I don't know what that is and I don't really feel like signing up for anything.

[Sanity_is_for_the_Weak] I don't know what that is and I don't really feel like signing up for anything. Ought to keep up with the announcements/main forum, 's a listing of guild members and their DoW usernames so that they can play games against one another and report the results in the thread.

Ah, well I'm afraid I don't play DoW so much any more, due to the growing interest in xbox and the staleness of DC. I look forward to a new and fresh DoW though, I hope we get some news at E3.

No, not at all. The Xbox 360 hosts some amazing games, which makes up for its apparent hardware failures.

I've owned my xbox for approximately a year and never had any hardware troubles with it. I have the Halo 3 edition.
On a sidenote, I purchased Soulstorm today and was none too impressed. The campaign screen keeps freezing, but skirmish works fine.

They are trying to change that though. It seems the aim these days for everyone, except for Blizzard, is to make RTS' less about base building and more about action. I wonder how StarCraft will compete among these new ideas.

The name will sell itself, nothing else is really needed. And they'll release the game in such a highly polished and licked state that you can expect from Blizzard. Base building isn't dead, you just need to look a little closer. C&C 3 is about base building, Company of Heroes has it, Supreme Commander requires you to do so, even Red Alert 3 in all its sickening candy graphics will still have base building.
DOW II will probably rely on its reputation for gore and the background of 40k as its main selling points, though Relic has good cred on their own.

Just played a team game with Caleidah on Soulstorm, and they desperately need to sort out balance issues, especially with Tau. Kroot Hounds individually have attack strength comparable to a dreadnought at 170-250.

On a very closely related note, they need to cut down on the time that it takes to fire an Earthshaker round from the Basilisk. Multiple times I clicked to fire, watching in Horror as Broadsides uprooted and got out of the way.

To me the earlier DOW games were better then Soulstorm, one on easy your race usually was able to overpower another, sort of. And on Soulstorm my strategy of using all my squad limits on stealth suit taus with all their upgrades and weapons no longer work *sniff* It's very irritating when you're building that army up and a small ork group comes in and slaughters the bunch even with a majority of the smaller bunch of stealth suits being invisible with the upgraded weapons.

Its called balancing a game. It was bound to happen. Though I have to agree with somewhat of what you said. DoW was good. I liked the story, though screw the Blood Ravens....

On easy you're meant to be able to wipe your opponent out without a problem. Stealthsuits were terribly broken in Dark Crusade, and they still are if you play them properly. They're just...less broken. That's more than made up for by how bloody deadly Kroot Hounds are, though.

Dear lord. Just played my first online DC game... 3v3. Marines, IG and Eldar against Chaos, more Marines and Necrons. Our Guard player left within a minute.. after that, it was just a bloodthirster, a nightbringer and a daemon prince killing us. Horrifying. On the bright side, I got most kills out of anyone.
Can't decide if I'm going to try it again.
