User Image

Mana burned with passion in his body as Cyrus began to feel more demonic power get near Sybak's town radius. He sat outside the library, sighing. He had just been kicked out for interrogating one of the clerks about a book that had been here around a year ago. Supposedly, it held an entrance to Niflheim. The boy had the geek pinned against the wall. The guy looked like he was about to cry. Now that he thought about it, Cyrus felt a little sorry for him.

A little.

His reddish-yellow eyes flared as he felt something coming closer and closer. It was strange, as if there was something odd about this one. The demon hunter gave a hmph!

"Checked out, my a**," Cy said to himself, referring to what the clerk said nervously about the book. "Idiots probably burned it. They should have let me handle it...I came to this city for nothing. There goes another chance at getting into Niflheim..." He was dying to visit the demon world. It would be a dream come true.

"...Never enough, if you ask me."

((i think it would be for the best if Uriel did get a reminder but I'll post again anyways.))

Lyra flinched at the hissing. It seemed like talking but she couldn't understand it. She still held her arms up in a defensive stance. Turning her head slightly behind her but keeping her eyes focused on the dragon, Lyra spoke lowly. "I'd love to know what it's saying. Would you like me to heal you now, or later?" She asked Uriel. Now would be for the best but turning her back on any beast let alone a dragon was very dangerous.

Token was a proud beast, and the failed attempt at talking annoyed her. Humans didn't seem to understand any language aside from their own. They didn't even try to learn others. Irritated, the dragon crashed its tail down to interrupt the woman, threatening her not to turn her back on Token. Unsure of what to do now, because of the failed attempt at talking, Token stepped back, thinking. In a monsters tongue, its human speech was a little distorted, but Token did know the humans language. They were not attacking, which obviously meant they didn't want the fight. "If we are not going to fight, I would like a replacement for the lost meal." Token said in a glutteral accent.

Lyra could only pick out certain words from the dragon. 'Not, Fight, Lost, Meal' was all Lyra could here. At least the dragon could speak some Human but she wondered if it spoke Elvish. She decided that it wouldn't hurt to try. If that didn't work then maybe she could try something else to make the dragon leave them alone. "We don't want to fight. I need to get back to Sybak so I can give my sick mother medicine and heal my friend. Please let us pass..." It was old Elvish but she wanted to see the dragon's reaction to it so she simply stood there.

Token shook its head in mild shock at the woman's words, surprised to hear she knew older tongues like that. Token knew very little of that language, and was only able to depict a few key words. That being the common name, Sybak and the word "Pass". The dragon eyed the woman, shuffling to turn its head towards Sybak. Starting again with its guttural speaking, Token tried to get more information. "You intend to reach Sybak with that wounded man? Monsters are everywhere. It seems there are many people roaming out here to attract attention like this." Token was confused by the effort. She proudly thought herself the strongest creature around, but there were other creatures roaming around. Token could hear them swarming something right now nearby.

Shiuza expelled the monsters, glancing down to the small wolf at his side. Thrusting his fist up, Shiuza glanced back towards Sybak. "Last report said Chief was here in the fields! Maybe she went to Sybak?" Shiuza asked his small monster ally, whom merely yipped in reply. Starting off again, Shiuza quickly tried to cover lost ground. It was annoying that by now, most messengers would have made it to Sheena by now, but Shiuza was just an apprentice. Closer to Sybak, the youngster spotted forms heading towards Sybak. Dashing to intercept them, Shiuza let the scarf around his neck, Soph Aura, envelope him and the small wolf at his side, whisking them a little closer towards the group. Falling out of the scarf, which fell limp around his neck once more, Shiuza waved his hands in the air as he approached the group. "Chief!" He called, frantically trying to close the small gap and get their attention.

Lyra managed to fathom a few more words, them being 'Intend, Sybak, Man, Attract' and 'Attention.' Her eyes widened slightly that the dragon seemed to understand her. Dragons were intelligent and majestic beings so it didn't really come off as a surprise to Lyra. Thinking about the words she should use and translating them to the Old Elvish, Lyra managed to come up with a few sentences. It had been a while since she had spoken in Elvish.

"This man is powerful but injured. If i could heal him, we'll make it to Sybak with no trouble. Perhaps you could help us...?" She queried and began thinking again before speaking. "One must wonder if a powerful and majestic dragon such as yourself would like to help us." Lyra said calmly, she knew the dragon was dangerous and very strong but she might talk it into helping them.

Beaming in pride at the woman's pleas for help, and her compliments, Token turned to show off its majestic form. Once again the woman spoke again, leaving Token with very little to go on. The words "Majestic, Dragon, Powerful, and Help" were all easy for Token to decipher, though the rest was just nonsense to her ears. "Aid you? I could aid you, for a price." The dragon spoke, a sort of grin spreading out on its maw. The dragon lowered a portion of its body to allow them to climb on. "I will make my demands when we reach Sybak."

Lyra didn't catch anything that the dragon had said but the gesture she made by lowering herself was better than words. Lyra quickly turned to Uriel and knelt beside him. Switching back to Human language before speaking to Uriel. "Uriel, I think this dragon is willing to help us to Sybak. Lets go so i can heal you at home, where I'm more comfortable." She said excitedly, wrapping an arm around his ribs protectively to help him up.

Uriel flinched slightly at her kind touch, not so much because of the pain in his legs, but because it was unusual to receive such treatment. As a wanderer, he was unused to relying on others, save for the occasional innkeeper when his income allowed for such luxuries as beds. Uriel intentionally lowered his head while he walked, adding to his injured appearance. He whispered beneath his breath, "I don't know whether to praise you or yell at you for being naive. I would have killed the beast. And maybe you should be more mindful of who's around when you use that language." With that last line, he poked where he suspected the tip of her ear to be beneath her hat and long hair.

Even as the proceeded, he looked askance at the monster. Why would it be remotely interested in their predicament? Uriel doubted it was so easily convinced by compliments as to be manipulated. Hopefully they could quickly return the favor and be read of their new companion. It made him nervous to travel with something so untrustworthy. Ironic, considering his recent actions. Still, he tripped onward, the town quickly growing in his perception. "I also wouldn't mind some food, Lyra," he huffed.

(I assume that means they are boarding Token. : O )

Token waited until they were ready, shuffling off towards Sybak at full speed. The dragon began to charge, slowly gaining speed into some sort of bumpy gallop, though it took a moment for Token to really gain any speed at all. Once there, Token slowed and stopped before reaching the gates, looking back at them. "At the moment, you can consider me kind in my asking this simple favor. I desire food. Enough to be full." The dragon asked, glaring back at them. Token was alert, not too trusting of the male. Her maw kept ready, in case she needed to snap back at him. Enough food to feed her would be expensive enough by itself.

Lyra blushed as Uriel touched her hidden ear. She gasped aloud as she realised that she spoke in Elvish. It didn't matter though so Lyra just smiled at Uriel. "I'll cook for you, Uriel. Mother is probably still sick so I'll be cooking." Their ride on the dragon as a little less comfortable but at least she was at Sybak. Hopping off the dragon with a 'oof', she landed beside it and held her hands out to catch Uriel. Hearing the dragon talk again, Lyra did manage to pick out the word 'food' very clearly.

"You'll have to take another form if you wish to enter, O' great dragon. I don't think Sybak's citizens deserve to feast their eyes upon such a wonderful being." Lyra commented in Elvish. She didn't know any shape shifting or illusion spells. Only her father did and he burned the book he wrote them in so no one else would get them. Either way, Lyra would still try to help the dragon after it had just saved her, Uriel, and Lyra's mother.

Uriel noticed her arms, but pretended not to, and hopped off the opposite side of the beast. He was hurt, but he certainly was no cripple. He was capable of handling himself. Even as a sharp wave of pain surged through his body, upon his feet hitting the ground, he stood firmly and took a few steps on his own. "So which house is it?" he queried.

Uriel surveyed long rows of dormitories and apartments. All of them were for students. Then there was a tall, broad building for teachers and staff, an inn, the library, an area where merchants congregated, and a path that led towards the school. The earth here had a faint energy to it, like a power flowing beneath their feet. The town was mostly made of naturally-colored brick, with steel visible almost everywhere. Wires ran from one building to another, inviting avian monsters to perch there. The center of the town was not far from the entrance, so he walked over toward the middle of the square without much pain. All the residents of the university-town seemed to be out today, most likely making use of the strong sun for some experiment or another. The multitude of people provided safety for Uriel, as it meant the Chosens' group could not change their minds to punish him here. However, it also had its drawbacks, in some cases, depending on the last opportunity the pedestrians had to bathe. Inhaling one particularly pungent aroma, he turned to Lyra, eyes watering, and made a subtle gagging face.

ISELIA
Jason walked over to the gathering crowd (as much of a crowd as a small town can have, anyway) of people near what seemed to be a schoolhouse. What in the name of his granny's beard was going on there? He casually approached a guy standing at the edge of the crowd and, after a couple short jumps, finally managed to reach the guy's shoulder and tap it. Said guy jumped in a perfect 180 around and darted his head around nervously, looking for the tapper.
"Laddie, I be down here! Look down, man!" Doing as he was told, the anxious-looking man (who appeared to be in his early twenties) began nervously stuttering at Jason.
"Y-you're a dwarf? D-do you h-happen to c-craft (OOC: c-c-c-c-combo breaker!!!!) l-like that dwarf D-Dirk? We n-need a c-craftsman, and D-Dirk's b-busy with another j-job..." Pushing up his glasses, the guy glanced about nervously, as if looking for an escape from the crowd. Jason stroked his beard and thought about it.
"Annae nothin' a dwarf like me can't craft, lad! What can I do yeh for?" This was a good opportunity to become known in the outer lands!
"You'd b-better talk to my b-boss there. He'll t-tell you more..." Pointing at the very center of the crowd, the guy adjusted his glasses once more, wiped his sweaty palms on his shirt, then hastily hid behind a nearby house.
"What an eccentric lad. Reminds me of meself in the dark!" After navigating his way through the congregation (and getting some weird looks from people that he accidentally headbutted in transit), Jason reached a small clearing in the center, where a scholarly-looking guy was talking to some people about something.
"Be ye the boss that nervous laddie told me about?" After repeating the panning and looking down routine, the man in the center looked at Jason. He was a late middle-aged man in a scholarly-looking outfit.
"Oh, a dwarf. I mean, indeed I am. Do you happen to be a craftsman? Dirk's bus-"
"I heard the spheal from the nervous lad with the glasses. What needs craftin'?"
"Well, some scholars and I intend to build a historical re-enactment village. You know, people pay to go in and see what life was like in the old days and such."
"Aye, I know the kind. Is that even in demand these days, man?"
"That's not important! Where you could come in is crafting a replica of an ancient statue that was in the middle of the town to be reconstructed. It's statue of the king at that time. We can pay you a lot of Gald for it."
"Gald? I like Gald. It's what makes the world go around, ya know! Sure, I've nothin' better ta do. I'm in."
"Really? Nice. We have charts and drawings in Sybak, so we could take them to you. We even have a couple in our EC if you want to study them until we return."
"No need, man. I'm fresh out of Morlia. I'll come with you, save you the Gald fer the return trip. Let's get goin'!"
After dispersing the crowd, Jason and the scholar's entourage left on the EC, headed for the scholarly town of Sybak.

Token grumbled, not at all intending to enter Sybak. The girl seemed to think she did, assuming Token guessed her words correctly. The dragon thought about it, grumbling to itself. It would ensure that they didn't try to cheat her of her meal. Thinking about it, the dragon descended, slowly changing back to the form of a human. Taking a human body was still extremely new to Token, whom attempted to stand proud, though two legs were a bit more foreign then four. Speaking in the common tongue, Token hoped the woman knew what she was saying. "Right. I can eat a lot so you had better be loaded." Token didn't question how the girl knew she could change forms. Was she from a place in which monsters could do human things?
